Made a hole in the wall when installed. Bathroom contractor had to put adequate support for the countertop along a 3’ section that HAD A SEAM because install only put one shim. Knocked framing for fridge an inch away from cupboards. Backsplash wasn’t flush in 3 areas. Almost 0️⃣ effort to clean up. I sent these pictures + more to them with a -not happy evaluation- with no reply. Michael kept reinforcing to us when we were purchasing how much pride they take in their work. Waited over a month to do this review to give them a chance to respond…..Nothing as August 8th & install was June 27th😡

On November 30th, 2016 we had a scheduled delivery for granite countertop for our basement bar. There were 3 installers on site that day to do the install. They let me know they had finished. Directly following that they had left. I then went to the basement to inspect it I had noticed that the cut on the slab was not correct. I called my husband, who then called Youngstown Granite and they had their installers come back and grind off the corners that were wrong. Again leaving shortly after letting me know the work was complete. Once my husband got home that evening he went down to inspect the granite and found multiple issues. There was a cracked tile from where they dropped the slab entering my house (that they did mention to me), 4 damaged areas to our freshly taped and painted drywall walls, and also a chip on the granite from where they dropped it coming in the house. We immediately reached out to our salesman to find out how to resolve these problems. He said he would talk to the owner Eric and find out what he wanted to do. My husband did receive a response from our salesman on Friday December 2nd, 2016 stating that to cover the damaged walls and tile they would reimburse us $100 and they would send out a repair man to epoxy the chip in the granite. I was giving my father a tour of the basement on Saturday December 3rd, 2016 we also noticed that the basement window had been broken and repaired with drywall screws. I would like to add that the ONLY people who did any work in this basement besides carpet and granite, was my husband. He again immediately called our salesman who told him that the best way to resolve this issue would be to call "Eric" the owner on Monday December 5th, 2016 @ 9:00am when the shop opens. He said he was surprised that the installers were that sloppy. So to get this taken care of he called Youngstown Granite on the 5th and asked to speak to Eric. A lady answered and told him she would leave a message. He called again in the afternoon on the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and followed up with one last call on the 12th. Every time he called he got the same run around: “He’s not available", "he's not in the office much", "he knows you’re trying to reach him", "it's out of our hands we can't force him to call you back", etc. On December 12th, 2016 my husband let the lady on the phone know how disappointed we were with the installers and the owner. He said that as return customers we would never be back and that we would be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau to resolve it. She told him "I would suggest you do reach out to the BBB because chances of him getting back in touch with you are very slim". We gave him one additional week to return the calls and still no response. We are now waiting on a response from the BBB. I will never return to their business, nor recommend anyone I know to go there.

Description of Work: Granite countertop and backsplash in bathroom. Granite is beautiful, but the holes they drilled for faucets were too close to sink and at too much an angle for faucets to be placed. Had to be drilled again and faucets modified, voiding our warranty. The installers tracked dirt throughout the house and it smelled like cigarette smoke for days.

Steel City Granite/Youngstown Granite did not finish the job that they were under contract to finish. Phone calls went unanswered. They walked away from the job without a professional resolve to the problem. The owner was not only unprofessional, he was rude and vulgar! He walked away with my deposit and told me to sue him if I want my money back. Clearly, they have no idea of how to resolve a conflict or provide any type of customer service.
Description of Work: I hired this company to install granite countertops in my kitchen. My slab was damaged during fabrication and they made little or no attempt to provide me with a new slab. They only installed 18 square feet of the 41 square feet needed to finish the job. This left us with a huge portion of our kitchen unusable, as we were missing not only the countertop, but also the kitchen sink.

When the guys show up they stay till the work is completed. Very TOP Quality Work.. In fact when the granite had to have a seam because the size is too long they even return and polish the seam so good that you can't feel a seam at all. I was told they are the only company that dose that service in the Youngstown Area. I'm going to do the Family room fire place and it's going to be them for sure. The office staff. The ladies REALLY KNOW there stuff.. and if you go price compairsons You'll be back to them .. IF Price is the only consideration. But remember that Granite is something you don't replace very often.. and you need the best service also. The people at Youngstown Granite do that job with a 5-Star Rating by me and my wife.

Description of Work: Installed granite countertop in bathroom; problem occurred when estimator/measurer either failed to record instructions correctly or didn't give them to installer. Due to existing tile on wall, counter needed to be installed on top of old countertop. My wife reminded installer before he began, he said "sure" then proceeded to tear off old countertop! My wife heard the pounding and came running, but half of it was destroyed. He then rebuilt counter, installed granite, and offered to reinstall our old sink for us; he put it in crooked. Then we discovered the counter was not level - off by 1.5" one end to the other, very noticeable. When he tried to remove the sink to straighten it, he cracked it. Ordered us a replacement sink. Took almost a month of non-returned phone calls and messages requesting leveling of the counter and installation of new sink. We finally went to office with the 6 pages of our documentation of this fiasco, and by chance, one of their experienced installers/repairers was there. He came and looked at counter, said he could correct the slope to CLOSE to level, we said to go ahead. He and a colleague came next day abd worked hours on it, until it was barely noticeable that it's not quite level. New sink is nicer than original, was installed correctly. End result good, but not perfect. Advice: confirm specs multiple times before work begins and observe closely!

I picked out the granite and provided them with the template for the undermount sink. It was done and installed within 3 weeks. They did a great job. They came when they were scheduled and did the job efficiently. It looks beautiful! I had a small issue with an area on the granite and customer service was great. They came right out and corrected the problem immediately. Very satisfied wtih the service and product.

Following visiting the store in Cranberry, a home visit was arranged to confirm measurements and discuss my project and fine tune the rough estimate. The first problem occurred when I asked for a final price. I was initially told that a deposit would be required. The staff did not understand that the estimate was based on my sketch, but that I wanted a final price. Two additional calls to the Cranberry Township, PA store (Steel City Granite) to clarify the estimate were met with a lack of professionalism, in particular rudeness, by the office staff and resistance to answer questions. As a licensed professional engineer in construction financing for over 30 years, I am aware of the potential problems and surprises that can occur during renovations. If this type of service occurred during the estimate phase, imagine what would happen if there was a problem with the installation.

I am a very savvy consumer and I do quite a bit of research before jumping into a project. That being said I received quotes from 2 very reputable granite installers. A co-worker told me about Youngstown Granite, so I decided to check it out. I did have concern that they did not have a BBB seal of approval and I addressed this to them face-to-face. I too owned a business many years ago and I felt that the BBB complaint ratio in comparison with the quantity of jobs performed was extremely LOW. So, now I have 3 estimates for the counter tops, and Youngstown granite was not the cheapest of the 3 in comparison at first. I say at first because the other 2 estimates were grade"A"materials (lowest grade). When I contacted one of the granite companies they would not give me a price on the same material that Youngstown was selling, they stated that the material I wanted a quote on was "D" grade and was " very expensive" and wouldn't give an exact price over the phone. The second place just said that there was "no way was I getting the material (Solaris) at that price". They insinuated a switch would occur upon installation. Well, I'm here to tell you, I got exactly what I wanted, and we got the BEST at a comparable price to the other companies "cheapest" material! I am very pleased with the granite counter top we received from Youngstown Granite. They did not do any of the plumbing, and were not contracted to do any of the plumbing. They had to cut out a sink and faucet from the granite, and these cut-outs were precise and finished. The price was so reasonable, we chose to get a full splash installed, which was almost as much square footage as the counter top itself. And their craftsmanship, and service was so phenomenal, that we had them measure for a tub surround while they were here. I can't wait to begin our next project with Youngstown Granite.

I do like them. If they say that they would be there at 11:15, they would be there at 11:15. If they say that they would take a week long, they would take a week long. They tell you upfront if the job would take a long time. The owner is very nice and I know him personally. Their price is high. I would use them in the future.

Whenever you’re saving this much money, you always wonder how it’s going to go. Exceeded expectations.
Description of Work: Youngstown Granite performed a kitchen job for me. I’m in Hudson, OH and with the name “Youngstown” I was concerned regarding the distance, but these guys were prompt and responsive at every step. They cover an area of approximately 2 hour radius. I have been sub-contracting my own kitchen renovation to save money. This is not the type of vendor where you go a pour over pictures while drinking latte, but they are fabulously inexpensive and will still take the time to walk you through the steps needed to get the job done. You need to have a good idea what you want to do, and they’ll help with the rest. They pointed me in the direction of good local granite supplier (Mont Granite in Solon). Jarrod was the rep who made the initial measurements and quote. He later came by a picked up the half down deposit. Everything is coordinated by the central office. The owner came by a couple of days later and made the final measurements and added some suggestions. A couple of weeks later. The installers (Mike and Robert) came in and did the final install. In their late 20’s early 30’s. they did just a great, craftsmanship job. These guys are probably sub-contractors, but there was commitment to YG and the customer’s (my) satisfaction. If you’re doing your own amateur contracting like me, I’d recommend clearing your schedule and being available as they do the install. I learned a lot, plus when working with natural stone there will always be some last second decisions. Small cut here, do you want a notch this? Yada, yada, yada. We selected a lower priced granite from Mont Granite, but choosing your own slab still allows you to create character in your kitchen. We have a large island with bar that used most an individual slab, and YG did a good job and cutting out the most impressive vein of the piece so it runs the length of the island. Our project was a bigger than average job using two full slabs. Great job YG. I’d use you again.

Our first contact with this company was when they arrived at our house for an estimate. After we got the price, we were nervous because it was half what we had been quoted by others. So we asked the gentleman if he had any references. He opened his contact book and started pointing out people in our general area of Warren who had used his services. He offered several of them (not skipping any!) who we were welcome to call. We called them all. Each of them, EVERY ONE, gave an absolutely glowing review. The company representatives arrived at our place on Friday afternoon. They took the product in their truck, after measuring the installation location so they could cut the sections at their shop. The next day, they arrived within 45 seconds of their stated arrival time, and started their installation. Three hours later, the countertop and sink were installed, perfectly, and the kitchen was clean. We cannot say enough about the quality of the workmanship. I know I sound like a shill for the company; in fact, the real reason I signed up for Angie's List was to give a review to this company. HIGHLY recommended.
Description of Work: We purchased some granite countertop sections from an auction and this company came to our house, picked up the sections, measured the installation location, and installed the product.
