Barski Hardscaping

I don't know if I can cover everything when I write a review about Brandon and Barski Hardscaping, Brandon did our pavers patio with landscaping work. There was many points covered in the good reviews he got and I agree with all the good things that were mentioned, so I won't repeat, I would point to things I appreciated the most. Brandon is excellent at his job, he knows exactly what needs to be done, he does not do any extra unnecessary work, yet he does not cut corners and does not ignore any detail. He was very good at pointing to things we did not think about, and giving us advices on different issues, he was very flexible at changing things after we started and adding some work that we found out we needed. He is very friendly and that is very important part for me, when I look for someone for a job, I like to work with a person who is humanistic and who would treat me like a friend and treat my house as if it was his, and not just about business and payments, Brandon was great at that. Our experience with Barski hardscaping has been beyond great, we highly recommend him and would hire him for any work that we need in the future. Mazen and Jena.

We hired Barski Hardscaping after meeting with several other companies in person. He not only listened to our end goal dream backyard but he gave us amazing suggestions and ideas. Brandon Barski is not just a contractor but a true craftsman. We started with a complete gut of our current wood deck and fence. We replaced it with a vinyl fence and top end composite decking with lighting and benches that also function as storage. Then we got started on a new paver patio, kitchen counter space with granite and beautiful rock fountain. Along the way we added pavers to extend the driveway and a new front stone walk up. I am a very particular person and somewhat of a perfectionist. Brandon made this whole outdoor renovation so easy! He gave me many MANY options and samples when I was unsure of products or colors. We were even invited to see one of Brandon’s previous completed backyards to see materials and features. The final results were in a word, AMAZING! We have a modern and relaxing outdoor space. From start to finish Brandon worked tirelessly to ensure our dreams were brought to reality. We cannot recommend Brandon Barski enough. You will not be disappointed.

Barski Hardscaping did an excellent job building two roof extensions over our back patio. The structure that Brandon and his team built blends perfectly with the existing structure. The wings are structurally sound and well thought out. I highly recommend Barski Hardscaping for all of your outdoor living space improvements!

Brandon was great in providing exactly what we needed in a driveway gate for our new home. Even in the cold elements, his crew got the gate installed so we can FINALLY let our dogs enjoy their new back yard!

Barski was great. The fence turned out wonderfully. Brandon worked with us on a tighter timeline—and amidst this season of backorders of various materials. He helped us explore options and find what was the best fit for us given our design, timing, and budget needs. His team was polite and professional. Brandon’s taken all of our (abundant) questions re: ongoing maintenance, tips, etc. Highly recommend.

We think Brandon and his team did a great job. They were very responsive, had good communication, and came in on budget. We would definitely hire them again and continue to receive compliments on the fence and pergola they built.

Brandon and his crew did a great job installing a chain link fence for me. Made the process quick and painless, and it looked great when completed. Would definitely recommend!

Overall, it went well, and I am very satisfied with the results. Brandon was polite, respectfully, friendly, and generally good to work with. He was also very willing to discuss details, next steps, and alternative approaches. He was cost conscious and upfront regarding costs and additional expenses. He coordinated well with other workers on-site and cleaned up afterwards. I would hire them again.

Needed a fence built for my parents who live in Cleveland area. Barski made it very easy for me to arrange this for my parents all while I was in Alabama. He was quick to respond, and made it easy to arrange the payments from a distance. He was also quick to come out and quote as well as install the fence. It was a very smooth process. Quote was reasonable, the workers were very polite and the fence looks great! We will be recommending to all our friends and family! Great work!

Brandon and his team did an AMAZING job on our pergola. He took the time to really understand what we wanted, considered each and every detail, and executed it beautifully. The design is simple and clean and the craftsmanship is next level. We would absolutely hire Barski Hardscaping again for future projects.

Brandon was a true professional. He layed techo block pavers, installed trex decking and seating, built privacy walls for trash and AC unit, had a natural gas fireplace installed from our natural gas water heater inside our house, and got a Tesla Charger installed in our garage which had to go underground due to our detached garage. It is very hard to find good work and people that actually care about their craft and their work. Brandon was a stickler for details and made sure everything was as perfect as possible. We did a full backyard transformation in Ohio City with a smaller lot that is 20x30 and a side yard that is 7x40 and he made it full transformed. We could tell he was a professional from the beginning when he had the architect come by to help with the design. We went back and forth a few times with his architect and had Brandon's advice throughout that process. He was very clear on pricing and let us know what he could do within his wheelhouse and contracted himself trusted connections for the natural gas line and Tesla charger. He handled all of that, so I didn't have to work with multiple different contractors. I would recommend Brandon in a heartbeat. He always left the work area in a clean and tidy area throughout the project and made sure everything was spotless when he was ultimately finished.

I sent him the initial request for quote through Angie's List on 4/4/2019. I received a quote on 4/20 and picked him to do the work on 4/25. We finally figured out the credit card payment and I made a 60% payment on 5/3 to get on the schedule 5/29. When that date finally rolled around, he was nowhere to be found. I needed to contact him to see where they are and what was going on. I received a new date that was to be 2 weeks later, being approximately mid-June. I received and email on June 10th stating it would be pushed again, and now it would be no later than July 1st. They didn't start the work until July 8th. They "completed" the work in a week. I put that in quotes because the initial meeting and discussion of the project versus what was quoted and done were not the same things. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING SPELLED OUT TO THE FULLEST IN ANY CONTRACT, or people like this will get around doing what you agreed to. Every time I brought up an issue it was explained away with vague wording in the quote. He literally built another porch over my existing upstairs porch. He then told me the material he applied was not good for porches and would get tore up easily. When he came back to "fix" issues he promptly tore up the material. Also, the rust spots would disagree with the quote and that they "Properly Air Blasted" (whatever that means) the railings. I needed to call and text them multiple times to fix the leaking that was coming through the floor of my upper porch onto the middle of my lower porch. It never leaked before, it was holding water, hence the need for some work. The lower porch would then puddle and leak right into the basement. In one text message I sent, I included a picture and the response I received was "I wouldn't worry about that..." The "fixes" to get the leaking to stop was apply more silicone and roofing tar. They did stop the leak for a time, but this method seems like a careless and hasty way of solving this issue. The last time they were in contact was September 7th stating they would be back to finish the job. That was now 2 MONTHS AGO and there has been no contact. I’m not holding my breath that he will actually come back and finish the job. On top of this my porch started leaking into the basement AGAIN, and it always looks dirty with the silicone "fix" they applied to the composite decking.

Great!! I had already started and just need someone to finish. However I did it all wrong. They came out within a week of initial contact and in one day fixed my mistakes, completed my porch, and added extra support and detail I was not expecting. I would highly recommend them.

They did a great job, easy to deal with, we were completely satisfied. Brian and his crew were always kept us involved in the process.

I have been requesting quotes for a fence installation. The work is eligible for a city grant which would cover most of the work. I communicated with Brandon Barski on a Monday in which the application deadline was the next Saturday (5 days later). I emailed him a detailed plan of the job, with linear footage and an item # of the actual vinyl fence we wanted from a catalog he supplied. He indicated it would be no problem, and he would get a quote to me right away. I received an email from him that stated "Can you send me a pic of the fence you want ?". So I sent him a picture that was copied and pasted from the catalog he sent me. After that, nothing. He hasn't replied to several emails asking for a quick quote - it didn't even have to be fine tuned, as the prime consideration was getting the grant application in on time. Well, I received the quotes I requested from two other contractors promptly and submitted the application with one less quote than is required. I am hoping that Mr. Barski's indifference does not cost me the grant.

A great experience from start to finish-Brandon worked with us to bring our vision to life & make sure the desired design would work well in our space. He and his team were wonderful to work with and incredibly accommodating as we discovered details to tweak along the way. The end product is incredibly well built and even better than we imagined, we’re getting constant compliments and absolutely love living outdoors in our new space every day!

Work completed as promised in a timely fashion

Brandon's work was above what I expected! Once I explained what I wanted, he came to my home to see what work he had to do. He set right to the task of getting the materials ordered that he would need to do the job and kept me informed regularly about when the materials would arrive and the time he would be able to start. Once Brandon started he was efficient in getting the work done in as little time as possible. He suggested doing some things that I appreciated, which included some built-ins, and I love the way my new bathroom turned out! I know I will be calling Barski Hardscaping for future remodeling! It is a good feeling to hire a company where the owner and workers are people you can trust.

We had an excellent experience with Barski Hardscape! Both projects look great and were done with care and precision. There were no surprises with the end billing and the project was done in a timely manner! We will definitely hire Brandon for future projects!!

It was overall a very good experience. Good communication, they always answered the phone and were very thorough in answering my questions. The work was done in a timely manner.

Project turned out fantastic. It has been over a year and we are still very pleased. During the process, we made some minor changes and Brandon was very helpful in making suggestions and accommodating these changes. Very pleased with the way the deck turned out.

And, Brandon and his team did an excellent job of turning that design into our beautiful new patio. Brandon and his team are great to work with. They are courteous, conscientious and are very attentive to detail. Their work is of the highest quality. Brandon suggested a few minor changes to the design as the project progressed - all of which made the end result even better. My wife and I are now looking forward to enjoying our patio for many years to come. We will enthusiastically recommend Barski Hardscaping to our family and friends - in fact, we already have.

Brandon and his team were great! Very professional and humble, offered great advice and was extremely easy to work with. Even with his busy schedule, he kept us informed every step of the way and offered various solutions that proved to be very helpful. The deal was purchased in the fall but due to schedule and weather, the deck wasn't completed until this spring. There were delays along the way (on both ends) but the finished product is fantastic. We have other hardscaping projects in the future and Brandon will get the first call.
