Incompetence at it's best!

My experience with Allen Taylor Roofing was not so good. We had agreed to replace the rear roofing shingles of the house & removal of all the old flashing trim on the second story & install new on both front & rear of the house. The rear flashing trim & shingles turned out half way decent but that is all that was done. I got a call from them wanting to be paid, I said I would be happy to pay up but when are they going to finish the job? The lady on the phone said the job was completed. I then told her the job was not finished because they never touched the front of the house for removal & replace all the old flashing. She says I'll have to get back to you. A guy calls later & said Allen Taylor is out of town & only had written down work to be done on the rear of the house. I said we had agreed that the front flashing would be removed & replaced as well, he then said he'll get right on it & complete the job. So one day I get a call that they were at the house finishing the flashing work on the front & would I meet him there to have a look & pay the balance. The crew were in process of still working on the house & we walked around to the rear to inspect the work. There are 2 plumbing vents on the roof that the new shingles were put on & I noticed one vent pipe leaning at a 45 degree angle & I asked him, is that pipe broken? He gets a ladder, gets on the roof & touches it & said it's stable & should be ok. In my mind I new that pipe had to be broken since it is a metal pipe. So I had to leave & I paid the bill thinking everything we agreed upon would be done Some time later I went up on the roof to check out that pipe & it is indeed broken. The guy "head of the work crew" straight out lied to me! I knew that rain water would leak down onto my kitchen ceiling & something had to be done quick so I cut a hole in my kitchen ceiling to see if I could fix the pipe & then I could see the broken pipe was busted in half that they had broken. While looking at the damaged pipe, I noticed daylight coming from the second vent pipe. So I get back on the roof to see where the daylight was coming from. The rubber collar was cut so poorly that it looked like a 1st grader did it with a pair of scissors & was Not even close to a good fit. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! This is the kind of work that I paid for? Finally I repaired the 2 vent pipes my self because I couldn't wait if I didn't want more damage from rain leaking in. Also they never finished the flashing on the front of the house as to what we agreed on,' it was more like a quick patch job.

The team at Taylor Roofing is FANTASTIC. Unfortunately, we've grown accustomed to having to chase down home contractors for appointments, quotes and responses to our questions. Taylor Roofing stopped this trend. From our first contact, Taylor Roofing has been responsive and has exceeded expectations. When we first called for a quote, they explained up front that their schedule was booked and that there might be a delay in visiting our home. Much to our delight, they came the same weekend. A written (and very reasonably priced) quote arrived in our mailbox two days later. Then, when my husband and I were delayed a few weeks in responding, they actually called us to follow up! We have had multiple home projects completed over the last two years and Taylor Roofing is the first to follow up on our business. They made every effort to work around our (sometimes very difficult) schedule for installation, and the crew arrived exactly at the time promised. Everyone we have encountered at Taylor Roofing has been professional, courteous and competent. The job was finished on time, at a very reasonable price, and it looks great. We will be recommending Taylor Roofing to all of our friends and neighbors.

Problems with weather and transitions of project management personal held up the start of the job, but they completed as requested. UPDATE: Warrenty was paid for and never recievd as of June 25, 2013. Numerous calls have been made and legal action is pending.

At the request of our tenant, Taylor Roofing was asked to look at the roof on a facade to our house that was leaking badly. The company was doing work in the area so this was not a separate trip for them. The person at Taylor Roofing later talked to my husband by phone as we live in Massachusetts. Taylor Roofing wanted to remove the false porch and therefore change the appearance of the front of the house in order to repair the roof leak. My husband found this unacceptable. I am unsure if an estimate was given at this time. My husband briefly mentioned this contact to me. SInce we still could not find a person to repair the roof, some time later when I was in Steubenville I contacted Taylor Roofing. The gentleman with whom I spoke stated that he had talked to my husband who was unsatisfied with the suggested solution and he felt it would be a waste of his time to meet me. I started that I was now going to make the decision on the work and I asked for him to come out again and explain to me what he wanted to do and give me an estimate . He reluctantly agreed to do so. However, he never showed up and we eventually hired someone else to do the work.

Taylor roofing came and gave me an estimate of 300-350 and scheduled a date to do the work. The work was actually done a day early for the lower estimate of 300. I would recommend taylor roofing to everyone!
