ON THE JOB

Bob, the handyman was punctual, neat, and brought all of his tools. He got the 2 fans installed in a reasonable amount of time. Bob was professional, polite, and I would definitely recommend him or "On the Job" for handyman service.

I just moved in to a new condo in a very old building and wanted to update the old brown boring doors with white six-panel doors. Bob answered my initial call immediately and came out to give me an estimate the next day. He was very polite and professional and indicated that he had experience hanging this type of door. Included in his estimate was purchasing the doors, hinges and knobs and transporting everything to my condo. He was very accommodating in scheduling the work on a day when I had an electrician coming to perform other jobs, so I was not required to take additional time off from work. This was extremely helpful! He and Jeff did an outstanding job. They worked hard for two days in a very professional and friendly manner. They were very neat and made sure they didn't leave a mess. The doors look great and make a huge difference in my condo. I would highly recommend On The Job to anybody and will certainly use them in the future.

I use him for all of my small repair stuff. The charge was for two hours of work and $16 in materials. I cannot say enough good stuff about this guy. He is professional and courteous. He is very knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to leave him in my house alone. He makes me real comfortable and I don't feel stupid asking dumb questions. He is always on time and always cleans up. He comes out quickly.

He was in and out. He did a great job. He was very professional and I highly recommend him. The price was just about right. We are in the process of having him come back and do the additional painting for the suite. It?s a relief to find people to who do what they say they would do.

The best part was Bob's suggestion for a screen door. We needed a screen door for the door leading from the kitchen to the garage; he suggested a screen that rolls-up rather than a door that swings open. This was an excellent solution.

As always, Bob was great! Very responsive, professional, and left the work area probably cleaner than before he began. The shutter(blown off in a storm)was a minor "while we had him out" item, and was mounted back on the house securely despite a broken(original)fastener. The thresholds were the "main event" for this interaction with On The Job. We wanted to have some sort of transition trim installed between the adjacent tile and flooring, and had seen something we liked online but could not find it in any local stores. Bob came out to measure and take a sample of our home's woodwork. He then arranged for a custom-shaped trim, stained it to(perfectly!)match our existing trim, and installed all the thresholds neatly and in a strong and secure manner. In fact, though not in his original quote, Bob called during the installation to let us know that several doors needed to be shaved down to accommodate the trim, and he wanted to check in with us before cutting into the doors, which we appreciated(some people might not have wanted them shaved). The thresholds look great and the quality of the work means that these high-wear items should last us for years! As long as he was set up to shave the doors for the thresholds, Bob even shaved down one for us(in a no-trim doorway, upon our request)which was dragging on the carpet. It took quite some time(over a month, I believe)for Bob to obtain the threshold wood and stain it. However, since this was a non-urgent project for us, we hadn't asked for the job to be done in any particular time frame and didn't mind the delay. Bob has helped us out with several small fix-it type projects around the house in the past and we have no doubt that he would have come through sooner if we'd indicated that there was any urgency to the job. He did kindly recognize and apologize for the delay, stating that he's been very busy-our secret must have gotten out! To be completely clear, we don't view the delay as a negative aspect of this interaction, just let Bob know if timing is an issue for you and we're sure he'll meet your deadline.

Bob came out the next day and fixed my shower-it's better than new-and he also replaced a missing piece to my master sink that I'd been waiting to get fixed. I recommended Bob to a friend of mine at work and my friend was also very pleased with the work that was done.

He did a good job, but the fan he installed in the kitchen is in the way of the door. I think a professional would have measured that to see if it would block the door. He charges by the hour, but he works very quickly.

We are very pleased with them and are keeping them on for some other jobs we need. They were always very prompt and accurate with their price quote. They were very courteous and were faster than I thought they would be.

Bob called me back a couple of days after I first called him. He came out the next day to see the job and gave me a quote. I liked his price and we scheduled the job then to come back the next week. He came back the next week as promised and spent the entire day removing the hot tub and pulling old boards off the deck. It was 90+ degrees that day - but he was very pleasant and didn't even act as if it bothered him. The next day he came back and repaired the deck (again, 90+ degree heat). I was very concerned that the patch of the deck not actually LOOK patched, but that it be seamless with the rest of the deck, and it is. He even placed the screws in perfect alignment with the existing board-screws so that it is perfectly seamless. I am so happy with the work, and his price, and with Bob himself. He is polite, professional, very nice and very trustworthy. We will definitely be hiring him again in the future, and be recommending him to our friends and neighbors.

Bob returned my call promptly and left a cell number where he could be reached. He even made a follow-up call when I had not returned his call. He provided an estimate of the cost at the time we set the appointment. He arrived as promised, performed all the work efficiently and left the work area very neat. He used shoe covers to protect flooring while in my home. I would definitely hire again.

FABULOUS work! Bob has always been dependable and thorough in his work. He was able to make the bathroom look as good as new. He arrived promptly, had all of his materials with him and got right to work. He wasn't sure what he was going to find behind the walls, but was able to deal with it very well. He wasn't able to finish the job the first day, so he returned the next morning to finish and perfect his work.

We have used Bob for numerous projects in the past year and have always received efficient and professional service. Response time is normally next-day and immediate in case of emergency. Some of the projects with which he has helped have been repair of loose railing and installation of a replacement dishwasher. Highly recommended!

Bob did a great job installing the chandelier. He is professional, prompt, and reasonable.

I spoke with Mr. Calabrese regarding repair of my concrete steps. He assured me that they do work like what I needed all the time and would come out and take a look and call me. When he called, he asked if I'd ever considered completely replacing the front steps instead of repairing them and I told him that was my original intention last year but that for various reasons, I couldn't afford to do that. However, I said that if he'd present the proposal to me as a repair or as a replacement, I'd certainly be willing to look at both proposals and make my decision. I never heard from him again.

This is the second time I have used Bob for handyman work. As usual he was professional, dependable, and hard working. The task was not an easy one, but he was very good at problem solving and getting the work done in a very efficient manner. The work looks great! If you need a good handyman, call On The Job!
