Boak & Sons was established in 1974 as a small insulation company by Sam Boak while he was only a senior in high school. With the high energy costs of the 70’s, we expanded early on into the roofing business. We offered economical roof installations through cutting edge technology and equipment, allowing customers to recoup even more in energy savings. Now, we serve both residential and commercial customers to provide quality customer service from Cleveland, Ohio to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and everywhere in between. Our services have also expanded to include sheet metal, siding and gutters along with roofing and insulation. Our company lives by two simple rules: 1. Safety is always first and 2. Never, ever, EVER cut a corner. With over 150 employees serving our customers, these rules help us achieve superior customer service as well as a work environment that gives our employees a safe place to call home. It has not leaked since then.
Description of Work: A leak had sprung in our roof where the wind got up under a shingle. The Boak roofer glued the shingle back in place, eliminating the leak.

Description of Work: We had them remove 2 layers of shingles and install new shingles on our roof. They replaced the old vents with a ridge vent. They replaced the older gutters and downspouts with new. They added a front porch with a roof and railings. Chris, Rick and the rest of the crew did an excellent job. I had an idea for how I wanted the porch to look but Chris had an even better idea. It was great working with him. They were all very conscientious. They even stayed later on the first night to finish because it was supposed to rain. The neighbors all like how the house looks with the new roof and porch. |

Description of Work: I called to set up an estimation on how much it would cost to repair my roof. I was told somebody would call me back in the next day or two to set up that appointment. I waited a week and never heard anything back so giving them the benefit of the doubt I called back again and explained that I was still waiting for somebody to call and was told that he would make sure that the supervisor got the message this time and be sure to have somebody call me back and he did apologize. I waited another week actually 10 days and never got a call back again so I politely called back and told them if they had my name on the list to call back to remove it. I did not want someone that couldn't return a phone call to do work on my house.

All of our estimators are trained and instructed to return every call within a 24 hour period. I understand that you did receive a phone call with an apology from the superintendent of our repair department. Description of Work: Roof replacement after hail damage. We were told that they were backed up until October but the job wasn't done until Spring. The job itself was done very well. It even looked better from the street than the roof that was put on 5 years ago. It was clearly a more professional job.

Description of Work: We had our roof replaced on the house in 2001. Boak did a great job and we didn't hesitate to have them do the garage in 2012 when that roof needed replacing. They will respond to any questions and they will check shingles after windstorms and such if asked. They make cost a little more, but the quality of the job is worth it.

Initially, their work was extremely poor. The crew installed two different colors of fascia, glued shingles onto my roof, and completely destroyed eaves with their ladders. We literally had neighbors come by and laugh at what they did. The office was contacted about these issues, and Sam Boak, the owner, came out to our home himself. He wholeheartedly agreed that everything needed by fixed. I really appreciated his responsiveness. His employees were back out promptly, and they fixed everything to our complete satisfaction. Because of their responsiveness, and the fact that everything was done well in the end, we decided to bid our insulation work with them. We called about an estimate on three occasions. Unfortunately, no one ever came out to our home.

The job went smooth , quicker than expected, workers were professional and courteous.
Description of Work: Two installers, on time ,I might add, installed blown in insulation 8" about 1600 square feet and 74baffles one baffle every other rafter bay ,cleaned up , and were finished in about one hour, just what was expected I would recommend this company

This is the first time we've used them and they did a good job. We would use them again and would recommend them. We had 3 other companies that we got estimates from and their price was a little bit lower but it was about average.

Overall, the job went really good. They were really professional. They did a really good job. I am very happy. I don't know how much it is going to cost because estimator is going to come out today, and they have to insulate the wall from the outside of the house. I will recommend them.
