Northern Lighting

Northern Lighting has a good selection and easy to use website. I selected 3 outdoor light fixtures for pier mounts. They also required a mount piece, sold separately. I drove there to pick them up. They had the option of phoning from the car and having the items brought out, to minimize contact due to covid. I took advantage of that. The people I worked with online, by email, and at the store were all very helpful, professional, and personable. Every time I need lights, I got to them because they are the best I've found in the Columbus area.

Scott Metz worked with us at Northern Lighting. He very helpful. He explained all the options to us. We would recommend him. We went with some fixtures that had LED lights that the bulbs could easily be replace instead of ones that were self-contained and the whole unit would need to be replaced.

We just moved to Westerville from Hampton, VA and needed to have a chandelier rewired. Fred and the other associates made us feel like we were the owners. They exceeded our expectations every step of the way. We did not know that old fashioned customer service still existed.

They were wonderful. I think they are reasonable. They have good sales. It is a family run business which is really nice to be around. They have many lights. You walk in and there is just so many lights. I think they are just more friendly. They call you back and email you. They let you walk around and give you suggestions.

Michael was super. He wouldn't quit until he was sure it was done & done right. They were just incredibly nice people & very patient. We ended up with exactly what we wanted & it was a pleasure to do work with people who care that much about doing a job the right way.

fThe staff was extremely helpful in picking all my lights, as well as using my old ceiling light glass and fitting it into a new base fixture. They looked at photos of my house and helped match the style, size and color with the house. They are very patient and listened to all my concerns, answered numerous questions and provided invaluable advice.

I don't believe they do any installations. They are a lighting store, but a fabulous one. Like a candy store for me!

Northern Lighting could not have been more helpful and professional with the items I needed for our remodeling project. Even though I live in Delaware and would have to drive past Capital Lighting to get there, I would now go to Northern everytime. Kudos for excellent selection and customer service.

We had a very positive experience at Northern Lighting. Lori Hixon is very knowledgeable about various types of lighting bulbs; incandescent, fluorescent and especially LED! She was willing to spend time with us to make sure we were well informed and she made the confusing world of lighting more understandable. We were glad to be able to work with Lori and to avail ourselves of the great discount offered by Northern Lighting.

We purchased a large package of decorative lighting for Kitchen, B'fast Nook, Dining, Study, Hallway, and M. Bedrm in 2004 from Northern Lighting. The price was right and everything has worked out wonderfully since then. In 2009 one of the pendant lights in the kitchen track light failed and we we had a ballast replaced in it. It failed again recently and of course it is long out of warrantee. Working with a Northern Lighting young man behind the counter, he searched hard and was able to come up with a complete replacement that was a close match. However, as we talked he suggetsed that I replace only the ballast, cord and socket part and retain and use the old pendant shade pieces. That gave me an exact match at half the cost of a new replacement. That's why we always shop at Niorthern Lighting!

Northern Lighting has a wide selection of lighting products and very helpful staff members.

Northern Lighting staff members were very helpful in ordering both the cabinet and a replacement for a shelf that had broken in transit. The cabinet itself had some small problems with fit and finish, which was not the fault of Northern Lighting but did reflect poorly on its choice of product line. We discovered later that we could have ordered the cabinet online for 40% less; the extra money did buy us hassle-free service, and we're not unhappy with the outcome.

There are lots of samples in the store and the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They are very honest with showing you a less expensive item that looks just as nice as a more expensive fixture. They communicate very well and let you know when you order is in.

Had to put the whole light fixture together. Have to go back for another light bulb that they forgot to include for free.

Price was fair and delivery of fixtures prompt.

Last Saturday I visited three lighting stores looking for a new kitchen fixture. Northern was the only one where they paid any attention to me. They answered all my questions and were very friendly. It's a great place to shop.

We worked with Amanda through the entire process. She is very knowledgeable and was able to give us many recommendations given our taste. She pointed out a great deal on a ceiling fan that looks great in our son's jungle room. Since she has had experience with various builders before she was able to give us a time line when we would have to make our decisions and even called when we were close to missing a deadline.

Indoor lamp was damaged. Brought it back. Salesperson who was very helpful with our purchases was very apologetic. Replaced lamp. Extended return policy after I explained outdoor fixtures weren't going to be installed within the return policy time frame. Company is very helpful and willing to accommodate the customer's needs.

KATHIE WAS PATIENT AND THOUGHTFUL. HER FOLLOW-UP WAS A LITTLE SLOW BUT ALWAYS WORTH WAITING FOR. HELPFUL IN THINKING ABOUT HOW THINGS BLEND.

AMANDA, WAS VERY HELPFUL IN GUIDING THROUGH OUR DESIGN IDEAS. ONE VISIT WAS DURING A THUNDERSTORM AND THE POWER WENT OUT! SHE DIDN'T SKIP A BEAT AS SHE LIT A CANDLE, AND WE CONTINUED TO REVIEW OUR LIGHTING OPTIONS. THEY GRACIOUSLY ALLOWED US TO RETURN ONE EXTRA PENDANT FIXTURE THAT DIDN'T FIT IN WITH OUR PLAN. THEY HAD THE MOST COMPETIVE PRICING OF ALL LIGHTING STORES I CALLED.

WE SEARCHED ALL THE HOME-IMPROVEMENT STORES FOR MATCHING LIGHTS FOR OUR FOYER AND HALLWAY, AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WE LIKED. SO WE LOOKED AT THE LIGHTING STORES AND WERE PLEASED BY OUR EXPERIENCE WITH NORTHERN LIGHTING. THEY HAD A WIDE SELECTION OF LIGHTS, AND WE FOUND MULTIPLE SETS WE LIKED. THE LIGHTS WERE REASONABLY PRICED AS SHOWN, BUT WE WERE DELIGHTED WHEN THEY TOOK AN ADDITIONAL 30% OFF THE LIST PRICE WHEN WE CHECKED OUT. THEY EVEN GAVE US LIGHT BULBS FOR OUR NEW LIGHTS.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! AFTER VISITING 3 LARGE CHAINS AND NOT FINDING WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR, A FRIEND REFERRED US TO NORTHERN LIGHTING. THEY HAVE AN AWESOME SELECTION AND GREAT PRICING. STAFF WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. WE RELUCTANTLY BROUGHT OUR 2 YEAR OLD WITH US AND WERE THRILLED TO FIND COLORING BOOKS, LEGOS AND SUCKERS TO ENTERTAIN HER. WE WILL DEFINITELY SHOP HERE AGAIN.

THIS INVOLVED A PURCHASE RATHER THAN WORK PERFORMED. A HANGING LIGHT FIXTURE FOR OVER A KITCHEN TABLE PROVED TO HAVE A FAULTY SOCKET WHEN WE TRIED TO INSTALL IT. THE FOLKS AT NORTHERN LIGHTING FIXED IT WITHIN A DAY, REIMBURSED US FOR THE ADDED TIME THE ELECTRICIAN SPENT ON THE INSTALLATION, AND THREW IN SOME COUPONS TO ENSURE THAT WE'D COME BACK--WHICH WE WILL WHENEVER WE NEED NEW LIGHTS.
