We do show that the member called in on 10/8/08. This was approximately 3 weeks after Hurricane Ike pushed up from the south and severely damaged 1000's of home in central Ohio. Our facility was out of power for nearly 2 weeks due to this and we ran only our phone system, some lights and copiers by way of generator. Our call volume was overwhelming. We had 7 people that could not keep up with the calls. We were telling callers that at this time we will take your information and if possible try and contact another contractor to help them. We told them that we would follow up in a few weeks when possible. We also had this same message on a voice mail for those that our call takers could not get to. We have never dealt with anything like this in our 21 years in business. There is no way to prepare for the calls that were coming in. I am sorry that this happened and that we were not able to properly respond to the member. Due to these circumstances I would hope that the member might reevaluate his complaint. I am not sure what prompted this nearly one year later ? Todd Feazel

I contacted Feazel through their website to get an estimate to repair a few missing shingles and some soffit replacement. Diane called the next day (Weds.) to say they got my information and someone would call me Thursday or Friday to set up a time to give me an estimate. On Sunday evening, Patrick called to say he would be out on Monday sometime to look at the roof. He called me at work on Monday to tell me I only had 3-4 missing shingles, but there were some shingles curving too and the whole roof will need replaced soon. I told him I just wanted the repairs for now since I just bought the house and would not be going thru my insurance. He continued to tell me they are working with a lot of homes in the area from the storms this year (Sept., Dec. and Feb. according to him) and I could go thru insurance. I, again, told him I would not go thru insurance since I just bought the house a week ago. He proceed to tell me that he will have to talk to the owners to see if they will even do a repair and call me back. I have not heard from him since. I do believe it is because I only want a few shingles replaced and it isn't worth their time even though they advertise "repairs" on their website.

We had contacted the member immediately upon being informed of the report submitted to Angie's List. Being in the contracting industry for twenty-one years, we realize that every project may not go as smoothly as we would like, but we pride ourselves in being able to address potential problems head on and try to satisfy our customers needs and desires as often as we can. We apologized for the miscommunication, it was learned that the representative that had been out to visit the member was not a repair specialist and had been trained on full roof replacements only, and that we most definitely do repairs and service work. When asked if there was anything we could do to help atone for the miscommunication the member had notified us that she was already under contract to have the repairs on her home completed within a couple days. I let the member know that if there was anything we could do to help make up for the miscommunication to please contact us and we would do everything possible to atone. The member contacted us after several days to inform us that the other contractor had not showed up to complete the work and if we would like to come out and give an estimate we could. Within several hours the member and our organization agreed to complete the necessary repairs at a discounted rate to help accommodate for the miscommunication. The member agreed that if everything went well they would write an updated report on Angie's List. We ended up completing the repairs for the member within 3 days of signing the contract and at a loss. The repairs to the members property cost us more to complete than what we had charged the member. Through a follow up conversation with the Member, she agreed that she was satisfied with the work completed on her property. It has been nearly two months since we had completed the repairs for the member and they have not submitted a revised report.

They did a super job! The rep that gave me the estimate came back several times because my insurance company kept debating how much or how little they would cover. He finally said he'd just evaluate, estimate and take care of the problem for me. He was very helpful, worked around my schedule coming often in the evening, structured a schedule for roof replacement in my time schedule and did a professional and proper job. The inspection passed without fail, their clean up was perfect, explained things about the job thoroughly, met the promised schedule in time for my retirement party and multiple guests. He also left me remaining shingles for future repair if ever necessary. He and his crew were great to work with and I highly recommend them.

Well, the roof has not leaked... But, just about everything else that could go wrong, has. 1. They showed up with about half the number of workers we were told to expect. They worked all day but were not going to beat sunset and incoming rain, so they tarped about 1/3 of the front and were still nailing at 9pm (not easy to see, so is that quality work?). The next morning, they showed up with more workers, but were going to just plug the holes (from the tarp) in our brand new shingles with silicone. We had to insist they tear off and replace the punctured shingles. 2. We noticed that the felt was not being installed all the way to the edge and tried to ask several workers about it. We were finally pointed to the supervisor, but he could not understand my question. I had to point and say no a lot until a city inspector arrived and agreed and we called their office and someone called the workers. 3. the first day, they tarped the drive and our landscaping, but not the house as promised. We found 6 window screens and our patio screen door damaged. We also found black marks all over the stucco of our home. The second day, they did not tarp much and oil leaked onto the drive and some plants were flattened in our landscaping. Several gutters and downspouts showed damage as well. 4. Just days after the work, we started having downspouts clog. Feazel sent someone to unclog them and we thought we were done. A couple weeks later, a strong rain caused others to clog and overflow. We had to go out in the pouring rain to dismantle them and have pictures of the clogs. In my opinion, their idea of cleaning the gutters was to shove all the grit and crud into the downspout, causing the clogs. 5. We had to remind them of the loose fascia and the promise to fix it multiple times since no one seemed to remember that. 6. We found about a dozen nails in the yard after they left for good. 7. Our outside GFCI was overloaded the first day and first thing the second day, it failed. They sent an electrician who installed a spare GFCI I had (or they would have charged us). The furnace exhaust was left touching wood as it passes through the attic. Because of all the issues, my wife and I used an extra vacation day to monitor the work. To begin with, the permit sat in Feazel's office for weeks while we were being told the city was holding them up from starting. My wife checked with the city to find it was mailed weeks prior. The office had it and forgot it. Certain areas require permits and perform inspections. This protects the homeowner. The inspector came several times throughout the day but the work was not ready. They sent a guy here on his way home for the final inspection. Feazel wanted to use the inspection as an excuse for the 2 day job. If they had sent the promised 18-20 workers, they would have been ready for the inspection and been done in 1 day. They fixed all we knew of, but we just unclogged the last 3 gutters ourselves.
Description of Work: Feazel replaced our entire roof. We were promised; 1. a one day replacement. 2. an English speaking supervisor. 3. that the entire house would be draped and tarped to protect windows, screens, plants, and the house itself. 4. that the gutters and downspouts would be cleaned to avoid trouble after the job. 5. a loose fascia piece would be reattached. 6. they would clean up the yard of clutter and nails. 7. a professional, quality job.

Given the opportunity to to do it over again I don't know if we would've approached it the same way, but the job got done. They did what they said they were going to do and it solved the problem that we wanted it to. However, I wasn't really blown away with their work and as the years have gone past I don't think it was the best quality work. There were a lot of nails that were left even though they went over the property with a magnet.

The staff who answered the phone was very courteous and set up an appointment for an appraisal within 48 hours. The gentleman who came to our house was prompt and professional. He took about 10 minutes to access the damage to our roof and then explained to us what damage there was. He approximated the cost of a replacement roof to be $12,500 which we found to be very expensive based on what neighbors had paid for new roofs. We chose to use a different company for this reason.

They got everything done in 1 day. They cleaned up nicely, I didn't have to worry about shingles left on the ground. It was amazing, they even took some of the shingles that had been there from before (where the prior company left them). They were polite, they were great, and they didn't even take a break. I'm very pleased with them, and my roof looks wonderful. They did no damage to any of my plants.

Feazel Vice President of Operations, Saxe (04/08), refuses to check if vent properly placed and functioning since I filed a report with Angie?s List. Saxe asked I withdraw my comments. I shall not withdraw the facts as they happened. Feazel Roofing made money for doing no roofing work on my house.
Description of Work: I signed a contract with Feazel roofing 10/03, Feazel subcontracted with another roofing company who sent hard working Latinos to replace the roof. Only the roofing company’s supervisor spoke a little English, great difficulty communicating. I could not discuss placement of a specified second floor dryer vent so I climbed the roofing company’s ladder to point to correct placement location. The ladder incorrectly placed and the ladder feet slid down the driveway while I rode the ladder down resulting in my left leg being fractured in eleven pieces. Four surgeries and one bone graft later, I began walking after ten months. Daily pain exists and always will.

I MET WITH THE MEMBER ON APRIL 3, 2008 TO ASSESS CEILING DAMAGE. THE INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE "BLOWN-IN" INSULATION THROUGHOUT THE ATTIC WAS "PACKED" FULL THROUGHOUT THE ROOF EAVES CREATING CONDENSATION THROUGHOUT THESE AREAS. THE ROOF SYSTEM WAS INTACT AND SHOWED NO SIGNS OF PROBLEMS. I RECOMMENDED TO THE MEMBER TO HAVE THE INSULATION PULLED BACK THROUGHOUT THE ATTIC EAVES BY A LICENSED INSULATION COMPANY. I ALSO EXPLAINED TO THE MEMBER OUR USE OF SUBCONTRACTORS FOR OUR COMPLETE ROOF REPLACEMENTS, WHICH WAS NO SECRET AT THE TIME OF INSTALLATION. FEAZEL ROOFING COMPANY PERFORMED A QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTION DURING AND AFTER ALL OUR ROOF INSTALLS AND ALL WARRANTIES ARE HELD BY FEAZEL ROOFING COMPANY DIRECTLY. AFTER THE MEMBER'S UNDERSTANDING OF HIS EXISTING ATTIC FINDINGS I ASKED THAT HE CORRESPOND WITH ANGIE'S LIST, TO CLEAR UP HIS ORIGINAL REPORT. HE REFUSED TO MAKE SUCH CORRECTIONS. I FIND IT UNFAIR FOR A CUSTOMER TO GIVE US AN OVERALL "F" RATING PRIOR TO ANY REQUEST FOR WARRANTY INSPECTIONS TO DIAGNOSE A POTENTIAL PROBLEM. THIS IS AN INSULATION CONCERN THAT I MADE THE CUSTOMER AWARE OF AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO HONOR ANY ROOF WARRANTY SHOULD THEY ARISE.

LET ME FIRST START BY SAYING THAT IF THIS DID IN FACT HAPPEN WE REGRET LOSING THE MEMBER AS A POTENTIAL CLIENT AND APOLOGIZE FOR HER FRUSTRATION. SITUATIONS DO OCCUR IN A BUSY OFFICE ENVIRONMENT AND ITEMS GET MISPLACED. LET ME ALSO SAY THAT EVERY PHONE CALL TAKEN IS IMMEDIATELY ENTERED INTO OUR COMPUTER SYSTEM AND APPOINTMENTS ARE SET AS WE HAVE THE POTENTIAL CLIENT ON THE PHONE. WE HAVE LOOKED IN OUR SYSTEM FOR THE MEMBER AND COULD NOT FIND HER ANYWHERE. IS THERE A POSSIBILITY THAT SHE COULD HAVE CONTACTED ANOTHER CONTRACTOR THAT DID NOT GET BACK WITH HER AND SHE CONFUSED THEM WITH US? I FEEL THAT IT IS UNFAIR FOR HER TO SUBMIT GRADES OF F'S FOR ONE PHONE CALL NOT RETURNED. SHE ALSO STATED THAT WE PERFORMED WORK. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE, SHE SAID SHE CALLED AND WE NEVER CALLED HER BACK? SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS OR WISH TO DISCUSS THIS UNFORTUNATE SITUATION PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME ANY TIME. A company representative, Jason, came to my house at a scheduled appointment. He gave me background history of the Feazel company, and asked what I had in mind for my new roof. I described the type and color of roof I desired and he showed me some samples. I wanted to upgrade from my former roof. Jason explained the complete process of the installation, and asked where I wanted the materials delivered, as well as where I wanted the debris dumpster placed. The office scheduled the installation, and kept me completely informed, and answered all questions I had. The workers arrived as scheduled, and installed my new roof in one day's time. I was very impressed that they were very concerned to protect my decks and landscaping. They were friendly and did a terrific job of cleaning up when they were finished. In fact, they protected my property and cleaned up much better than the "well known" company I used nine years ago.
Description of Work: Removed existing shingles to wood decking. Prep and renail all loose decking to provide smooth substrate for shingle installation. Install ice guard in valleys, along eaves and chimney. Install GAF deck armor underlayment. Install 147 ft. of drip edge on rakes, and 150 ft. on eaves. Install/replace 8 hat vents. Install new soil stack flashing kits. Install 46 ft of pre-finished metal seam. Install GAF Timberline 30 yr shingles, 6 nails each. Clean and renail all loose gutters. Average. It rained the day after they put the roof on and I got 8 small water spots....no major eye sores. They came out and repaired the venting; they had forgotten to put caps on the end. Although I would hire them again, I would be more open to other vendors. If need be, I will use their guarantee!!! I don't expect any more problems, but it is too early to tell.
Description of Work: They put a new roof on my residential house...standard roof. Put flex crown around chimney and water sealed the chimney (extras cost around $1000). Work done within 2 days. Looked reasonable. Relative to competitors, their sales process was very complete, but they didn't leave much sales literature. My research showed they offered the best guarantee and shingle for the price of the 5 vendors I checked.

The salesman was very personable and the work crew was extremely hardworking and polite. The crew left our yard and driveway cleaner than they found it. Like I said before it was the biggest cluster ever, Cliff never gave us the call to let us know when the roofers were going to come by and drop off the material, instead we get guys at our house at 7:15 A.M. ringing our doorbell letting us know that they are there to drop material off. We had talked to Cliff before when we signed the contract and let him know that we needed to make arrangements to move our boat, cars and put our dogs in a kennel. You would think after an *explicit* chewing it would not happen again, but I was right, it did. The siding guys did the same thing, no phone call, no notice to drop material off, same thing with the gutter guys, no phone call no notice, we have guys climbing around our house, banging away without any notice. I can't say anything bad about the crews that did the work other than they did not clean up after themselves too well. My last encounter with Mr. Cliff Romero was not a good one, these guys are so unprofessional, I will never use again.
Description of Work: Feazel came out to our home and our rental property to give an estimate for how much it would cost to replaced the roof, siding and gutters at both our homes. After the third attempt to get Tom Romero to keep a meeting time and date, we asked for someone else to handle our homes. Tom gave us his father Cliff, which by no means was any better. I can honestly say if it had not been for their crews who physically did the work, we would have had them stop everything. From day 1 it was the biggest cluster explicit you can possibly imagine. I was under the impression that because we were giving them two homes to do the work on they would have been a little bit more professional. But as usual with people who I get a bad first impression with, I was right. In all honestly we should have pulled the plug on the whole deal after the third time Tom Romero did not keep his meeting or give us a phone call to let us know that he was not going to make it. I feel this is the worst service ever.

Came out and inspected roof quickly and did on site estimate, I am still waiting on their competitors for 2 months for quotes. Had to postpone job due to weather for two days. Delivered materials and put them in correct spot on driveway. Completed roof job tear off and replacement in 1 day. Gutter replacement done the next day due to darkness. Upgraded shingle to architectural type at a fair price. Supervisor came out for follow-up a couple of weeks later, replaced a downspout that wasn't long enough without any question.
