I excused them from the job. Why? Because they were not only charging me over $400/hour labor because they likely do that to everyone who knows no better, but, due to POOR diagnostics that took a 5 minute google search to determine ON MY OWN, would have ended up not fixing the problem in the first place. The zoning board I had was for the old heat pump and would never work for me in both heat and cold in the new system. A simple lookup of the existing model would have shown the problem in a minute. Took me 45 MINUTES to fix this myself and I was moving SLOW! HORRIBLE! The tech also managed to mess up a thermostat backplate to the state of disrepair....so I just changed it out as well.
Description of Work: Mike Rowe has it right when he speaks about the problems in the United States in the skilled trades. Bill Reynolds Heating and Air Conditioning is an example of this. Let me preface this by saying that no one seems to know what they are doing anymore in the skilled trades. For example, I've ended up learning more than a journeyman HVAC tech knows just trying to understand the many ways I've been screwed over by the inept ability of the HVAC techs I've had at my home. Bill Reynolds was called to service when my AC stopped working. I could immediately tell that this was a blower issues (because the blower wasn't working (duh). The fellow after hours came by and told me it was something else immediately and that there was nothing he could do until Monday (and proceeded to say what the service fee for after hours was going to be anyhow). I then explained why he was wrong. He agreed after ten minutes of fumbling around and left having me pay the 140-160 bucks for nothing. Fine. I'll eat the cost. The parts came in, they replaced them. Eventually the fan worked. No big deal. I asked that thery check the thermostat and control board connections and test the heat while there (to make sure that everything is operational). No problem, they said they checked it. Had no reason to believe they didn't. Well, they didn't check it. So I just recently called them to fix that issue. First excuse an HVAC company gives you is that they didn't install the furnace.....this isn't rocket science folks....it's wires, replaceable circuits and basic HVAC theory. Something I'd rather not spend the 40 hours to learn so that's why I pay someone else...Then they said that the control board needs replaced. Fine. Lets do that. Called the next day to ask if the part was ordered and when I could expect them back to replace (so I can have heat). Have to call me back. Called them in the morning, then lunch, then a few hours later. Have to call me back. I ordered the part myself overnighted ($128 with tax and shipping) just in case they were just being lazy at the office. The service tech finally called me back with attitude and said that they shoulda called him because the part WAS ordered and should be available next day with luck. Then he quoted me over $500. For what he even agreed is an hour of work. "I don't make the prices." "We have overhead". I told them where they can stick their services and I, as always, will figure out your job for you. STEER CLEAR!

Description of Work: We have a maintenance contract with them for both air conditioning and furnace. there was a leak somewhere after they did the A/C check-up; they came to the house the very next day after we called and fixed the problem. We have used them for years and are extremely satisfied with their work.

They provided the service two years ago. I don't recall the price. They were very thorough and efficient. They came on weekends when I called and they got the job done efficiently and cleanly.
