The yard clean up efforts went well. Work was done and we were satisfied.

Excellent! The transformation is amazing. Steve and his crew arrived only 2 days after I first contacted them for an estimate and completed the work in one day. We got a fantastic value for our money. This is the 2nd year in a row that we have used them and continue to be impressed with the work they do.

Overall, the quality of the work was pretty good. I felt like they did a fairly good job. The price that I was quoted ended up being much different than the final price. I should've gotten it in writing.

They did a lot of good things for us. They did a lot of things not related to lawn care. He is sort of a general handyman. We thought we were going to have to spend $5,000 to get the aluminum siding redone and he said that he would just paint that. He got paint that matched and you can't tell. He did a good job there. They have done very well with what they have done. I would probably have them back if I have something that needs to be done. They put insulation in the front door and the light still shines through so it is not tight. The guy was going to come back and fix it. I've called him twice and no response so I'm not satisfied with that. Their price and quality was pretty good. The landscaping was expensive. They tore out carpet and padding and removed the staples. They hung some rods. They worked well with us.

The person who came worked fine. His price was reasonable. He did not do what he did not want to do. He had to clear the molt around the trees the last year that he did not do and he wanted to do it this year. I rejected his offer and told him that I will do it myself. He is quite faithful with the mowing. He was prompt.

Steve Hall responded to my email request for an estimate immediatley. He was proffesional, and offered all the services I was looking for from a single service provider. I'd say his pricing is average, and he'll invoice me once a month for services. This week the crew showed up as scheduled for mowing. They mowed, edged, and did leaf removal. Before Steve returned my call, I was having a hard time getting other lawn services to give me estimates. I'd talk to them on the phone and they said they would come out, but they never did. I'm very happy with Steve and his professionalism.

Overall the experience with them has been good. I need to talk to them about what we are going to do with the leaves once they come down. It is satisfactory. They show up once a week. They mow the lawn with the same frequency that I did when I mowed myself, so I have no complaints there. I do have one problem with the zero turn mowers that they use. The big tire leaves a bare spot when the tire swivels and turns.

Contacted Hall's Lawncare after reading the Angie's List reviews and because they are located near us. My husband called about the gutter cleaning and was quoted $175. We were told the price was higher due to the hazardous height to reach the gutters in the back of the house. This didn't surprise us since we were unwilling to clean the gutters ourselves due to the height and steep roof. I believe it took a little under a week before they were able to show up. Our only minor complaint was not knowing each day if they'd been there since we assumed they'd arrive while we were at work. My husband walked around the house each day looking for gutter residue to see if they'd been there. I suggest leaving a business card tucked in the front door to announce that the job is done. After they cleaned them (we knew the job was done due to the residue), my husband called back to find out how full the gutters were and received a prompt call back with the answer that they were extremely clogged (as we had suspected). About a week after they cleaned them, we had an torrential downpour and were very happy that the gutters worked properly. The bill arrived in the mail a few days after the work was completed.

Called Steve who said he could come then.. He said it was easier for his men if he picked up mulch instead of my having it delivered. They came, they spread, they left! The crew of 5 including the owner worked efficiently . Steve planted a rosebush for me & another man hacked at a bush I was trying to remove. I expect to rehire in the fall.

Overall, it went well. I contacted them after seeing their name on Angie's List. Tim Matthews, who is the landscaping supervisor came over and we toured our yard and discussed what to do. He seemed very knowledgeable about the different plants and trees and where to place which ones. I didn't hear from him and had to call Steve Hall, the owner. I got a call back from Tim apologizing because of the heavy work load. After that, the communication was better. I told him that we needed the job done by a certain day and it was. My husband and I are pleased by the results. He did add some things in so our original estimate was higher but I agreed to all the additions and he told me some of the additional costs up front before he did them. We have trouble keeping landscapers. I hope we will have Halls as our landscapers for many years to come.

I called Hall's for a very functional project, to raise my yard to prevent water getting in my basement, but was pleasently surprised by how far and above Hall's went over my expectations. I was most surprised by was all the little extra touches that made my yard not only work better, but look so much better too. I was very happy with my results. Tim, my landscaper, took the time to explain everything that was done and left my yard looking much better than when he arrived. He even used beautiful river rocks where my new drain pipes came out which I was not expecting and looked so great in my landscape. I would not hesitate to call Hall's again with any future projects.

EXCELLENT! I've use Steve's services before to do some yard work, so when I saw his company listed for gutter cleaning, I stopped looking! I sent an email on the weekend describing what I wanted to have done. He called me the following Monday with an estimate. My house is old & very tall, so the estimate was very, very reasonable. When I made my initial contact with Steve it was in February, too early to have this work done. I told Steve to schedule at his convenience & let me know before doing the work. He did exactly that. He called me at work, wanted to do the job that day because it was going to rain the next day. I gave him the go ahead. when I came home from work (about 6pm) he was just finishing up. He & his associate did a fabulous job & carefully cleaned up & took away the 'gutter gunk' Thanks Steve!

They are reliable, don't use subcontractors, they are extremely knowledgeable in horticulture, and I will continue to use them.

They were the only company that said they would remove the snow from the sidewalk as well as the driveway. He also said that he would discount the price if he could find more work in my area. They were very personable.

I have been using Steve Hall since spring of 2006. At first we were very pleased, as he seemed to judge when the lawn needed to be cut and varied the interval to match the growth of the lawn. He tended to cut the grass fairly tall and I liked this as the health of the lawn was good even during dry spells and it tended to keep weed from growing. This year has been very different. His team seems to have lost their professionalism. The grass is cut much shorter and with less care, he "weed eatered" two small trees that I had planted this Summer. And this year he charged us for service nearly every week from April through Nov 26, even during the slow grass growing portion of the late Summer and Fall. He charged us for at least one week when no service was performed. The past two services were mysteriously charged at $60 rather than $45.

The whole experiences was wonderful! I emailed Steve on a Saturday morning, figuring he'd call sometime Mon. or Tues... To my surprise he called me within a few hours, explained how how he schedules & pricing. We agreed that he would do the work sometime the following week (weather permitting). He called me at work Weds. afternoon & the job was finished. It was very nice to come home to a clean yard & patio. I look forward to having my family over for Thanksgiving & not have to worry about them trudging through a bunch of leaves & bringing them into my house! You can't beat service like this! From the time I first made contact to completion of the work....5 days!!

Excellent. Tim Mathews was very enthusiastic and professional. He provided a plan and sent us pictures of the plants and tree's he was looking to put in. They were very professional and the owner Steve Hall also came out twice. We had a tree cut down and several stumps removed. In all we are very pleased.

When I contracted the service, I verbally agreed to a lower price, but when I received my invoice it was higher. I talked to Steve live and asked that the lower price be reflected and he agreed, but the invoice continues to be higher. I called again to resolve but did not receive a call back, and I just continue to receive higher invoices and I pay a lower amount. I have to admit that I need to resolve this, and if it cannot be resolved we will look for a new service next season.

Everything went great. I called him to start service and he came as needed.

It went very well according to my mother. I live in Pittsburgh so have not personally met Tim Matthews of Halls Lawn Care LLC. I only spoke with him on the phone. I have since visited my mother and did get a change to look at their work. They did a wonderful job.

I originally called Hall's because I was getting such terrible customer service from the landscaping company we'd selected for our spring cleanup. At the last minute, that other vendor came through, so we didn't use Hall's for that job. When it came time to go on vacation, I called Hall's to mow our lawn while we were gone. They were able to accommodate us on short notice. After returning from vacation, we realized we needed some extensive help with weeding and weed control in our plant beds. Hall's was able to get me on the schedule within just a few days, and the work was done on time. Tim and Bear did the work, and they were a real pleasure to deal with - very friendly and efficient. Tim took the time to explain to me what they had done, which plants were which (I don't know much about plants or landscaping and I'm new to the region as well) and which plants and weeds needed some special attention. Overall it was a good experience and I plan to use them for any lawn/yard/landscaping needs I have down the road.

Mr. Hall and his company delivers exactly as promised. We initially hired him for a month to take care of our lawn, now we have him do it regularly. Each time his crew has done a marvelous job in every possible way - they are fast yet very thorough. Our lawn looks better than ever - the quality of their work could not be better. Mr. Hall responds promptly to emails and phone calls. I highly recommend him, without reservations.

I thought that Tim Matthews did an excellent job. His attitude was always positive and helpful. Nothing was a problem. He had ideas and solutions for my yard. He said what he was going to do and he did it. He saved some of my daffodil bulbs and will replant them for me later this fall. I am going to use them for "phase 2" of my yard makeover.
