Had concrete poured at our home driver ran off our driveway negligently ruined our other concrete. Have pictures of tire marks and a video off them going off the drive and back on. They sent a letter today an said sorry not sorry. Do not recommend working with this company. That is bad business. Take responsibility for your wrong doings in business don't brush off. That's awful!!

This company was selected over other concrete suppliers because of better quoted price. On the scheduled date, the Top Cat truck arrived 45 minutes earlier than the appointed time. Then it took Top Cat 70 minutes to pour the concrete, after which they left. After that, the poured concrete started to dry within an hour and quickly became unworkable for the project. Because the concrete dried so fast, there was not enough time to properly finish the job. The dried concrete product was also very crumbly and cracked throughout, not smooth as it should have been (see photos). As a result, we had to completely tear out the concrete in the sidewalk and re-pour it, at additional expense to us. We attempted to talk to Top Cat owner, Tom Taylor, and salesman, Steve Thomerson, but both of them told us that told Top Cat was not at fault. We are very unhappy with Top Cat and will never use them again. We do not recommend Top Cat to anyone. Buyer beware. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
Description of Work: We hired Top Cat Concrete to deliver and pour 4 yards of concrete for a new front porch/patio and adjoining sidewalk project at our home.

Response from TOP CAT CONCRETE
When the order was placed with the Dispatcher, it was for delivery to be made between 10 am and 10:30 AM. The Delivery Ticket shows the truck arrived at 10:10 am. This is not 45 minutes earlier that ordered. Ready Mix Suppliers do not pour concrete. It is discharged from a truck as requested by people actually working the concrete into place. During hot weather, workers have to be ready to get material in place and finished by no later than 90 minutes. It is designed to harden and it will do as it was designed. The truck was on the job for 3 hours. Concrete was on the ground waiting to be finished. The truck was on the job for 3 hours and due to some faulty forms the work was delayed while forms were repaired, concrete was on the ground waiting to be finished, with only 2 men to handle job requirements usually not enough manpower to properly handle job requirements. Experienced concrete workers would have avoided the results as described in the complaint. Concrete is delivered with expectation workers are ready and able to handle the material in a proper manner. When it is evident this did not happen it is not because the material was at fault and Top Cat should not be expected to make any restitution.

I was very happy overall. They were superb compared to Anderson Concrete who could not tell me the time of delivery and they charged $125 a cubic yard. They service their contract work before COD. They had no interest in my business. It wasn't worth the call.
Description of Work: I needed ready mixed concrete for several projects around my home. The biggest project is a 11' square pad for a shed foundation. Then there was some sidewalk repair, some walls for raised beds, and the front of the driveway apron (mine and a neighbors). We rented a concrete buggy from Sunbelt Rentals (Lowe's) to move the concrete from the street to the back of my lot. The Top Cat driver was very responsive and helpful with different times he had to start and stop the pour for the many projects. I had the truck an extra hour and was to be charged an extra $90 but I haven't heard that they did that. The price was $100 a cubic yard and a $25 charge for fuel. They could tell me the price and the delivery time when I called. I had to call the day before to give my credit card number and confirm the order. BTW - I had 5 guys present to do the finishing and I did some finishing myself (63 year old Mom).

DELIVERY PERSON (I BELIEVE HIS NAME WASSTEVE) WAS TERRIFIED ABOUT DRIVING ACROSS A NARROW BRIDGE THAT AT LEAST 50 ANDERSON CONCRETE TRUCKS HAD COME OVER THIS YEAR, AND ONCE ACROSS HE UNNECESSARILY BACKED HIS CONCRETE TRUCK OVER AND SEVERELY DAMAGED THE LAWN, AND ONTO A CONCRETE PAD NOT INTENDED TO SUPPORT CONCRETE TRUCKS.
