H Jack's Plumbing & Heating Co

H Jack's guys (George & Tony) came just 2 hours after calling H Jack's and were right on time. They did a fine job. They couldn't get their industrial size snake past the initial tight drain pipe bends so they suggested putting in a "mission joint" in a straight pipe section after the bends. Basically a rubber section of tubing to allow a straight entry into the clogged pipe with the snake line (additional $125). After this addition they snaked out the food clog and the drain pipe flowed fine. They worked for just under 2 hours and I'm glad I didn't tackle the job because since it took the pro's 2 hours to get it done, it would have probably taken me 5 hours to do the same thing.

It went great. He was professional and quickly set about assessing the situation. He had it opened in about 1.5 hrs.

They were very professional and punctual.

They came out the very next morning after the storm and used a camera to see if out storm lines were blocked. Everything is clear, they recommended that we think about waterproofing another portion of our basement walls.

Our tube wasn't draining at all. We tried various drain cleaners and plunging it ourselves, but it was totally clogged. H. Jack's got to our house in about 20 minutes. They fixed the problem quickly-it drains better now than it has it years!

Made emergency visit on Christmas. Took 2 days to come out. Employee not familiar with all electric systems and did not fix. Called again and repairman improperly installed part. Had to call them out 2 more times until it was properly fixed. Not overly concerned that we had to keep calling to get system repaired. Did not offer discount for our troubles.

They were fast and courteous, especially considering the fact that it was a holiday weekend.

They were very patient with our suggestions and eager to explain things. They worked well with us, listening to our needs and helped design a solution from scratch that best served what we were looking for. The person who was in charge of the team was the one who got down and did the dirty work, I was impressed with that, he didn't just stand there and order them around but took an active role in the work. There was one small problem where a pipe had separated, they were right out the next day to fix it at no charge.

In February of 2007, water poured through the ceiling of the first floor bathroom. I frantically called plumbers but since it was after 11:00 PM, only one company responded: H Jack's. The men came the next morning early, worked hard, and had everything in excellent working order by the end of the day.

At first they were great but I felt they tried to take advantage of me on return visits.

I was cooking dinner early Thanksgiving morning when I noticed a small puddle on the kitchen floor. I looked under the sink and found a huge mess from a bad leak. I called H. Jack's Plumbing right away. I was pleasantly surprised that a woman answered the phone. I thought for sure I'd get an answering machine since it was a Holiday. She called me back in about three minutes and in twenty minutes there was a plumber at my door. He was so nice--wished us a Happy Thanksgiving right away and said he'd try to be as fast as possible so we could get on with dinner. He had to replace everything under the sink. It was a lot of work but he finished quickly. He was such a nice young man. Our nieces and nephews were very curious about what he was doing and kept asking him questions. The plumber was so kind and patient with them. He was great!

I called H Jacks when I got home from work and found my hot water tank leaking. I talked to the lady on the phone and said they had a technician in the area. The serivce man came quickly and started removing the tank. Another service man shop up with the new tank. Scott showed me how to clean the filter on the bottom of the tank. He was very helpful, never knew it had to be done. They left everything like it was when they were finished.

I woke up in the middle of the night and discovered we had no heat. I called H. Jack Langer around 4:00 AM and was surprised that a real person answered the phone, not an answering machine! By 7:00 AM they were at my door. They wore shoe covers and were very polite. They found the problem right away. I had to replace my old furnace, which I suspected I'd have to do because it was very old. They worked quickly, were very neat and the price was great. In a few hours my home was warm again!

Two employees came out with a clipboard (not a toolbox) and inspected the drips we had. They recommended extensive work, including cutting out valves, replacing fixtures, rerouting pipes, etc. We were uncomfortable with their high pressure approach to getting our business, especially after the workers wanted a deposit, and asked us to sign a statement waiving our right to cancel the contract. We had another plumber complete the work, which only required some caulking, replacing a few washers and cutting out and replacing one valve, at 1/3 the cost quoted by H Jacks.

They were always very kind and polite. They were clean and neat and kept the mess to one room. I got exactly what I wanted. In the end I was very satisfied.

I thought they did excellent work. They solved the problem! I would use them again.

Our furnace quit working over a Friday night, lucky for us the temperature was around 10 degrees outside. We called H JACK's on Saturday to come take a look. They assessed the situation and determined the blower motor needed to be replaced. They called parts suppliers for an hour trying to find the part. They finally found a supplier who had the part in stock, but the supplier wouldn't open his store until Monday morning. H JACK's tried to get the furnace motor working temporarily, but were unable to do so. On Monday morning they got the part and were at the house at 7AM to install the motor. Since then the furnace has been fine. The H JACk's repairman was polite and responsive. It wasn't their fault that the part was not available, they did everything they could to find a part.

They were really nice, and gave some good advice.

They did a quick and efficient job. They replaced the joint down under the ground because it had rotted so they replaced it and did a great job. They put in a copper pipe up the stack so the stack would not get blocked. No problems, had all their equipment, didn't fool around.

We told them to go ahead & get started because it was such an emergency that the water was falling down on us. I felt that the price was completely unfair & inflated although the work was very good.

The plumber was late, did not know what he (they) were doing, and made a mess. The only one who was professional, was the one who tried to make excuses for the nightmare, who called me the next day. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Thank God for Vern Ellsworth, who came and finally fixed the mess.

HE WANTED ME TO PAY HIM & HE DID NOT EVEN FIX MY FURNACE.

THEY CAME AT THE AGREED UPON TIME, DID THE WORK, & CLEANED UP VERY WELL. WE HAD ANTICIPATED THAT THE DRAINS WOULD NEED SNAKED OR OTHER FURTHER WORK WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE WHEN GIVEN THE ESTIMATE. THEY INSTALLED THE TOILETS WITHOUT HAVING TO DO ANY DRAIN CLEANING OR OTHER ADDITIONAL WORK, BUT THE PRICE WAS THE SAME. LOWE'S WOULD HAVE INSTALLED FOR $99 EACH.

THIS COMPANY WAS FRIENDLY, BUT THE ESTIMATED PRICE WAS $7100.00 FOR A NEW SEWER REPLACEMENT LINE. I AM GRATEFUL TO THEM HOWEVER, BECAUSE I NEVER WOULD HAVE FOUND OUT ABOUT ANGIE'S LIST.

THEY NEVER DID FIX THE PROBLEM AFTER 3 TRIPS AND $1000. THEY OVERCHARGE FOR PARTS AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN WHEN THEY CAN. THEY ARE VERY UNETHICAL IN THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES.
