Description of Work: I originally contacted Muth Roofing in November 2012 to have them come out to check out my gutters. I've had a problem with moisture in my basement whichI I felt was from the gutters over-flowing on the east side of my home. They came out and inspected my roof and gutters. Tony, the tech who did the inspection provided me with pictures of my roof. After talking to him, I decided to take out their "extended service" plan. This is a plan whereby they come out and clean all gutters. check flashings,skylights, valleys and re-seal/paint all flashings at the cost of $425 for the year. After the inspection, I was sent a very detailed report, along with photos, of the repairs that needed to be done on my roof/gutters. I called and made an appointment for the work to be done. On February 8, Muth came out and repaired all repairs needed. They stayed most of the day. The service people were wonderful. What impressed me the most was the fact that I have had other roofers/gutter repair people over to see why I ahd the gutter over-flow problem costing me well over $600. Muth found what the problem was and fixed it. They also checked out all gutter seams, and installed ice/water shields over roof pipes onto roof deck. All flashings were replaced as needed with shingles to match my exisiting roof. My gutter over-flow problem was resolved by Muth installing new custome backflashing under my existing shingles and fascia wood. At the completion of the job, all materials were hauled away. I did not have one piece of debris in my yard. My dealings with Muth Roofing was excellent. Their office staff, Holly and Heather, were very cordial and and followed-up with a phone call to see if everything was to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Muth Roofing to any Emily's list member.

Description of Work: They were great! I had a giant water stain on my ceiling - the roofers came out to inspect and found that the skyline needed replacing. They took the measurements and kept me involved in the entire process. It took two hours to remove the old one and install the new skylight - they also cleaned my gutters.

Description of Work: I purchased the Attic and ventilation inspection for $85. They were thorough with their inspection. The original cardboard baffles were falling and blocking the soffit vents. I also have a ridge vent (from the new roof) with gable vents which were open essentially making the remaining open soffit vents non functional. After the inspection they looked at the condition of the roof (which was good) and caulked any open spots in the flashing. They gave me an estimate to fix the baffles, seal the gables, blow in additional insulation and run the bathroom fans to the roof(code now). I hired Muth to perform the work and have been extremely satisfied since. My upstairs is much more comfortable. I am very happy and have recommended Muth to others.

Description of Work: I needed roofing and siding work done. When looking at companies on Angie's List I did not look closely to see that this company only does roofing work. I cancelled the estimate but appreciated their very prompt and courteous response to my request for an estimate.

Description of Work: Had Muth come out to give me an estimate. When I received their estimate, it was not clear to me what was what on it. It included removing plywood from the roof, but there is no plywood on the roof (part of the leaking problem). There were two prices mentioned one that included a very short warranty and another price that included a slightly longer warranty but was ~ 30% more in cost and it wasn't even clear if the 2nd price covered the same work as the first. It doesn't make sense to me that a reputable company would charge so much for a short warranty to cover their workmanship. On the positive side, the man who came out to look at the roof was willing and able to push a tree limb off the roof (different part of the roof) and I appreciated his help with that.

Description of Work: In March of this year, we purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for Muth Roof for a Roof Inspection and maintenance. [we had had them remove an ice dam and were very happy with them, as reflected in my previous report of 2/8/11] . I scheduled that for 7/14/11. Anthony and Chris showed up and seemed to do a thorough inspection, pointing out what they felt were the problems. They painted and caulked around the chimney; sealed rubber gaskets;, found a line of shingles across the front porch that they felt were installed incorrectly and needed to be removed/reflashed/reinstalled; and found 2 'cracked' shingles that need replaced. They gave me an estimate for $350.00 to replace the front porch issue and the two cracked shingles on the rear of the house [claimed site of previous water leak]. Since then, they have called me 4 times to find out about our decision on the estimate and what the hold up is. [meanwhile, we have been out of town for over a week and it has only been 10 days!!] Since we are currently planning a siding replacement--I called 7/26/11 for an estimate to JUST replace the two cracked shingles [we HAVE the replacement shingles]. Bruce called me back and said I had questions?? I said "no, I just asked to be faxed an estimate on replacing the two cracked shingles. We don't care to do the front porch at this time." He stated "there is a minimum charge of $275 dollars, so for $75 more, you can have the whole thing done" I reiterated that we do NOT WANT the front porch done at this time--and asked if he was going to charge $275 to simply replace the two shingles, which we have, that were cracked. His reply was "yes" With that, I stated we would find someone else. I am not being ROBBED to put two shingles on my roof at the rate of $137.50/shingle on a job that might take them 20 minutes! It would take longer to set up the ladders, than it would to do the job. [besides--I had already paid the $199 for the estimate, essentially] Sorry folks, I will find another contractor!!
