Mowing & More

I was extremely excited to see this special deal on Angie's list as we had just bought a new home on a wooded lot that had quite of bit of fallen debris. It took 8 days for the provider to contact me and schedule an appointment. I was the "first appointment for the day", and the provider didn't show up till 3:15pm. Two gentlemen came, one who was not in adequate condition to move large branches and wood piles. My 4-hour labor turned into 2-hour; 30 minutes was spent consulting (a.k.a. arguing about why I wouldn't let them drive their truck on my neighbor's lawn and into my backyard) 60-minutes of one worker moving debris while the other was organizing the truck/fixing a mower, and 30-minutes of cleaning up their equipment. Ultimately, very little debris was removed from the property and we will have to hire another company to do so. I'm a frequent visitor to Angie's list and this is the first negative review I've written in almost 5-years. Update: I received a letter in the mail for a full refund from the provider. I had not asked for this, and applaud the provider for the professional manner in which he handled this situation.

Ralph does an excellent job for a reasonable price. I recommend him for general lawn work.

The job was done very well. He finished the job in one day.

Ralph has been great to work with. He is flexible and always suggests new ideas.

He was helpful to me. After I left the country he let me know a tree fell on my house and helped me remove it. I wouldn’t have known about it had he not called me.

I normally mow myself, but was heading out of town and rain prevented me from mowing. It had been about 6 days since I mowed, so it was long. I emailed their service on Wednesday May 19th and Ralph called the next day and said he could come out and do the lawn. I trusted them, from the Angies List and was already headed out of town so I was not home when he mowed. We returned late Sunday night around 8pm and the lawn looked horrible. It had been cut too low and grass was dying under the clippings.I raked until 10pm and got most of it up. I finished raking the next day. There were also bald spots. I called Ralph and he said he raised his height to 4 inches, but probably should have gone to 5 1/2. I felt he was a professional and the lawn should not have been left in such a poor state. In his defense, the grass was high and probably still wet but I expected a better job. Truthfully I have never had good success with the outfits that use professional mowers. Our lawn is more conducive to a hand mower. I will avoid using any service at all.

Called Mowing and more around Friday for estimate of lawn mowing and mulching service. We had just moved into a new house and the grass was long already and we do not own a mower. He came by for an estimate on Tuesday. Said grass was long and needed to be mowed ASAP would probably have to leave a little high to get it done. Mowing he estimated at $50 and Mulching $600. Estimates seemed high, so waited on mulching but gave go ahead for mowing as he was the first company listed on Angie's list. He came late Thursday, the first day without rain. After mowing the lawn is uneven, there are spots where he missed! He did not bag the clippings or offer it, when he knew state of the lawn going into it. The lawn looks awful, it appears he just went as fast as he could and left. I had to go buy a rake and rake the lawn at 6pm at night when I returned home. I was extremely disappointed. I know the lawn was high and probably damp, but so did he and it is his profession!! He is the owner opperator of this company and he inspected the lawn before he went there. I will not hire him again and will not rec him.

As spring approached, I had planned to be moving out of my home by May 15th, so I was in need of a mowing service that would be reliable but did not require a full year contract. Through Angie's List, I found Mowing & More. I hired Ralph to mow simply through my move date, and he mowed my lawn 6 times during that period. The work was excellent. The lawn was kept in perfect maintenance state while he worked on it, and the edging was clean. He was polite and professional in our dealings.

I'm going to go with another company. Their price was higher than someone else. I didn't have much contact with them; I just got an email from them. They were my second choice.

Our lawn had become VERY long and I called Ralph to come out and get it under control. His communication and scheduling were both excellent. We had to reschedule the mowing a few times due to rain but Ralph always did a good job communicating when work would be done. Once the weather cooperated Ralph showed up when expected and did a great job. Within the course of a few hours our lawn was neatly mowed, edged, and trimmed.

I will have Raplh back in the spring!

He is doing a fine job, is better than our previous person, and is only a few dollars more. He also hauled away a lot of wood and debris and did a lot of clean up after some wind damage. It's been a very positive experince. He always shows up and is very responsive to calls if I need to add something or request something different. He always gets it right. He comes any time during the week. As far as meetings, he has always been on time.

They did great work and on time. The price listed is what it cost everytime they came out. I am no longer in the area, but if I was I would still be using them.

EXISTING VOLUNTEER LAWN CARE WAS NOT RELIABLE AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS USED WERE DISHONEST (FALSE BILLINGS). MOWING & MORE WAS ABLE TO START SAME WEEK I CALLED AND CAN RESPOND IN ONE WEEK OR LESS FOR SUDDEN NEEDS. THEY WILL ALSO FLEX THEIR SCHEDULE TO AVOID WORKING WHEN WEDDINGS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES ARE SCHEDULED. RECEIVE MULTIPLE COMPLIMENTS FROM MEMBERS ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK AND WOULD LIKE TO CONTRACT FOR YEARLY CUTTING ONCE THE FUNDS ARE APPROVED. PRICE IS ON PAR WITH BIDS FROM OTHER LANDSCAPERS, BUT RESPONSE IS BETTER AND QUALITY EQUAL IF NOT BETTER. PRICE LISTED IS PER VISIT ON 3+ ACRES WITH GRASS AND LANDSCAPING.
