+ -1 moreWe discovered a leak and used a pre-paid 2 hours of labor coupon found on Angie's List--we scheduled service, he arrived as scheduled and found the source of the leak and also checked another issue we were having w/one of our toilets. He ordered those parts and will be back to do the repair--we also had him submit a quote for replacing our hot water heater & water softener which we plan to have done when he comes back.

+ -1 moreGreg made a very trying time a little easier with the caring attitude he kept throughout the repair of my basement bathroom. Unfortunately, I experienced two water leaks for separate reasons all at the same time. I called Greg and explained to him the problems and he came over to address each issue in a pretty timely and professional manner. He replaced an exterior hose bid that broke after my tenants apparently left a water hose in place during the winter which caused a leak in my basement. During the repair of the basement walls and floor it was discovered by my tenant that there was also an apparent leak in my bathroom. Greg agreed to come over and assess the problem. Greg took time to fully explain what the problem was and found a fairly reasonable way to repair the damage without replacing the entire tiled shower. He was able to complete the entire job in less than 1 week. Although I haven't personnally seen his work, my tenant is very satisfied with the finished product. Greg also provided a warrantly on his work which makes me feel much more at ease. I would definitely work with him again in the future! Thanks again!

+ -1 moreInitially, it was a bit hard to get ahold of Greg but I only assume that is because he is busy because he does great work. He did this at my mom's house and he was always nice, helpful, on time and his prices were great. He initially quoted higher for the work, but when it was done much quicker than he thought, the price came down. I am very sure that if I had a plumbing issue at my house or my mom needed a plumber again, we would call him. So glad we found him. A! all the way.
Description of Work: Hooked up bathroom vanity in downstairs bathroom. It needed the pipes to go along the wall and he knew exactly how to do it.

+ -1 moreI contacted the plumber twice by phone telling him what I wanted done. He told me the first time he was extremely busy. i accepted that answer as the work was not urgent. I checked the Angie's List site for newer reviews and found several reviews that seemed to have been done after I called. The reviews were very good. So i called a second time repeating the requested work, and again he was busy on other jobs, but he said he would get back with me and take care of the work. For a long time i thought he would get back to me, so I awaited his call. I'm still waiting to be contacted. I went ahead and DYI'ed the one job i needed most. He's still got my $99, but the Big Deal is long been expired. I'll contact McLean plumbing again. However, at this point, I'm not sure how the call will be received.

+ -1 moreI used McLean plumbing twice, first time to remove and reinstall a bath tub and the second time for the bath surround walls. Both times Greg and his partner were very professional and always explaned to my wife what they were doing. I think Greg is a very honest person, the walls were special ordered and when they came in they were warped and had to be sent back for replacement. Greg notified me instead of trying to install an inferier product. He even stayed around and talked to the manufacturer to insure they knew exactly what was wrong with the walls. When the replacements arrived Greg was prompt in coming back to install them. I highly recomend McLean plumbing.

I asked him for recommendations on what to buy, and he took the time to talk about the different models and what he thought would be a good replacement. We set up an appointment time and Greg arrived as scheduled, and completed the work quickly. After he installed the disposer he happily answered a couple of questions I had about proper usage. He was friendly, polite and helpful.

+ 1 moreFound Greg on Angie's list, highly recommended. Greg provided an estimate and we agreed on an installation date. Greg arrived on time on our appointed date, with an assistant. They were clean and took care to protect my home and furniture. Greg asked detailed questions to ensure he understood exactly what I wanted. As Greg described what was possible, it became clear that my original design was suboptimal. In short, Greg was patient with and even recommended some changes which made the final result better. Greg finished the project in 2 days, as originally agreed, in spite of the changes. The estimate for the original work did not change and he was very fair in pricing the changes I made. He was clean, courteous, patient and principled. To top it off, he's a genuinely nice guy.
Description of Work: Laundry room remodel. Removed defunct well equipment, changed water heater from electric to gas, installed washer box, replaced water heater from tank to tankless, moved and replaced water softener, stubbed for new laundry tub.

Description of Work: When I called, I first told Greg where I live, which is not in his immediate territory and asked if he worked in my town. I then told him that I wanted three new toilets and a new kitchen faucet installed. I assumed that he was agreeing to do the work because he gave me an estimate on the telephone, told me I would need to purchase the fixtures myself, and said that once they were on hand, I should call him for an appointment. I was hoping for an experienced plumber's advice on fixtures -- quality, reliability, etc.-- but, because Greg has such positive recommendations on Angie's List, I decided to go along with this plan, assuming that this was the way most plumbers worked. After the fixtures were delivered I called him for an appointment. He was driving at the time and asked me to call back to leave a message on his cell phone and that he would then call me. When he had not returned my call after THREE DAYS, I called another plumber on Angie's List who scheduled the work immediately for two days later. The next morning Greg called, saying that he had time "tomorrow" to do the work for me! I was, to say the least, surprised that he assumed that I would be standing waiting for him to appear, and he seemed surprised that I had engaged someone else after three days of waiting for his call. Had he simply told me that he did not want to do the work or that he would not be able to get around to the work quickly, I not only would have understood but also would have appreciated the way he conducts business; but to send me out to buy major fixtures, then not return my call within a reasonable time, and apparently to have little regard for my schedule does not seem to me to be good business.

+ -1 moreProbably the best plumbing experience ever. The materials for our tub remodel were coming in much sooner than anticipated and we needed to get our plumbing in place. We found Greg McLean on Angie's List. We contacted him, he came out and gave us an estimate the following day, and was working the job 3 days later. He was at our house over 4 days. He laid out his plan of attack and adhered closely to it. The water to the house was shut off only 6 hours while the water lines in the basement were replaced. We were never without water in the evening. I no longer have to worry about old, worn out galvanized plumbing.
Description of Work: We are doing a remodel of our second-story bathroom. We decided to replace our remaining galvanized water lines with copper in the basement and bathroom. We contracted with McLean Plumbing because of his good reviews on Angie’s List and are happy that we did. McLean Plumbing replaced the existing galvanized plumbing in the basement with copper, disconnected the old galvanized water lines to second floor, installed shutoff valves to new water lines to the second floor, installed new copper water lines to the second floor, installed new copper water lines with shutoff valves to the toilet, the sink and the bathtub in the second-story bathroom, installed new flooring, and installed a new toilet. The also had to cut into a wall for access to the bathroom plumbing and repaired the wall after installing and testing the new water lines. Greg McLean kept us abreast of his plan of attack for the day to minimize the impact on us. He always arrived when he said he would and worked only our job until it was finished. They swept up after themselves at the end of the day. Their plumbing work is clean, neat, and precise. I believe I finally found a plumber I can trust. I highly recommend McLean Plumbing.

+ 0 moreMy ancient (24 years!) water heater finally gave up the ghost on a Sunday, deciding to start leaking from all of its corroded areas simultaneously, making quite a mess. Called Greg on a Sunday evening, got an appointment right away (he replaced the water heater on a Tuesday morning) and the only reason it wasn't on Monday was because I wanted to clean up my messy basement a bit first. In and out in less than 3 hours, which included removing gas heater from the tiny little nook behind all the other HVAC/laundry room stuff, putting in a new one, and pointing out this horrid bit in my ductwork right at the chimney that I had not even seen (and replacing that after a trip to Home Depot to get the part). Highly recommended and I'll definitely call McLean again next time I need a plumber. I'll even put my name on this review. - Dan Szymborski

+ -1 moreAbout a week previously, we discovered that water had leaked into a cabinet that is built into the wall of our finished basement. I had tried to fix the issue myself by replacing the seal on a toilet on the second floor of the house. Unfortunately, I found that this did not remove the source of the water. I called McLean Plumbing based upon the reviews that I'd read on Angie's List. The owner indicated that their schedule was tight, but if they had a chance, he would call me to let know. As it turns out, they had a customer that delayed an appointment, which left an opening for us. When they arrived, I showed the area where the water was leaking. I described the work that I had performed in the bathroom upstairs, at which time they had asked if we had another bathroom, which we do. Within seconds of showing the other bathroom, the plumber found the true source of the issue. The toilet in the other bathroom proceeded to drain water into the floor area. From that point on, they were professional, courteous, and friendly. I asked about a few other items, including a flushing issue from another toilet in the house, and they took care of it right away. I asked about the potential for remodeling the problem bathroom, and they made some very helpful suggestions. There is no longer water leaking into our basement cabinet. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend McLean Plumbing to anyone who is in need of plumbing services.

He replaced a cartridge in the bathtub fixture. He returned several weeks later and with an assistant removed the old faucet in the pedestal sink and replaced new fixtures. He gave me more than the 2 hours and was courteous and informative. This was above and beyond any expectation. You will be very happy to have him take care of your plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Greg McClean gave me an estimate for extensive plumbing. He came back and repaired a cartridge in the bathtub fixture and replaced the faucet in the bathroom pedestal sink. He was on time, caring, professional and did a great job. He explained things and took time to make sure I was totally satisfied. I would recommend him for ALL plumbing jobs.
