Brad Smith massive crew of about two dozen men, did a great job getting the house done in one day. The garage needed some additional carpentry work, that was completed the next day. The crew worked late and cleaned up very toughly. I am very happy with my new roof and I am glad, I went with Brad Smith Roofing.

Did a great job. Two story home with an extra garage that they did as well. They cleaned up very nice, even hand swept with a broom. Only took two and a half days.

He looked at my roof and told me he could do the repair for $500, but he also told me how to do the job myself and save the money. I really appreciated his honesty.

Company responded quickly to initial call and set a convenient time for estimate. Salesman took time to explain options, etc. We waited longer than we expected to get the new roof due to rain. At our request, Stacy worked with us re installation of attic fan, provided us with name of electrician and coordinated installation. Workers arrived promptly. Job required part of second day and clean up both days was excellent. I was told I did not have to be present during installation but, as it happened, I did need to be here to give access to electricity.

They came out before it was due to rain again to replace some shingles. They came out a half hour after my initial call. I didn't check any other estimates, but I thought their price was fine.

The installation of the roof vent went fine but my contract with them included hooking up the roof vent to the bathroom fan with flexible duct work. This is where the job got sloppy. The workers didn't have the right clamps/hardware to install the duct to the vent so they rigged something up which allowed some pretty large gaps in the connection to the vent. Essentially, my bathroom fan was dumping warm, moist air from my shower into my attic instead of out the roof vent. Any experienced roofer knows that this could create mold issues in the future. They did try to rectify the situation but their solution was merely a temporary fix to a larger problem. I eventually did the work myself and asked for a $50 credit. I am just surprised that the workers did not know the basics of attic/roof ventilation. They didn't seem too concerned. They also happened to be the highest bid I received. I guess I just thought the high price meant high quality.

Nothing in the process went smoothly. We signed the contract in October 2005. The roof wasn't installed until late June 2006. We were told we would have high priority because the roof was leaking. Drew, our salesperson, just told us what he thought we wanted to hear. We were very specific about how we wanted the railing to look. We were told someone would need to be home when the railing was installed. The workers showed up, installed the railing, and left. I took off a half day from work unnecessarily. The workers left one of the railing decorations taped to a corner of the railing. The railing was not installed the way we requested. The whole experience was frustrating and exhausting.

I spoke to the owner Brad Smith. I told him I had the streaks on my roof and because my home is 15 years old, he told me not to worry about it. He said it wasn't worth it. He took a lot of time explaining things to me. I will probably use him when I have to have a roof. He was very honest.

When he initially came to give an estimate, he noticed that my roof was extremely weak. We planned to just have the lower portion replaced. When they started the work, the workers realized that the upper portion was also rotted. Brad Smith came out to look and showed me the extensive damage. It was even eating away at the siding. They did the whole job in one day! There must have been 12 people there working all day to get it done. The second day they had the finish carpenters come to fix the siding. After all this, we got to putting the gutters back on. I got covered gutters (k-guard). They are working well! Although the roof was a surprise, I am very satisfied with the company. I appreciated that Brad Smith came out personally to explain the issues to me.

The estimate was so unexpected and mind boggling (especially since another company came and gave us an estimate of $500 for repairs) that we called in a independent building inspector. The inspector agreed with the $500 company. I know Brad Smith has a good reputation, so I don't understand what happened. The man who came and inspected our roof was very credible, patient and professional.

Shame on me for not remembering the name of the man who came to give the estimate, prepared the work order and organized the job. He did exactly what he said he would do and completed even sooner than he said he could. His workers took turns eating lunch so that they were able to complete the work in just two days. The clean up was excellent and the roof is extremely nice. I would and will hire them again as I have another roof in need of the same kind of attention. Excellent company

Experience was excellent. First, assessment of needs included detailed inspection and identification of elements no other roofer had determined, especially some particular problems with the existing roof. Crew arrived as promised on updated schedule. Crew was big enough (18) to tear off existing roof and boards and replace the main house roof in one 10-hour day, an amazing feat and one which sold us on Brad Smith as our choice when we interviewed candidate roofers. Crew was courteous, respectful of us and our property, clean, not rowdy, and worked hard to complete the job. Some of the crew were tasked with cleanup and a month after the job I have found no more than 3 square inches total of roof debris, a very small amount. The crew took pains to protect our house and shrubbery and was careful of our safety whenever we found it necessary to exit the house. Overall we are very satisfied with the result, and the roof has withstood 3 severe rainstorms without incident.

Everything you read about how to pick a contractor, Brad Smith does as business as usual. On time, specific on what will be done & fast.

There were a few issues with Brad Smith Roofing. I think they need to improve their communication between their own people and the company that installed my gutters. I also had an issue with some skylights that were leaking. I think they need to train their roofers on what to look for concerning skylights, example the flashing around the skylights, I had them come out a couple of times and the bottom line was this, needed a new 'flashing kit'' for them. I think this (leaking)would have been avoided. I put 'ayes'' to the question would I hire this company - because the survey would not take this unless it was marked - but the jury is still out if I would hire them again. I think if the skylights were not an issue - I would have given them a better grade, that was my only problem/issue with them.

I think the quality of the work ended up being fine. I would not hire this company again, mainly because of the way I was treated the day of the job and in subsequent follow-up calls related to questions about the final bill. A large crew shows up at the start of the day, and it is unclear who is in charge. I wanted to point out landscaping to protect and several other things, and there was no one who acted as ''crew chief''. This was very frustrating because it is unacceptable to have a crew of 15 men decend on your property without someone being assigned to be in charge. Additionally, I had questions regarding the bill (since we had to add $1500 to cost the day of the job), and Ron Wolf was defensive and rude in response to simply being asked to clarify how they arrived at the amount. As I said, the quality of the work seems fine, and the crew did a good job. You have to be prepared when hiring this company and know what you're getting into.

Very professional and responsiveness was good. I dealt mainly with Scott in sales. It's hard to check the work, but everything was cleaned up and the siding was replaced very well from what I can tell. I would use them again.

The work was done in a timely and profesional manner. However, a leak developed in March. The roof is under warranty. I notified Brad Smith and he came out promtly. He diagnosed the problem and promised to repair it. It is now 6/7/06 and repairs have not been done. After repeated calls to the company, I was told that it is Brad Smith's policy to only do warranty work when they have a job in the area. I find this policy totaly unacceptable. For this reason, I would not recommend this company.

He was fine, but we later learned we didn't need to do everything he suggested. I think he's very good, but you just have to be cautious of his estimates. The work is very good however.

Company responded to call immediately, gave us a good estimate, & warned of additional small charge if bad boards were found. Stayed very close to estimate. Arrived early & worked all day even through lunch when some ate & some worked. Cleaned entire area & if not for a beautiful new roof, we would not have known they were even there. Also quoted another roof & we will certainly call them as soon as we are ready. Checked roof from inside out & found some problems with construction that need to be addressed first. Excellent company, friendly from start to finish, & professional from start to finish.

I initially contacted this company 6 months ago for a roof leak. They came out for an inspection and were very professional, but despite several phone calls, I never received an estimate. My calls were always returned with apologies for the delay in an estimate, but still no estimate.

They were prompt, pleasant, the work was done well and on time, and they cleaned up well afterwards. I am very very pleased with them!!

Once they started they were consistent and got the job done in a timely fashion. I would hire them again in the future.

I thought they were very professional. When the work started they were prompt. The first they started it was a little rainy so it was touch and go but once the work was started and the weather was nice it was done quickly. They finished in a little over a full day.

I would use this company again. Even though it was expensive, they did a really good job.

Overall, my experience with Brad Smith Roofing was positive. They were professional, performed the work when they said they would, and their work seems to be of good quality and value. A couple of little things: there were some screws and metal scraps left on the driveway, and the invoice took about 2 months to arrive. Other than that, the sales and admin staff were good. In the world of gutters and roofing, there seem to be a lot of ''fly by night'' operators, but Brad Smith Roofing is not among these in my opinion.
