The Drainworks

They came out the same day I called. It turned out to be a clogged drain in the kitchen sink on the main level. They fixed this problem quickly and left about 20 minutes after arrival.

When I initially called Drain Works, I explained to the very nice woman that I was trying to determine if I needed to replace the tile pipes that carry water from the downspout out to the storm drain. The woman said that the tech would use a camera to determine if the pipes needed replaced and I could then receive an estimate for such a job. She never mentioned there would be a charge for this, so I assumed this was a standard part of their free estimate. I was a bit taken back when the tech Shawn advised I would have to pay $135 for him to camera the first pipe and then pay an additional $70 for each subsequent pipe. Because of the unexpected expense of this, I opted to just have one pipe examined with the camera. Shawn was very professional and explained everything he was doing. I was able to watch the TV screen as the camera traveled through the pipe and sure enough the pipe had several large cracks in it. Shawn also suggested we re-grade our garden to help with the water.

Jeff called me to give an estimate before performing the work. They did the work without me being present which was a great bonus. I did not have to be there to write a check or keep an eye on them. Trust on both sides. They did a great job and cleaned up the work site.

Jeff conducted a very detailed inspection of our sump line. After running the camera from both the curb to the house, and from the house to the curb, he found that there was a crack in the drain line itself. After digging down to the pipe, he found that the installation of the sprinkler line actually cracked the drain pipe. In addition, water had been pouring off the crack for so long, it actually created a channel back to the house (hence the constant running of the sump.) Jeff replaced the pipe, filled the channel with gravel, and the yard looks as it did prior to the work. Drainworks was fantastic, i highly recommend them. Jeff allowed me to tag along the whole time and was very informative. Also the price was fantastic ($460 for at lease four hours of work.) I highly recommend drainworks.

He arrived at the specified time and did a fast and efficient job of removing the tree roots. He was very friendly. It seems this is a small family business, and I would call them again without hesitation. I was very pleased.

This is the second job they did for us (the first was 6/03) and, again, they were helpful, efficient, on-time, and professional. I highly recommend them.

They were very good. They were prompt and got the job done in short order. The serviceman also took time to discuss things a homeowner should know about drains.

The owner, Jeff Sayre, was on time, very efficient, and let me watch everything he did. He explained his equipment and procedures clearly. He also was willing to check a second drain pipe (at minimal extra charge) even though he was behind schedule for the day. He also made several useful suggestions about replacing the damaged pvc pipe.

Shawn was on time and was very hard working and explained everything. Very pleasant experience.

They were unbelievable. They were here at three and here until seven. They had to come out the next day. They were reasonable in price and understanding. I had to get this work done to have my landscaping done and I was so happy.

They arrived a bit late, but more than made up for it in terms of dedication to getting those drains cleared and being pro-active about checking them. Both men were polite and dog and cat friendly (I have three dogs and a cat). I felt comfortable leaving them as I had a prior commitment. A friend came before they finished up.

THIS WORK COST ABOUT ONE THIRD MORE THAN I'D HOPED WOULD BE THE CASE, BUT IN VIEW OF THE EXCELLENT WORK PERFORMED, AND THE PROMPT SERVICE, I HAVE NO COMPLAINT REGARDING THE PRICE. ALSO, THE WORKMEN WERE VERY PLEASANT AND QUITE WILLING TO ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS DURING THE WEEK.

DrainWorks cleared the clog, and explained where it is happening and why. Also let me know it will happen again due to age of pipes. We discussed some tips to help keep drain clear. Then the plumber not only cleaned up after himself and returned items to under-sink area,he also put new shelf-paper on since the existing paper had gotten dirty with leaking water and the clean-out process. They came out the same day I called and were thorough, polite and very clean.

Shawn, the service technician, arrived ahead of schedule and courteously explained the camera analysis as it progressed.

We call because of backed up drains in the basement. We left a message around 11:00 PM and requested a call back first thing in the morning, and left a cell number. We did not recieve a call back until 10:40 AM. By the time that they called, we had another company scheduled for later that day. We picked them because of the Angie's List.

I got the names of some Service Provider's at 10:30 in the morning and they were out by 3:00 that afternoon. They were very courteous and the price was reasonable. They were very knowledgeable about what needed to be done and they did a fantastic job.

I can't say enough good things about THE DRAINWORKS. From the time I called until the job was done, everyone was professional, polite, punctual and kind. The first time Shawn came we were unable to find the outside sewer cleanout, so when I finally found one inside, Shawn and Lee came back. To make a long story short, it took almost 3 hours, but they removed a section of roots from the drain about 8 feet long and 4 inches in diameter (Lee said it looked like an Anaconda, and it did!). I was very impressed with the way Shawn refused to quit until the job was done right. He was very careful to keep the house clean and when he had to dig to find the outside sewer cleanout (it was buried) he was very careful not to damage my plants. It was almost 6:00 on Friday when they finished, but I didn't hear any complains. Shawn returned later to install an extention on the outside sewer cleanout to bring it above ground for next time. Thank you Shawn, Lee, and THE DRAINWORKS! You're great!

THEY DID A VERY PROFESSIONAL JOB, WITH GOOD EQUIPMENT. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR DRAIN CLEANING TO ANYONE.

WE CALLED THE DRAINWORKS TO UNCLOG A BASEMENT FLOOR DRAIN. IN THE PROCESS OF DOING A ROOT CLEAN-OUT, THEY GOT THEIR CABLE STUCK IN THE PIPE. OF THE $370 WE PAID THEM, $145 WAS FOR THEM TO USE A SPECIALIZED CAMERA TO LOCATE THEIR OWN STUCK CABLE, WHICH WE DIDN'T FIND OUT THE COST OF UNTIL WE PAID THE BILL. SINCE THE DRAINWORKS GOT HIS CABLE STUCK, HE CALLED AN EXCAVATOR NAMED INTEGRITY PLUMBING SYSTEMS TO DIG UP THE PIPE & RETRIEVE IT. WE FELT PRESSURED BY THE OWNER OF THE DRAINWORKS WHO KEPT SAYING WE WERE RESPONSIBLE. THE NEXT MORNING WE EXPRESSED OUR CONCERNS TO INTEGRITY BUT THEY STILL SHOWED UP, EXCAVATED 6' AND BROKE THE PIPE TO REMOVE THE DRAINWORKS CABLE. NOW THE DRAINWORKS IS REFUSING TO PAY THE $1600 FOR THE EXCAVATION & IS TRYING TO PAWN IT ON US. WE FEEL LIKE THE DRAINWORKS IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FACT THAT THEY GOT THEIR OWN CABLE STUCK. THEY DAMAGED OUR HOME BY DIGGING UP THE CABLE AND WE FEEL WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS.

Drainworks arrived promptly before the time scheduled. They were very polite & very honest. I definitely would recommend them.

Drainworks' receptionist was very polite. The guy who gave us an estimate (Jeff) was polite. The guy who did the work was polite, talked with my children and even let them watch. The price was more than we expected, by about $200. Because once they got the pipe dug out, they discovered that there would be a lot more work so that the pipe would be at the right angle to go under the sidewalk and then out to the street.

This was a great experience. I called in the morning, and someone came out that afternoon. The worker left the bad section of pipe which I appreciated. We're very very pleased and will definitely use them again. I felt the price was fair, but they didn't call me at work with a quote before the work was done (which made me a bit nervous).

On time and professional. Blockage seemed due to lack of rainfall in this area and a plentiful supply of tree crud that collected in the pipe. When a good rain did happen, it blocked the works. He also had a power water-jet machine, a root borer and a pipe camera (for visual inspection) that he could have used. Fortunately, his simple, first approach worked! Very reasonable fee and work is guaranteed. My experience was good and I would recommend Drainworks to others.

The job was scheduled for immediately the next morning, after my afternoon call. Mike and Lee were punctual to the minute, knowledgeable about the problem and remedies, and went right to work. Excellent job. They cleaned up and gave recommendations about future prevention and maintenance.
