 + 0 moreI called this company after reading Angie's List reviews and seeing that they have a website. They booked a 2 hour window to come out to our home within 2 days! The cost for what we needed (just to check for leaks under the laundry room using a camera snake) was going to cost $150, less the $15 discount, which I was prepared to pay. They arrived on time and quickly assessed that we did not have any issues with our plumbing and was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was only at our home for about 10 minutes and did not even charge us for the call! Very professional and honest - I would call them again FOR SURE.
Description of Work: We are having some concrete work done and were told to be sure we don't have any plumbing issues before proceeding.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreLast week, I got a call from my renter saying hot water tank was not working. Found American Plumbing,they showed up on Thursday said I need to replace thermostat on water heater and said he would have it by Monday. He said he would call back to install it. Monday passes. I called him on Tuesday asking of the part had come in yet. She said not it's on order. My tenants had no hot water. I asked how much longer? She said may be a couple of days. I asked if she would know where the part was if it was her without hot water. I said the guy should not have said it would be if there was a possibility that it would not! They just don't seem to care. They do not have the part. They have not tried to get the part. They are not concerned that my renters don't have hot water. I am not happy with their service.
Description of Work: My renters do not have hot water and needs a part replaced on their hot water tank.

He actually discovered a gas leak as well, and he called Dominion to fix it. He actually even waited until he had a confirmation that someone was coming out to look at it. I can't imagine what could have happened without his help. He went above and beyond, and we'll be using him next time we need work. I've already recommended him to our friends and neighbors. Double A+!

 + -1 moreI found American Plumbing on Angie's List late last night, after discovering that the plastic tubing running from my basement saddle valve to my upstairs ice maker had sprung a leak. There was no shut off between the incoming water and the saddle valve, so I had to turn off the main water supply overnight to avoid soaking my basement. I phoned American at 7:30AM and was told that today's schedule was very busy, but that she would ask the owner, when he arrived, when I might expect the soonest available help. Well...low and behold...she phoned back within 45 minutes and advised that someone would be out between 9:00 and 10:00 AM. The plumbing savior arrived @ 9:30, assured me the job would be simple, speedy and inexpensive, all predictions being precisely correct. I had copper tubing replacing my leaky plastic within an hour, paid a fair price of $80, and will use American Plumbing, without hesitation, whenever trouble pipes up!

 + -1 moreI called the plumbing company to report the my powder room toilet was not flushing properly. I told the dispatcher that I had turned off the water supply and that there was no emergency. The plumber arrived early the next day. He and I determined that it would be a waste of money to buy new parts to fix the 40-year-old toilet. The plumber returned the following day, and installed the new water-efficient toilet in a matter of minutes. The new toilet is beautiful, and it works well. This company has responded to numerous calls during the twenty years we have lived in our 90-year-old house. We have always been completely satisfied with the company's work, and its employees have always been very professional and personable.

American Plumbing, Inc. gave me the lowest price of all and looking at all the awards on Angie's List made me comfortable in they would be the ones to go with. The plumber, Corey, arrived right on time and was very professional, knowledgeable and nice. In about an hour or so he had the water heater installed and hauled away the old one. I am very happy and will definitely be using and referring American Plumbing, Inc. to anyone I know needing a great plumber at a reasonable price.

 + 0 moreThey did a very good job and the price was very good. The only issue I had with them was trying to get phone calls returned. They did the work and did it right.
Description of Work: They came out and snaked a kitchen drain twice, but it didn’t work. They dug deep and found that the drain was never connected to the sewer line and was just draining into the dirt. All they had to do was connect the connections as it was all set up and no one ever connected it. They also fixed an outdoor faucet that leaked into the wall when turned on. They even inspected the upstairs toilet that made a thumping noise.

 + 0 moreActually, the first time they came out was on 6/3/13. The plumber was 1/2 hour early! He took off his shoes and evaluated the situation - a loose plastic cap from the middle of the cold water knob fell into the bathtub drain and blocked it off. He told me in detail a couple of ways he would try to dislodge the cap and ended up snaking the drain. After a few attempts, the water was able to flow down the drain. On 6/8/13, a different plumber came back out because the drain was blocked again. He was fully aware of the situation and didn't waste any time explaining all of the different methods he could/would be using. After plunging and snaking the drain again, water flow returned but we were told that the cap was acting like a lever in the pipe. We decided not to do any drastic work to remove the cap because we were planning on renovating the master bath in a few months anyway. He did not charge us for the second visit. He mentioned that we could snake or plunge the drain ourselves whenever this happens again - which it did a couple days later. The good news is the cap came right up out of the drain after a couple pumps of the plunger!

 + -1 moreRepairs were done in a timely manner and he was very professional, neat & clean. It was not his fault that I had a secondary leak, which he repaired at the same visit. It just ended up costing me much more than I had anticipated, since I had two separate issues.
Description of Work: He was called to assess a water leak in bathroom. Upon inspection, he determined the on/off knob for the water supply to the toilet needed to be replaced. After he got everything replaced & buttoned up, he then discovered the valve behind the wall started leaking after he replaced the outer knob. This didn't surprise me, as the plumbing in my condo is known for this type of issue. Therefore, he had to cut a small hole in my wall to access the leaking valve.
