The company installed a hot water heater for me a little over 3 years ago through Lowes. A fitting that should not usually break after only 3 years, broke. At first the company told me that they only guarantee workmanship/labor for 1 year, so I would have to pay for the service call and repair. The plumber who came to fix the broken fitting said that the original installation was actually not done exactly the way it should have. As a result, the plumber repaired the broken fitting and actually changed some things to avoid it from breaking again in the future. The nice thing was that I was not charged for the repair. It is nice to see that a company takes responsibility when it supposed to. Greatly appreciated.

Went to one of the big home improvement stores and purchased a new water heater. They contracted Water Heaters Plus to do the install. About a week after the install I heard pipes banging together in the basement. I went down to find my vent pipes hanging and disconnected. As I traced the pipes, I found the installer had actually also cut 3 pipe hangers so the new install would align better with the existing vent pipes. He didn't use glue to connect the pipes together and cut the safety devices (pipe hangers) that keep the pipes hanging correctly so the gases could vent. I also found loose screws and flux on my basement floor. (last photo shows the cut pipe hanger next to my re-install) Called the home improvement company and they sent another company to do a complete re-install. In my opinion, the install was criminal.

I evaluated 14 A rated Companies on Angie's List and received 6 direct quotes; other quotes were found in reviews. Water Heater replacement in my view is very expensive for what you get. Only two other providers were in the price range of Water Heaters Plus who is a subcontractor for Home Depot. An advantage to using Home Depot was I could look at all the Water Heaters, evaluate them and choose the best one for my situation - they carry Rheem which is a high quality Water Heater. Water Heater Plus was able to come out within one day while the other two were not available that quickly. A problem with the former install was the release valve was not easily accessible and I talked with the install tech. and he insured his install was proper. I was also able to get a 9 year warranty for what it would have cost me for a 6 year warranty at the other two vendors. The other 12 Vendors were $100s of dollars more. The appointment was scheduled. I was called 1/2 hour before arrival and the tech arrived on time and in a timely fashion removed the old water heater and installed the new one along with the drip pan which I provided. I received a call a few days later for a for a followup inspection which I scheduled and went smoothly. Home Depot called a few days after the install to make sure I was satisfied with the service. Everything went smoothly and I was highly satisfied with this service.

The technician was great, but somehow the service call we had scheduled to replace the water heater tank didn't get onto their calendar so I waited at home one afternoon, called at the end of the 4-hour window, and learned that they had made this oversight. They did give me a discount when they came later that week and installed it. All went well with the installation.

We bought a new kitchen faucet when ours was leaking, but decided the job was too difficult for us. Then we discovered our powder room toilet was leaking, probably due to a broken wax seal. We called Water Heaters Plus and requested David Julian on a Monday. He was available on Wednesday. David Julian and another plumber were prompt, courteous, and able to get both jobs done in an hour. We were very impressed with the quality of their work and their professionalism. We have used them in the past, and we will always call them first.

Sent a "trainee" to do the work. Trainee did good work welding pipes. However, the "trainee" Installed a new water pressure reduction valve upside down which resulted in serious "banging" of our pipes. Causing us to wonder what future damage might result. Trainee also had to come back several times to fix unfinished issues. (e.g. upside down installation of shower fixture cover). In summary: Inattention to detail, not thorough.

This company exceeded my expectations - twice! First, the original install was a typical scenario - unexpected discovery of leaking water heater in basement, needed short notice replacement. PowerVent water heaters are a little atypical, not as readily available, and require specialized install skills. Many water heater contractors don't work with them. Barb in the office worked especially hard to locate the right model asap, made special pickup arrangements, and got technicians to make my house for the install with the unit as soon as it was available. Absolutely the quickest replacement/install I could have gotten under the circumstances and cut days off a typical timeframe using "normal" ordering procedures. This was a huge benefit with a family of 5 taking cold showers! Second, about 17 months after the install - one of the supply line ball valves sprang a leak and was spraying water in the basement. Not the water heater. A valve on the supply pipe went bad / corroded / disintegrated. Somewhat urgent since the bad valve prohibited an isolated shut off of just the water heater, requiring shutoff of whole house water supply to stop the leak - no water in entire house, hot or cold. I expected to pay for emergency service because 1 year warranty on installation work had long expired. Instead, I was told "a valve should last longer than 18 months and this shouldn't happen, we'll fix it for free". A technician was at my house less than 2 hours after I placed the call. Kevin is a friendly, skilled & knowledgeable tech - had all service restored in an hour. The quick / complimentary service call was even more exceptional since it was a failed/defective part, not poor workmanship on their part. In summary - a company that works exceptionally hard upfront to meet your needs / situation. They also stand firmly behind their work, even beyond the terms of their written warranty.

Horrible. I bought a Water Heater from Home Depot and they referred me to 2Crew (who are jerks) for installation. 2Crew set us up with Water Heaters Plus. The estimate I received was the cost of the water heater, $458.00, and an additional $459.00 to pick it up and install. They ended up charging us $1856.00!!!!!!!!! Jeff showed up and turned the 1.5 hour project into a 4.5 hour ordeal. Although we have had water heaters easily replaced before, he said he had to remove and replace the stack, cut copper pipes, remove and replace the gas line, then felt the need to replace the expansion tank. Jeff says he told my husband, he was doing these things, but at no time did he say that it was beyond what was in the estimate. On top of all of this, we had NO water on the carpet in our finished basement until Jeff did his 'work' and the carpet was flooded. I had to use the shop-vac to get up the gallons and gallons of water! I tried to resolve this with Water Heaters Plus but they never returned the 5 messages I left. I'm not saying the work wasn't done, but that they charged for work that should have been under the normal install and did extra work that we had no idea would cost over $900.00 and the work was sloppy. On top of everything else, we now have no water pressure in our basement after the install! I suggest using any other plumber than Water Heaters Plus.

The technician arrived early in the scheduled window, called ahead as promised, and replaced the parts with those I had obtained from the manufacturer. Originally I bought a water softner at Lowe's and this was the installation company they set me up with. Just when I was about to set up an appointment to have water softner installed my water heater went out. One small job turned into a large job which involved me having to call to have electrical work done in my basement. In the same week I was having water heater and water softner installed. The installer (Kevin) told me I needed some electrical work done in order for my water heater to work. For some reason he thought that since I was having a water heater and water softner installed in the same week I may not be able to afford the electrical work. So he suggested that I cancel the appointment I had later that week for the water softner. Well Lowe's doesn't set up appointments until all of it is paid up front so the water softner appt didn't matter. In the end it wasn't an electrical problem that I had it turned out to be a switch on my pressure tank. Kevin said his company was unfamiliar with the rural well set up and how he's use to city plumbing. Overall Kevin and his partner were polite and patient with the whole process they tried to help me out and went above and beyond some of the other companies I have called out.

Long story short.....home depot sold me a water heater then sent me through Water Heaters Plus for installation. The actual installation went fine however the installer refused to remove the old unit even though that was part of my paid service. He claimed it was unsafe to move because the whole unit was falling apart as soon as he moved it. Once he left i inspected the unit and found nothing but a missing leg. Nothing was found that would have made it unsafe to move. In my opinion the installer was lazy and simply did not want the hassle of removing it and decided to put the burden on me. I called Home Depot with my complaint and they have been working with Water Heaters Plus to return and finish the job. Its been 3 days now and i have yet to hear anything from Water Heatets Plus. They told Home Depot they would be back out the next day to fix but never showed or called leaving me wasting another day sitting at home waiting. The installer also left very noticeable trash in my yard right where he parked. He couldnt have missed it and simply left it there for me to clean up. As far as im concerned until they pick up my old unit that i paid for them to remove they are no better than thiefs!

I had problems with their service. A part was broken of the water heater on installing while moving it. They had to come in the next day and replace the part. They were forced to put it under warranty which was a good thing. The problem was with the broken part, which happened while transporting the water heater. It took me about 4 days to get the water heater installed, it would have taken me just 2-3 hours. I would look at a different company. If I did not get anyone else I would have to use them.

Brian installed the water heater in the same basement space as before. The only new installation regulation that was needed was the requirement of a water catch pan. He installed it and the plumbing to the drain for it. He cleaned up after the install.
Description of Work: After looking at the Rheem water heaters at a local Home Depot, I ordered a 50 gal Performance Plus model through their ordering phone number. Home Depot then assigned the install the next day to Water Heaters Plus. Brian arrived on time and installed the water heater in approx. 2 hours. Great job and great price at Home Depot and through Water Heaters Plus. The price was less than other plumbers and tanks that I priced.

Called for estimate. Came and gave estimate and had to check a further requirement for estimate on different size/year warranty. Called back and I authorized new requirement and cost. Came on time (and so efficient) water was only off about 20 min with job completed before 2 hours. Old tank drain valve frozen so old water laden moved to sump hole where nozzle had to be broken off. Vent cap, drain overflow safety and feed valve replaced. Outstanding watching and learning from Scott - the installer.
Description of Work: Replaced my 30+ year old water heater. Added new code cut off valve and catch basin. Outstanding performance with solder attachments. First priority was to get water back on then continue replacement, clean up and remove old tank. =

I called them at 9am for an indoor water leak soaking my basement ceiling. Was told the scheduler would call me back. I sat home for 3 hours waiting. Finally I called back, and was told I must have talked to the nanny earlier. This person identified herself as the billing agent, and once again said she would pass on the request to the scheduler, who was "on the other line; we're very busy." She stated she was unable to give me any more information, specifically could not say when I might be called back, not even if it would be the same day. Very unprofessional office/scheduling experience.
