If you wish to make use of your Angie's List coupon with this company, prepare to be told, "As a courtesy, we are offering that discount to all of our customers. It is already built into the quote." Then why do they even offer the coupon? If you have to deal with the same salesman who dealt with me, prepare to have some of your questions and concerns dealt with in a condescending and/or dismissive manner. If you have need to visit their office, prepare to be molested by three very large and over friendly dogs and not have a single person in the office lift a finger or a voice to help. If you enter into a contract with this company, prepare to have them phone you on the day before work is scheduled to begin and have them tell you that their supplier is out of stock of the shingles you ordered. The only positive thing I have to say about this outfit is that they were agreeable to canceling the contract and refunding my deposit.

They did job as well. The guys were very nice and cleaned up well everyday. I would definitely recommend them. I couldn't ask for a better sales person. I even asked for extra samples. They were here when they said they would be. I had no problems at all.

Very good. Great communication, workmanship, etc. The roofers were not your "typical" roofers. I have watched roofers work in our neighborhood and these guys were first class. Especially on a 90 degree day.

Quality of work was awesome. Really decent people, very respectful. Very excellent crew.

Before Brad Smith's company, I had called 4 other roofing contractors, but no one could tell me why my roof was leaking. I spent about $3,500.00 with other companies on "roof repairs" that never fixed the leaks. The guy from Brad Smith knew immediately what the problem was. They got me on the schedule within about a week, and then a huge crew descended on my house for one entire day, and completed the job. There was not a nail or screw left on the ground, or any indication they had been there (except, of course, for the roof!) I haven't had a problem with it since they did the work, they couldn't have been better to work with, and they even dealt with my gutter company (who can be pretty difficult) to get them to remove the gutters before they started and then get them up again when they were done. I would recommend Brad Smith to anyone!

He was amazing. He had a large crew, and they tore off a slate roof and a roof on top of that. They replace the roof all in one day. They hosed off my house, driveway, sidewalk, and they picked up every single nail. The most important thing is that they hand hammered the roofing nails.

When the representative came out, he looked at the roof and told me how much it would approximately cost to replace it. However, when I told him that I was in the process of trying to get my house together to be sold, he told me to just have the chimney fixed since that was more pressing and work out the roof issue when I sell it. I really appreciated his honesty and would recommend them in the future.

Drew came out and looked at the roof and ice build up. Water was pouring into my kitchen and ice was frozen behind the aluminum siding. He sent a crew out the next day. They cleared the ice off the roof and removed the gutter. Once the ice was removed, the water stopped running into the kitchen. A few months later they replaced the gutter.

He got up there and made a small adjustment that he did not charge us for it.

Very professional and friendly. I was able to schedule an appointment for an estimate within two days of when I called to inquire about the job. The man who came out was thorough and detailed in his description of what repair work would be required. He used a digital camera to take pictures while up on the roof so that he could show me the images and I could see for myself exactly what the problems were with the chimneys. Their estimate was just slightly higher than that of the other company I contacted.

THE PRICE WAS TOO HIGH. HE WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT ACTUALLY WENT UP ON THE ROOF.

I contacted Brad Smith Roofing to ask for a quote on a new roof. They turned out to be on the lower end of the price scale, partially thanks to a $300 Angie's List member discount. They were very responsive and able to get me roofing samples and drive by references promptly. When the work was done, an army of roofers descended upon my property at about 8am and had completed the tear-off and new installation by about 2:30. They were quick, but also took precautions to protect my windows and some small trees near the house. When they left they magnetically raked both my and my neighbor's driveways. No trash or debris was left in my yard. The new gutters and downspouts followed, but were delayed a few days by snowy weather.

I got a call at work from Brad Smith's son that the underlayment on the older part of the house need to be replaced. I left work to see/confer with him and saw that the crew was an army of maybe twenty or thirty workers. They had so much stuff and vehicles that they parked in the neighbor's drive even though I have a parking lot-sized driveway. Instead of exposing the part of the roof that had questionable wood, they had chosen to instead tear off the part that was not really in need of replacement. Smith couldn't tell me how much of the wood was bad and said that I would need to sign another contract for another $5,000 to pay for the wood to be replaced and extra labor/carpentry. It was upsetting to be told that even the additional $5,000 might not cover the cost of what still had to be done. Mercifully, it did. They did a good job overall, although their cleanup was hasty and careless.

I thought their quote was excessive and ultimately paid half of the price they quoted to have another contractor do the work.

The roof. When the work was completed, the workers left coffee cups and a sweatshirt on my property. The old ladder on roof was left in my yard rather than hauled away with the other debris. The gutters were put back up incorrectly when I called I was told someone would be out the next day. To date, no one has come. Because of the gaps and the fear of water damage. I call The House Doctor to come and replace the gutters after 2 months. The work was done in Dec., they invoiced me on Feb 8, called on the 15th and told me I needed to have the money in by the weekend. When I told the girl I was told I had 30 days after invoicing, she sternly told me that because they invoiced me late it was due now.

We have a large (6000 sq. ft.) house that is 82 years old with the original slate roof. We had leaks through all four chimneys. Brad Smith did a wonderful job repairing the leaks and installing the ridge vent. His crew was very courteous and knowledgeable. We had several bids, all of which were much lower than Brad Smith. However, Brad Smith was the ONLY contractor who seemed to have a grasp of the work necessary to do the repairs right. We are very pleased with the work, and would contract again in a heartbeat. That said, they were about a month late in completion. I understand the weather concerns, especially when working on a roof, but there were some days when the weather was great and they were (presumably) on some other job.

They were very honest to tell me that they did not do a lot of work on this type of roof and I should go with another company with more expertise in this area. I appreciate their honesty. They were very punctual.

I had to have them tear up the roof 2 additional times because it was not put on correctly. This had to be done in order to get the manufacturers warranty. In the end I was happy.

A contractor who's married to a friend of mine recommended Brad Smith. I checked Angie's List and they had a solid score, so I called. The woman on the phone could not have been nicer, and she got them scheduled quickly. They came, checked everything out, gave me an estimate, and scheduled a time to do the repairs. When the time came, they were there, they made the repairs, and the leaks stopped. Except for one. The next big rain, another leak. I called the company again, and the same lady I had talked to before scheduled them to come right back, which they did. The man who came went back up on the roof, fixed the leak, and charged me nothing. This was a great experience after a bunch of lousy roofing company experiences.

The roof was completed from start to finish over about 4 hours in one afternoon (I have a small, one story house), the gutter crew then arrived a few days later to finish the job. I was notified earlier in the day that the crews would be arriving, but the roofing crew was about 4 hours later then planned. Once the crews arrived they went right to work, though they forgot to let me know they were there, I just heard them start outside! The contractors cleaned up the yard well afterwards, very important since I have dogs that have full access to the backyard. Minor issues, a few shingles weren't laying flat, were also cleared up afterwards in a timely manner.

It went fine. I called the morning I found the leak and they came out that day to put a temporary wrap to prevent more water coming in (on a very rainy day). The next day they rebuilt the chimney and did the flashing. I was very pleased with the their quick response and the good job they did. We've had rain since, but no leaking at all. They did a good job, too, cleaning up.

HE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND DID AND EXCELLENT CLEAN-UP. EVERYTHING WAS ON TIME AND DONE ON SCHEDULE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

Brad Smith Roofing was professional in every way. The work was done with quality workmanship, attention to detail, and completed very quickly with a very large crew of experienced roofers who cleaned up every bit of debris from the work at the end of each work day. The company presented me with all appropriate documents before they began work, including workers compensation and building permit paperwork. They warranted their workmanship for at least 10 years. The owner of the company was readily available if I had questions or concerns, and he checked with me frequently to ensure that the job was progressing to my satisfaction. There were a number of unforeseen problems, that the company was able to address with very little difficulty and resolve with minimum effort. The company employees knew what they were doing. My roof is now beautiful, secure, and historically and architecturally appropriate for my house. I couldn't have chosen a better contractor.
