Fenced In Fence Company

I don't believe they should be listed on Angie's list as I had a terrible experience and they were not professional. I wrote in E-mail to the company asking them if they could/would do the work I was asking as it was more repair than installation. I was called a few days later and informed that they would be happy to do the work. On the phone, I was asked to do several measurements as they were busy and could not make it out to my house, so I wrote them down and sent back the measurements requested via E-mail. They called with a quote which I accepted and an appointment was set up, and one man showed up on the appointed day to do the work. He knocked on my door several times asking for ice and ice water and then a towel to wipe his sweat on. I admit the day he worked on the fence it was 97 degrees but don't you think you should show up with enough water and your own towel to wipe sweat on? Then he informed me that the gate looked too big to fit and asked what I had measured. I told him and he instantly said "you measured it wrong" to which I replied I was following the instructions as I understood them. I said, well then just don't put the gate on and he said "I will make it fit". He put the gate on and left but the gate did not fit properly nor could it be opened in both directions. That night our two dogs escaped because the gate did not fit right and would have been killed had not been for our neighbor who found them in the street and was kind enough to take them home and contact us later as we were at a wedding. I contacted the company and discussed that the gate did not fit right, and the first words out of his mouth were "you did not measure it right", to which I said you did not give clear enough instruction nor a diagram I could look at. The Fence Company did not take any responsibility for the mishap and it cost me an extra $300 to have a new gate made and installed. They showed up without an appointment when no one was home to install the new gate but I wanted to keep the gate which I paid for but did not fit and was not given that opportunity but they will surely use it for someone else and make extra money. This is an abbreviated version on the exchanges but it was not a good experience nor are they professionals.

The facts: Chaz and I signed a written agreement that a fence would be installed within a week of April 29th (day the permit was approved). Contract was signed 3 days prior. Normally I would just buy the supplies (cedar pickets, 2x4's, posts) but was told that "Eadfence.com" was running a SALE and since they use them regularly I'd be getting a big discount if I let Chaz and his helper buy the supplies. May 3rd Chaz dug the holes, and May 5th he put in the posts. He told my wife May 5th (we'd have a fench in tomorrow (Monday). 8 days went by without hearing from Chaz despite NUMBEROUS phone calls, texts, emails. Finally he returns my call and says he'll "be up Wednesday to install the fence" and he's "very sorry". Wednesday - no call, no show. Doesn't return calls. Same for Thursday and Friday. At this point I'm tired of being held hostage by this guy and Friday I had discovered his criminal record so I knew I'd never see or hear from him again. I also had called Ead's fence and they told me that no one had bought that many cedar pickets AND they'd NEVER HEARD of CHAZ Smith. This will be posted repeatedly on the Cincinnati and Columbus Craigslist. Chaz Smith and Laura Smith have repeatedly been in trouble with the law for not paying bills. They also apparently give out random Wilmington addresses when summoned to appear in court so they can't be served. Chaz is now operating under "Dig-It Tree and Fence Company" and uses these phone numbers: (513) 344-0135 and (513)429-0786. He uses this email: fencedin2011@yahoo.com Don't be another victim of Chaz. Find a trustworthy person to do your fence and/or trees.
