Description of Work: ran emergency drain line from sump pump and replaced sump after drain plugged(the drain had been snaked 2 days prior by another company and was declared "open" by another company. Something was terribly wrong with water suddenly pouring in the basement. The other company had no weekend or emergency contacts so I called Jack Woods. They came out right away and stated whatever the other company did was "wrong" and ran emergency line to drain the basement. I had a battery back up but the water could not be pumped out because the line was plugged.

Description of Work: When I called for the appointment the dispatcher asked if I could do an eight o'clock appointment. I asked if there was a 9 available and he told me no, our first appointment is at 8 if I schedule it at 9 I would be the second appointment and he couldn't promise when they would get here. When no one showed at 8 I waited ;until 8:30 and I called. He then told me the first appontment was between 8 and 9 when I reminded him what he told me he argued with me about it. It is now 9:15and no one has showed yet. I missed the morning at my job to wait. Don't rely on them to be punctual. If they ever get here I am not allowing them to do the work.

Description of Work: There was a recent article in the Angie's List member magazine that talked about how a leaky toilet can increase your water bill. I had noticed that our water bill had spiked this summer but I thought maybe it was due to our sprinkler system. After we had our sprinklers shut down for the winter, the bill continued to stay high. I realized the toilet in our master bath might have a leaky tank (all summer long) so I went through the plumber listings on Angie's list and decided to give Jack L Woods a call. Because of my work schedule, I'm limited as to when I am able to be home, but Jack L Woods was able to work around my schedule. The plumber assigned to my house called before he came and was ready to work during the scheduled time. He showed me the worn out flapper as well as some other inner piece that were old and not working properly and replaced them quickly. Thanks to Angie's list I had a coupon for the service which was completed to my expectations. On my latest water bill, the cost did drop and I expect it to go back into the normal range now that the toilet is no longer leaking. Description of Work: In February the main water shut-off valve was replaced, along with new faucets for the washing machine and the Moen parts for our bath shower was obtained and replaced (the first fellow did not nor did I think to "feel the water temp" and it was too cool, necessitating a follow up within the next few days). Also the toilet was adjusted. In June, we had the hot water tank replaced ($700+) In October we had some shut off valves replaced and our kitchen faucet was replaced. The last repairman actually discussed "senior pricing" which was more than the Jenny's list coupon. In general, I felt that we had good service. We had called the Water Works but they seemed too busy to respond to two calls plus I stopped into their business; no one ever called back.

Description of Work: Fixed my dripping shower head by replacing a special Delta cartridge. Done in under an hour and even helped me with a leaky toilet by replacing the flap. The cartridge alone was $55 so I was very impressed with the overall price. Would definitely use them again for any plumbing needs.

Description of Work: Set appointment for 6.9.2011 b/w 1000 - 1500. Jack L Woods dispatcher called 1 hour before to update plumber's ETA. Mark the Plumber showed up and switched out our faucet. We originally purchased a Delta faucet at Home Depot and had that on hand. However, at the last minute, we decided to buy a Moen faucet at Lowes which we liked better. Well, when Mark was 1/2 way through the Moen faucet installation, he informed me the "side" handle on the faucet could not go back the entire way b/c it would hit the wall. After informing him that we had a Delta faucet on hand, he gladly switched out the faucet and did not complain at all about the additional work. He also went as far as to explain the quality differences b/w Moen & Delta (in his mind, very minimal). This is the 2nd time we have used Angies List. Very good quality vendor.

Description of Work: Travis from Jack Woods replaced kitchen faucet, and faucets in shower /tub in a rental I own.- very considerate, did a good job,kept the area clean while he was working, cleaned up after he was finished, and advised me about replacing some tiles, and even re-calked the existing tiles for me- and did a very neat job of it. I appreciate the extra effort he did on this job.

Description of Work: A couple projects: first, a major overhaul of plumbing in order to update an existing bathroom so shower jets could handle things properly. Installation of new electric water heater - including organizing permit and inspection with city of UA. Everything was done beautifully, on time, and one could barely tell they had been there. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I have used them for several small repairs as well, they are always great. Some people feel they are a little pricey, but the peace of mind from knowing it's done so well is worth it to me, and it does not seem out of range.

Description of Work: Shower was leaking and even thought my husband is handy because the part wasn't available at any home store, (it would have needed to be ordered and taken days), we called Jack L Woods on a Sunday and even with the 'weekend' rate we felt it was very reasonable and they were there with in a couple of hours.
