Called Wayne last year in the summer and went over some prelim plans as our house designer was finishing up the plans, but had some for him to look at and we thought get started on. We get a call a month later that Wayne has had a heart attack and he would be off schedule for a little while a few weeks at the most. We, of course, understood and told them to make sure he gets well. He called us later and told us he would be able to get started with us until September as he had to finish up the house he was working on when he had his heart attack, sill no problem as we could certainly understand you can't getting behind when you get sick. Needless to say, by the time we got started by November, we were always being told that it will be ready soon. Then we were told it would be after Christmas, January we should have the quotes, then we could go to the bank, and break ground by March. We were never told until we finally asked why it was taking so long to get a quote, the people he was getting materials from were stuck on how to do the roof! So my husband talked them through it and got the process going again. We were going to pre-panelized construction because it comes to the site ready to roll with the insulation already sandwiched between the walls. Anyway, we finally get a quote after 3 months and it is way over budget (like $200k because the framers didn't understand this building and had way too much into the process of putting the walls together). So we told them, fine scratch the pre-panelized construction and go stick build. So from the beginning we have heard every week, we will be ready by Friday, and then not ready yet, ready by Monday, and so on and so on. Same old, same old for weeks and then months. So this past Friday we were getting fed up with being told we will be ready and then not, that we were going to see Schumacher builders to at least get a quote (not necessarily going to build with them, but to perhaps., get these in gear) and Wayne got real upset that we were looking in that direction. He told us on Friday he would be ready by Monday (again) and by Tuesday or Wednesday, not sure when he told my husband, HE WASN'T GOING TO BUILD OUR HOUSE! He has wasted our time and has stressed us out so much that we can't see straight. He may very well be a good contractor, but he certainly can't get a quote to a client on time nor is he committed to finishing up what he started. Not cool!
Description of Work: Service performed has been mostly telling us we will be ready soon, and only getting one quote that was $200,000.00 more than it should have been (because the framers didn't understand how to put together a pre-panelized home, going beyond what was needed to put the house together. Never did get a second quote for a stick build. Overall has been taking over 5 months to get a quote, just a quote to go to the bank.
