DO NOT HIRE- Company uses unlicensed subs or at minimum won't have a licensed person overseeing your job at all, cuts corners, shingles over wood rot, does not follow installation guidelines for the products they use, will not answer or respond to calls or emails and will likely completely forget about your job after you pay. They will bill you and your insurance even after the job is finished and you have been final invoiced. As another reviewer said the invoices don't state the work that is done, only terms like "code items or Roof items" so its impossible to confirm they did what they said they would do. They will supplement your insurance to fix their own mistakes. When you bring it up they ignore you and drag their feet hoping you give up, or send "professionals" out to tell you their work is great. For me personally this led to over 7 thousand dollars in roof damage on a "brand new roof" as well as needing to replace windows and siding due to them dragging out patchwork repairs for almost 2 years. Almost $15,000 dollars later its a BIG NO FROM ME DAWG. Updated to add: Photos of unresolved damages from Universal Builders-this is AFTER they sent someone out 3 or 4 times to fix the wood rot! Then when I made a review on yelp the owner's wife tried to bury it calling it fake and making a fake review herself. How much more dishonest could a company be! Do yourself a favor and use literally anyone else. I can't tell you how much sleep I've lost over this, not worth the damage to my home and didn't get what was promised. These photos do not even begin to cover the amount of things this company initially shingled over. i could keep going but just do yourself a favor and do your research and pick a different company.

Our experience with Universal Builders was great from beginning to end. Their team is extremely professional and made the entire process very easy to navigate. The finished project turned out better than we could have imagined and I have recommended them to several of my friends and colleagues already. I will definitely consider them for future big projects on our house.

It went great! They cleaned up daily after the whole crew worked. It took them 4 days to install my entire room. Rain slowed them down by one day and couldn't work. The crew was very professional and well trained. I would recommend Universal Home Builders to anybody!

Everything was absolutely OUTSTANDING from our first contact with Universal Builders and the initial damage survey through the completion of the repairs. All of the sub-contractors were very professional and completed their work in a timely, quality manner. I particularly appreciated the fact that Universal had one of their managers on site for the start of the work by any of their sub-contractors and also followed up and inspected the completion of the work to ensure that everything was done correctly. Troy Imes who was our primary contact is a true professional and an asset to Universal - would have liked to have had more managers like him when I was in business. I have been "spreading the word" about the GREAT job that Universal did to everyone who I can think of who might need their services. Although this repair was primarily covered through our homeowners insurance, I would not hesitate to utilize Universal for any other work that I needed.

Universal Builders of America, Inc. (UBA) did an excellent job of replacing my roof. All UBA reps and roofing crew were very professional. Chris Darity my UBA rep went to extreme measures to make sure I was pleased with all work preformed. Chris handled all the insurance paperwork and gave me copies of everything. The materials were drop shipped and placed exactly were I asked so they would be out of the way . Three days later, a roofing crew showed up around 8 AM, stripped the old single layer roof, has the new roof installed on my two story home by 4:30PM had every thing cleaned up and were gone by. 5PM! With the exception oh the new roof, one could not tell they had been here. They the roofing crew even went through my flower beds looking for stray shingle nails. UBA is a top notch Company all the way! I highly recommend Universal Builders of America, Inc. for your roofing needs!

The company called promptly to schedule the new roof. The materials were sent out and placed in the pre-arranged spot as not to block anything. The foreman arrived before the work crew and explained how the job would proceed. When the work crew arrived you could tell immediately they were professionals. Team work was obvious. The equipment they used was excellent and the dump trailer for the old roof was top notch equipment. This was a 4 man crew and they worked like 8 men. I was so impressed. They stripped my roof of the old shingles and then systematically pulled every old nail out before starting the new roof. Made all repairs where I was having the old box vents removed to replace with a ridge vent. No short cuts here. Repaired the holes properly. The roof went down like clockwork. Pulled off the vinyl siding on my dormers and put rain and ice shield down along the dormers and in all the valleys. Laid the felt paper down and began roofing. Six nails in every shingle and they never missed. It was put on straight and correct. The ridge vent was cut right and installed properly. When the roof was finished the workers blew all the debris and sawdust off the roof and cleaned my gutters. The clean up around the house was excellent. I have found only 5 scattered nails from the many that were removed. I failed to mention they covered my shrubs to protect them from falling debris. I had also mentioned a small detail to the foreman where an old piece of flashing by my gutter to divert water had to be removed to replace the roof. I had asked for them to replace it with new. They did not forget this very small detail and in fact went to great pains to make it perfect. In closing I will say this. UBOA took care of me in every way possible. I am not easily impressed but all I can say about UBOA is "WOW". I am retired and my neighbor and I sat on his porch and marveled at the workmanship. All roofs should be installed like mine. During this entire process from start to finish the company always returned my calls and had answers when you called with questions. I would especially like to comment on my sales representative and the foreman who oversaw the work. The sales representative was Chris Darity and he is a credit to the company. Sincere, caring, and honest are the best terms I can use to describe him. The job foreman was as good as it gets. He was an accomplished builder himself and certainly had a good pulse on the work being done. He checked behind the workers and made sure the work was done to company standards although he would not have had to due to the excellent work crew who did the job. I believe you get what you pay for with UBOA. I am sure they will honor their warranty based on everything I have seen or experienced(should not need any though due to the great roofing). This will probably be my last roof on this house due to my age but I am glad UBOA installed it. I highly recommend this company and it is my pleasure to submit this review as I am so satisfied with the results the company had with assisting me with my claim and the excellent roof I received. Went very well. The roof was done in one day and the siding went on in about 2 days. The quality was very good and the follow ups from the project leaders were very good. The whole project was handled very well and any and all issues after the fact were handled quickly. Had a higher than normal downspout that became disconnected and a crew was out within 2 days to fix it. Delays occurred, but it was more on the part of money coming in slowly from the insurance company than anything else. The house looks like new!!!!!!

After an initial visit and showing me evidence of the damage a recent hail storm had done to our roof, they offered to meet myself and our insurance adjuster (with Liberty Mutual) at the house one morning to inspect the roof. Our adjuster agreed that it was damaged and would need to be completely replaced. A few weeks later we visited with Joe - our project manager - and picked out replacement shingles. There was no pressure to upgrade our shingles to a one with a better warranty that was also better looking, but we did so anyway and he let us know what the schedule would be as far as materials delivery and timing of the replacement. I informed him we would be on vacation and we coordinated to make sure that the work would not be done while we were gone. As the date approached, they touched base to make sure that the shingles were delivered to the proper location on the property which they were. A few days later a crew arrived and began working. Work lasted that whole day and a few hours the next morning. During the process the workers were clean, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. I don't think I found anything but a one single scrrap of tar paper about as big as a post-it note. No nails in the grass, no damaged bushes. I was very happy with the result. The roof looks great and it has rained a tremendous amount since the installation - the roof has not leaked. I would recommend them to anyone looking to do the same thing.

The crew they had out here was very fast and efficient. They did a good job on my roof. The process of getting it done with my insurance seemed a little slow but I know it's a lot of work. I'm not sure whether it was a problem with the insurance or the roofing but they did keep me up to date on what was going on. The people in the office were very cordial.

I cancelled my contract with them within the 3 day period. If they try to persue or contact my insurance again, my attorney is ready to act quickly.This is a small town. News of bad business practices spreads VERY QUICKLY.In my case I was outside with my adjuster when the sales rep from this company tried to get my adjuster to contact him ONLY. I said NO WAY. You are to contact me! They do this so they can tell the adjuster to put their names on the check and so they know the amount your going to get from the start. Luckily I crossed this part out on the contract but I'm sure they didn't mention that to my adjuster.This is my insurance policy, my home and I paid the policy premiums. Don't give anyone the right to go over your head and make decisions regarding your home for you.

The roof on my room addition had a small leak during any heavy rain. One morning my roof had begun to leak much more than normal. I called Universal Builders of America, and they arrived to temporarily stop the leak within 2 hours. The project manager (Jacob Noland) showed up with the crew to analyze the damage and give me a quote for fixing the repairs. I agreed with Jacob's plan to replace the old leaking roof and skylights. I signed the contract with Universal Builders and they arrived 1 week later to replace the roof. The project could not have went more smoothly. Jacob and the crew members looked and acted in a very professional manner. I have already recommended them to my former co-workers, and they are currently working with my sister and brother-in-law on some storm damage repairs.
