They were not able to replace the door because we it was too tight, but they tried. They spent about 45 minutes trying and then they didn't charge us anything, not even a service fee. They were really nice. They offered an alternative fix to close up the whole. They were really good, polite and professional. They did attempt to do a difficult job and it just didn't work out. They did get back to me very quickly, then they scheduled the work.

I called this company and left a message requesting a visit and quote for tuck-pointing. John (the owner) called me within 3 hours and we set up an appointment for him to evaluate the work. He showed up on time (dressed professionally) and he gave me a written quote. He scheduled the work for later in the week. He called me the next day and said, if I wanted, he had a crew who could come out that afternoon and that he would be there to supervise. They showed up on time, the work was expertly done, the area was fully cleaned after they were completed. He left an invoice for me to pay him which was for the exact amount quoted. This is exactly how trade craftsmen should work. I would recommend them to anyone for any chimney and masonry and concrete work.

Many of the original brick were spaling, broken, and cracked. Motar joints were also in very bad shape. The lower part of the chimney is solid and appears to be in good shape. We were also getting water in the firebox when we had a heavy rain. So we decided to rebuild the upper part. The rebuild took one day. The new brick color match the old very well and it looks just great. Cleanup of thw work site was also above average. Unfortunately, we still get water in the firebox after a heavy rain. This I think tells me that the porous brick on the lower chimney is soaking up the water. Next question is should I apply a product like "Chimney Saver" or live with it. I've had recommendations for both approaches.

They evened the front of the chimney/fireplace out all the way across inside my home. They added more bricks to the platform and evened it out. It turned out really nice, however I did think it was a little pricey.

I cannot believe how quick and efficient this company works. I called Friday, John was here Saturday and the job was able to get done on Monday (due to change in schedule). I wanted to get it done before the hard winter sets in. Someone came to clean the gutters that same day and was so impressed by their work they got Chimney & Masonry's business card. They brought in extra guys to work on the job to get done faster due to the weather. Everyone was real professional and did an excellent clean up job. I now have the best looking chimney on the street!

What a wonderful experience. I could not have been more satisfied. And the cost was painless.

John (co-owner) came out within days of my call and gave me a comprehensive estimate on the spot. Within weeks a crew was here to do the work. They worked quietly and efficiently. At the end of each day everything was thoroughly cleaned up. Mark (co-owner) came by on the first day to check in. John came back at the end to make sure everything went well. All the workers were polite and responsive. We really had a wonderful experience with this company!

The job went fine, however they missed some places that I pointed out the first time. I called them to come back out and they came out in less than a week to fix the work.

Everything in the job went well. They were very efficient. They had the entire job done in two days. They were very reasonably priced.

After they did the work I was having water leaking into my basement. I called them and they came and supposedly fixed it. However, I had the same problem the next time it rained, and again they came out and supposedly fixed it. I eventually had to call them out at least three times, and I haven't had trouble with a leak since then, but I am holding my breath. I had never had water leaking from that chimney before they did the work, and do not know what they did that caused this leak. I would not call them back out for anything.

Everything was excellent. They cleaned up after themselves. They came at a reasonable time. They called and said that they were going to be early for the initial appointment. They were very courteous. They followed up after the work was done. The president of the company came out and checked out the work and answered any questions.

I knew he was very knowledgeable and had some expertise because he could look from the ground and tell it had been tuckpointed. He came out and looked over what I wanted repaired. In his contract proposal, he said he was going to take care of the top of the door and the wood repair would be extra, also the sandstone sill that had worn away under the door (when I close my screen door, you can see under it because the stone is worn away). The cost was very reasonable, so I jumped at it. I have sandstone under the doorway, so he was supposed to fix what was worn away. When the guys actually came out, even though it was in the contract, they told me they weren’t supposed to work on the main stone underneath. When I explained that was part of the job, they packed up and left. What I think happened is that he low-balled himself with the estimate and was going to lose money, so he bailed out of the job because he realized he couldn’t do it for that cost. The two guys told my wife that the boss would be calling and he never followed up. I feel he was very professional, he just screwed up on the estimate. I would have considered renegotiating the cost if he had called back and communicated the issue to me. I was shocked at the low cost in the first place.

This company is fantastic. The quote was extremely competitive, the work is beautiful and the employees were very professional. The job took about 1.5 days. The crew arrived first thing in the morning, began work tearing down the old chimney and did not stop until around 6pm on a Friday. The crew cleaned up the old brick, hosed down our driveway after the mortar was mixed and did great work. They came back first thing Monday morning and finished the flashing. The workmanship is excellent.

Mark Anghilante came out and told me that it is likely the foundation was not done properly. He said the situation wasn't really bad, however I should have it checked out by a foundation specialist. He recommended someone. I found Mike very helpful even though his company wasn't the one that would do the job since they only could do a rebuild, and in my case, this wasn't necessary.

Company responded promptly to provide an estimate. Pointed out several safety problems with original construction and recommended corrective action. Gave me a firm quote on the masonry work and with a contingency for plumbing gas line. Worked with me to coordinate their effort with drywall work around fireplace. Worked well with the Hearth Shop to fit doors into rebuilt opening. Company showed up when they said they would, and didn't mess around once they started. Crews cleaned up each day and neatly staged materials during the project. My wife and I worked with John Anghilante through the whole process. He was friendly and trustworthy.

They completed the job in one day. The chimney looks great. They were very professional; they cleaned up everything.

The owner and his staff all knew what they were doing. They worked fast and were done within 5 days of calling them. I was impressed that the owner gave the estimate and would definitely call them again for masonry needs.

The company came out to the house quickly and gave us a very good quote on the price and extent of the work. They scheduled the work quickly, and rebuilt our chimney in less than a day, using the original bricks so as to completely match our house. They also replaced cracked chimney liners, and removed a back chimney that was no longer used. The new chimney looks wonderful, and the work was done quickly and professionally. All the mess was cleaned up, too.

They were very professional and came right when they said they would. The chimney looks great and their prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend this company.

If I could rate with an A++, I would. The work was part of a real estate transaction and Mark really did a good job of responding quickly, educating everyone regarding the issue, and taking care of the problem. Originally, he was just going to come out and give an estimate to remove the wood. Within about 15 minutes the old, charred wood started to come out of the chimney and he finished the job in about an hour. He was great and the transaction went more smoothly thanks to him. The sellers actually paid him as part of the deal, and I know that they were pleased as well.

I called them and they said somebody will call you, but no one did. I called the following week and somebody did call me back. They said that they would come out when we were out of town, but never did. We got no response.

The experience went very well overall. The only area I was a little disappointed in was after returning the signed contract. I did not hear from the company and called to inquire when the job would be scheduled. The response I got was, it isn't scheduled and they would be in contact. After about 3 weeks after sending in the contract, I received the phone call that the work would begin the next day. However, the work, craftsmanship, cleanup and professionalism of the works was exemplary. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing masonry work.

They came out, no problem, and fixed the leaky chimney and it has been fine ever since. I am glad they came back to take care of it and appreciate that they didn't charge me.

John and his crew were awesome! We've received many nice compliments about our new front porch. When we asked about alternatives to the concrete top we had on the old porch, John suggested a sandstone top and showed us photos of a job where he had done this before. It looks great!
