This went great. Rick arrived on time. After we explained our problem and our budget limitations, he looked at the gallery to see what we already had in place and reassured us about some of our electrical that we wondered about. Then he said that requests for gallery lighting in our town was limited since there are only two or three galleries. But he told us about his experience doing one for a local artist that we all knew. Then we talked about one of our rooms and he showed us how the lighting could be mounted and powered. He told us a great deal about the effects of different light bulbs in the different rooms and on different types of art pieces. This was good for us since we have dark rooms and very sunny rooms as well as lots of different types of art. He explained the need for a permit for the work and a typical cost for doing a particular room. Since we are a small coop gallery, we wondered how we could afford to do all the rooms. Rick said that he could do this job one room at a time as we obtained funding. This was ideal for us since we do not plan to borrow money to do a project like this. We are firm on paying as we go. In comparison to another electrical person I called to discuss this issue, Rick was head and shoulders better. His price is not cheap but we have all seen his work and he is trustworthy, and he does know lighting very well.
