+ -1 moreGot quote for seasonal lawn mowing in early April. Returned contract. Called him a week later, he said he didn't get the contract so I emailed it to him. Said they would start mowing around the end of the month. Emailed him on Tuesday of last week of April. He responded promptly that they would be out by Friday if not sooner. On Saturday morning I emailed him asking what had happened? He answered promptly saying they would be out in a few minutes - never came. I emailed again on Saturday evening but got no answer. On Monday I emailed him to say I would have to find someone else.

+ 1 moreWhen I moved to this house from an apartment, I had no tools or equipment for outdoors. I contacted Miller Lawn Services, and they immediately started taking care of my lawn. Due to circumstances beyond their control (my sprinkler system froze over the winter) my lawn died this year, since the original builder just laid sod over hard clay, and the dry summer finished it off. Miller Lawn Services came out and gave me a quote for the lawn and for redoing the beds in front of the house. My budget for the beds was a little tight, but they worked with me to bring it back in to budget. The following week, the crew came out and in two days, tore out the old sod, and replaced it with quality top soil. They went above and beyond by repurposing some of the plants from my front beds to fill in the beds in the back yard. The whole crew was very professional and always on task. I've been working from home, so I was able to observe the entire process. I haven't compared prices, but I feel I got a great deal and an excellent result for my money. I would highly recommend them to others. Also, shout out to Mario - he was in charge of the project, from the lawn to designing the beds and working with me with some good suggestions, and also listening to my preferences. Included are some before and after pictures of the beds.

+ -1 moreI gave them my address. Instead of coming out, they wanted to send me a contract and have me pay them up front. They later said I could pay half now and half later. Their price was $200 plus tax for my mobile home lot. He then lied and made up an excuse to lower the price. He was rude and I told them I was not going to hire them.

+ -1 moreThey came out to my house a total of ONE time this entire season. And I had to call and complain three times to get that. There's been a dozen snow days that were enough for them to come out, but they never have. I currently have several inches of snow on my drive from two days worth of snowfall and they haven't come out. Phone calls, emails, web site requests, even Angie's List messages... all go unanswered. I paid for an entire season in advance and they just took my money, only plowed once, and ignore all communication. This place is a total scam.

+ 1 moreAgain, Miller Lawn Service did a great job. They were prompt and came out per our contract. They even came back, not that the winter season is over, to patch some of the area of the grass that got scraped during the plow process. Very minimal damage, and only required some raking up dirt and dropping seed. We are sadly moving out of their range for snow plowing and will miss the great service they have provided us.

Description of Work: My lawn had several issues (shrubs pruned, wood chips removed, flower beds established, low areas filled and leveled). Steve Miller came out and looked at everything. He offered great suggestions on how to deal with some of the problem areas. He was able to see the overall picture and was not just focused on the tasks. He offered suggestions to reduce cost but gave me choices. The work was done on time and with great attention to detail. I was very pleased and have already scheduled additional work.

Description of Work: This provider was actually referred to us by another lawn care company that we currently use. We got in touch for Spring Clean-up. He answered right away, and was very friendly! But he said he would show up and give us an estimate that day, or the next, and leave the estimate in the mail box. He never showed up. I made a follow-up call the next business day and left a message inquiring about what might have happened, and I never got a call back. Giving them the befit of the doubt, I called a third time, and he answered again. I asked what had happened, and he explained that he did come, did make an estimate, but didn't want to upset the mail man, so he decided to mail it to me instead of leaving it in our box himself. I told him we never got the estimate in the mail. He was very sweet and apologetic and said he would stop out one more time, again, that same day, or the next and re-write it; this time leaving it in the mailbox himself. AGAIN, he never showed up, and I have not heard from him. So unprofessional, and very unreliable. Since he was referred, I had trust in this company to come through, and thus postponed getting in touch with other companies for spring clean-up. Now our yard is still a mess, and has been delayed by two weeks because this company made promises to show and couldn't follow through. I made sure that the referring company that we currently use learned about the situation, too.

Description of Work: We use Miller landscaping for weekly grass cutting during the summer months. They do an excellent job. Cost - $40/week. We also use them for leaf collection, bed clean up, and occasional landscaping. We have found them to be responsive, timely, and willing/able to meet our requests and budget constraints.
