Mr Hurley, Shane , and Carl were great to have working on my house. Very knowledgeable, did an excellent job. I was extremely pleased with their electrical work. They cleaned up every day and even hauled off my old fixtures for me. The old wiring was a real mess, much was hooked up wrong. They found several dangerous problems and fixed them. Mr. Hurley came out a few days after I called to look at the house and give me an estimate, then took about a week before They were able to start, but my schedule was flexible. The entire job took 6.5 days with most days 2 guys working. I highly recommend them. I am so happy I called them to do my electrical work.

Mr. Hurley quickly contacted me after I reached out they were very friendly and reasonable. They cleaned up after their selves after each day and were very respectful to my wife and mindful of my children who were napping. The electrical portion went great but the patch work afterwards was not the best. They offered to come back and work on it but I had to patch some other things not related to their job so it wasn't much of an issue for me. They also fixed a few doors that were sticking as a courtesy. He gave me a quote of 5000 and 6500 and after it was said and done we paid 5750. If I ever need a electrician in the future I would use them again and would recommend them.

Paul Hurley was GREAT to work with!! Returned my call promptly and set up appointment. He showed up on time and walked through the job with me. He had to pick up on the job halfway through, where a friend had been helping me and we got in over our heads. I really appreciated his positive attitude and how well he coordinated his electricians on the job. He was so organized and efficient -- his guys had the power turned off, the work done and inspected, and the power turned back on all in the same day!! His price was about $200 less than some others who had given me quotes, but I didn't realize his price did not include breakers, which can be expensive now that code is requiring special breakers (ground fault, I think?) that are very expensive. However, Paul was able to save me a LOT of money on the cost of the breakers by calling around and getting the best price -- so that certainly says a lot about his quality and commitment!! I highly recommend Hurley Electric and will definitely use them again!!

Hurley electric hooked up electric to my grain bin, grain bin fan, slinger, and stirrup augers. They did a professional job at a professional level. My electric box is nice and neat. I recommend them for any electrical wiring needs. House, barn, garage, anything electrical, or restored. Hurley electric will hook you up.

The guys showed up promptly 8am they did excellent work were very professional and very friendly. the job was done quickly and they cleaned up everything. you would never have known they were there I would definitely call them in the future for any other work we may need.

Amazingly well. He was a joy to work with. I thought the price was very reasonable and the work was done in one day. Would recommend and I consider him my electrical go to guy from now on.

They put in the breaker box and light switches ran my power line under ground

The microwave suddenly stopped working and I discovered the kitchen sockets were also not working. I checked the fuse box and no fuses were tripped. I called Mr Hurley's office. Well within a half an hour he called me back. I explained the problem and he went over a few common things to check. When those didn't work he said he would be right over. He wasn't kidding. He arrived at my house within an hour. He began to troubleshoot and quickly found an issue in my fuse panel. He fixed the problem and even replaced a kitchen socket that had a small crack in it. Overall, from my call to when he completed his work was under 2 hours. Mr. Hurley's responsiveness, and the Angie's list discount he gave me, were outstanding. He was extremely prompt and friendly; professional and competent. I will not hesitate to call Mr Hurley again for any future electrical needs. I am completely satisfied with this experience.

This was the most professional and highest quality service work I've had done in decades. They do what they promise, when they promise it, and how they promise it -- and beyond. They left the site so clean that we have thought about hiring them for more projects so they can clean the rest of our house! But the high quality is the key and I will never use another electrician.

From first contact, Mr. Hurley has been great to work with on this project. When he came to give me an estimate, I had tried to move an outlet in the kitchen. Somewhere along the line I managed to do something that caused the bathroom lights not to work. He fixed the problem. This was before he had even had the job.. He is an excellent electrician and he and his crew worked hard to make things as perfect as they could be in an older home. The new light fixture was particularly challenging due to the way the box had been installed during the construction of the house. They figured out a way to correct the problem by modifying a piece. There were a few safety issues with the wiring that I did not know about. Mr. Hurley made sure there were no electrical hazards. I am updating the house and it's currently a mess. A lot of people would have seen the mess and not cared if they created more. He & his workers were careful to clean up after the job. So, from the beginning of the job until its completion, from the big things down to the smallest detail, Mr. Hurley and his crew did a wonderful job. I recommend him highly for any electrical work you may need done.

So far so good. The technician was very helpful, courteous and informative.

Mr. Hurley located the source of faulty wiring in my laundry room after a pipe burst over an electric outlet. He replaced and rewired the necessary outlets and switches. He was careful to explain each step in terms I could understand and to review the options for repair. Due to a recent lightning strike of the electrical line, he also checked all connections in the electric box and made suggestions for surge protection. I feel that he was proactive in his approach, attempting to save me from future problems related to my appliances and technology.

HURLEY ELECTRIC is the best! Portsmouth really has a super electrical contractor. They went above and beyond my expectations. I live 140 miles from Portsmouth. Bought a house for my daughter, a college student. I have had several experiences with working with contractors and lots of those contractors were not honest with their estimates and their quality of work very disappointing.I am very happy to say this was not the case with this contractor, very honest and very professional! Hurley Electric ran into several obstacles working on this old house, but every time they came up with a solution that worked and meet my approval. This house was a electrical disaster waiting to happen, now I would put this house up against the best electrically wired house in Portsmouth. Hurley Electric went beyond their estimate for this job. I know this very well with all the unexpected problems with this house. I offered Hurley to up the estimate since they had extra time and expenses, but he refused this offer. Now, you don't get that response every day! Hurley Electric is a man of his word. I wish him and his professional crew the best. Thanks for a job well done and the piece of mind that my daughter is living in a electrically safe house!!

Everything went well. He kept me fully informed through out the process. He gave me several options and it didn't seem to bother him even though I changed my mind several times.

Mr. Hurley really helped me out. I am NOT a very good handy man. And with electricity, well, that is something I do not mess with. Ever. When replacing a ceiling fan - something I had done twice already since moving into this house - the breaker kept tripping. Upon testing the wires - with the breaker off - it appeared that voltage was still running through the wires. Not to mention, the odd combination of rooms that were on a single breaker. Double Whammy. With a house that is more than 30 years old, I just was not sure what was happening, nor did I wish to have a real problem. Mr Hurley came, counseled us on how the electrical box was wired and what we could do to fix it. He determined there was no problem - just a couple of loose wires at the box - and really put our mind at ease. He suggested some things that were not immediate requirements, but certainly something we will consider for next year's home improvement budget. Mr. Hurley was professional, helpful and very funny. He takes great care in his ability to stay safe when dealing with electricity. This is something apparently his own mother still worries about. So if his Mom ever calls you, make sure to tell her he works for McDonalds so she won't worry. (grin)

EXCELLENT. He came when he said. He got to us quickly (our refrigerator was on that circuit). He diagnosed the problem with clarity and professionalism and even cleaned up after himself. We were very impressed.

Unfortunately, after accepting his quote and discussing a timeline with Mr. Hurley, he didn't follow through as agreed and wasn't ready to do the work on the date we agreed. Even after 3 unreturned calls, when he DID get in touch I gave him a 2nd (and ultimately a 3rd) chance, and rescheduled. After that, I never heard from him again. He does not return calls. So I left him a message that I will find someone else. Very unprofessional and apparently doesn't need the work enough to care about his reputation.

Mr. Hurley returned my phone call promptly. Others I contacted did not. He arranged for the repair with consideration and at my convenience. Mr. Kraft was prompt and professional. He replaced the burned out receptacle and wire from the fuse box. Work is top notch. He even replaced the cord on my dryer, which I did not expect. I am extremely pleased with Mr. Hurley and Mr. Kraft. The price was excellent, and he honored the Angie's List discount coupon. This is one of only a few companies I found that will even consider small residential jobs. Without hesitation, I will call Hurley's Electrical for all of my future needs.

They were quick to respond to the initial request. The office staff were very nice and helpful Returned phone calls promptly. I like the fact that Paul said he was part of our team.

Even though we did not hire Hurley Electric as of yet. He is number 1 on our list

i called on a Saturday afternoon and got an appointment for Monday morning.the technician showed up on time and installed a light fixture. He was very polite and cleanes upn his mess.

I don't know how I can complete the form accurately when NO WORK was done!!! They didn't return my call. I just put today's date in so this review would be accepted. - After reading my report in Angie's list, Mr. Hurley immediately called me, apologized and arranged to come down the following morning (this morning) himself. He hadn't received my inquiry from his answering service. He did come down this morning himself, checked out my problem with my ceiling fan/lights and made recommendations about fixing it. He gave me his cell phone number to call him when I am ready for him to come back. He seemed very knowledgable, was very helpful and very sorry that he didn't get my original call. I plan to call him back in a few days. So far, there has been no charge.

From start to finish it was on schedule. Shane and Chuck and Jack went through and marked where we wanted receptacles and switches, cable, phone lines and all the can lights. Paul called the electric company to get an order for poles and removals and transformers and the service box placement. They were practically there within the next day or so. If I was to build again I would contact Hurley Electric as well as recommend them to others who need electrical services.
