Gretchen sent out an estimator who gave me a very reasonable quote. She told me that the would start later in the week and that she would call me the day before they came out. She called me and told me they would be out to do all of the tree work and within two days they would take care of the stump. Everything happened exactly like she said it would. Due to a miscommunication between Charter Oaks and myself, one of the trees wasn't cut away from the Arbor like I wanted. After a brief conversation, they came out and took care of it at no additional charge and with no fuss.

Great! This is the second time I have used Charter Oaks. I called to get an estimate which they promptly provided. I put it in the to do file and forgot about it. I noticed that they were next door doing some work, called their office to see if they could fit our job in and they did!

They have given me a very good price on it. Unfortunately they did it on a day I was out of town. When I came back I wasn't totally satisfied. I called them and they came out in a couple days and fixed it to my satisfaction. They apologized and had no problem coming back out. The did an excellent job.

They did a good job. Would hire them again.

They provided a very reasonable estimate one day after my initial call, and completed the work within two business days of my acceptance of the estimate. I was very pleased with the results. Gretchen is very courteous on the phone.

They came out the next day to give a quote and it was much less than others we had received. They scheduled us quickly and arranged it so that we could be here for both the cutting and grinding. Gretchen was nice and helpful each time we called her. The day they were to cut the trees they were half an hour late. Gretchen called and said a meeting with the boss had run late and apologized. The day the fellow ground the stumps he was here five minutes early. In each case the work was carefully done, meticulously cleaned up and all questions were happily answered. We have already recommended them to several friends and would certainly use them again ourselves.

Had a little trouble getting the original estimate: was promised an estimate by a certain date, which did not happen. But once I phoned a second time, the estimate was on my porch the next day. They gave a bid that included a ''neighbor discount'' since my next-door neighbors wanted their huge catalpa trimmed too. So we went with Charter Oaks. The trimmers were polite and cleaned up magnificently after their work; the yard was immaculate by the time they left. As far as I can tell, the trimming was well done, and certainly both trees look cleaner once rid of their dead branches. I did wonder if the pruning of the front tree ought to have removed more of the branches over the roof of the house as requested (for safety reasons). But in any case, it's a lot better than it was before.

The gentleman who came out to give me the estimate was very knowledgeable, and had excellent suggestions for which shrubs and trees needed removing (we moved into a house with a very overgrown lot). They showed up on time to do the work, did an excellent job, cleaned up all of the debris, and didn't damage the property. I was a little shocked at how heavily they pruned the trees at the back of the property, but I think that must have been because they were clearing them back from the powerlines. Overall, I was very happy with the work.

EXCELLENT! THEY EVEN SAVED FOUR 18'' LOGS FOR ME TO USE AS SEATS OR FLOWER HOLDERS. GRETCHEN LET ME KNOW EXACTLY WHEN THEY WOULD COME, AND HOW THE PROCESS (INCLUDING STUMP GRINDING) WOULD WORK. THE WORKERS WERE COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL.

JOB WELL COSTED, SCHEDULED AND DONE. THEY ADJUSTED TIME FRAME TO FIT MY SPECIAL NEEDS. PRICED COMPETITIVELY TOO.

THEY CLEANED UP VERY WELL. THEIR PRICE WAS REASONABLE FOR THE SIZE OF THE TREE.

THEY CALLED ME BACK PROMPTLY, AND HAD SOMEONE OUT TO PROVIDE A QUOTE WITHIN A DAY. THEY PERFORMED THE WORK THE FOLLOWING WEEK ACCORDING TO MY SCHEDULE. THEY DID A NICE JOB OF CLEANING UP AFTER THEY WERE DONE. THE STUMPS WERE GROUND UP A DAY AFTER THE TREES WERE TRIMMED AND REMOVED. AGAIN, THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEIR WORK. VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS.

THE RESULTS WERE GREAT, EXCEEDING, MY EXPECTATIONS. DECENT EXPERIENCE. FEEL I RECEIVED VALUE FOR WHAT I PAID.

VERY RESPONSIVE ON THE PHONE TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT. CAME AND DID THE WORK WHILE I WASN'T HOME. LEFT SOME DEBRIS BEHIND. NOT GREAT AT KEEPING IN TOUCH AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE. I'M REALLY BUSY MOVING. I MIGHT HIRE THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE IF I COULD BE SURE I WAS GOING TO BE AROUND WHEN THEY WERE DOING THE WORK.

THEY CAME WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD, AND CLEANED UP NICELY WHEN THEY LEFT. THE CREW WAS PLEASANT AND EFFICIENT.

WE HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY. THE CLEAN UP LEFT SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED. AT LEAST ONE VERY LARGE LIMB (AND SEVERAL SMALLER ONES) WAS LEFT HANGING UP IN THE TREES! THEY DID COME BACK AND GET THE LARGE ONE DOWN WHEN WE CALLED TO REPORT IT. THEY MOVED SOME THINGS AROUND AND DIDN'T PUT THEM BACK WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED. ALSO, ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY PERFORMED THE WORK WAS NOT AT ALL FRIENDLY, ALTHOUGH WE HAVE MET OTHERS FROM THE COMPANY WHO WERE. THEY SEEMED TO BE IN A HURRY TO FINISH THE JOB, WHICH MAY HAVE LEAD TO THE POOR CLEAN-UP JOB.

VERY EASY TO WORK WITH. PHONE CONVERSATIONS WERE CLEAR AND FRIENDLY. ESTIMATE MADE SENSE, AND THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE. CHARTER OAKS COMPLETED THE WORK PROMPTLY AND CLEANED UP.

WE HAD TO CALL THEM BACK TO TRIM MORE. THEY TOLD US TO CALL IF WE WEREN'T SATISFIED AND THEY WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT. THEY DID A LITTLE EXTRA FOR US AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. I FELT THEIR PRICE WAS HIGH.

CONTACTED CHARTER OAKS BY EMAIL AND THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE A FEW DAYS LATER. THEY WERE THE CHEAPEST OF THE 3 COMPANIES I GOT ESTIMATES FROM. I CALLED THEM TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY WERE OUT THE NEXT DAY TO REMOVE THE TREE. THE CAME THE DAY AFTER REMOVING THE TREE TO GRIND THE STUMP. THEY DID EXCELLENT WORK. THE TREE WAS REMOVED WITHOUT ANY DAMAGE TO THE HOUSE OR OTHER TREES / PLANTS. ALL THAT WAS LEFT WAS A SMALL MULCH PILE. I WILL DEFINITELY BE USING THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

CHARTER OAKS, LIKE EVERY LANDSCAPING COMPANY I CONTACTED, WAS SLOW TO RETURN MY INITIAL CALL, THOUGH PHIL DID SO MORE PROMPTLY THAN MOST. HE COULDN'T' GIVE ME A FIRM DATE OF WHEN THEY WOULD START. I NEEDED TO REMOVE SEVERAL POUNDS OF STONE IN FRONT WHICH I DID NOT WANT TO DO UNTIL CLOSE TO THE TIME OF THE WORK TO BE DONE. WHEN HE CALLED, HE WANTED TO COME THE NEXT DAY BUT I COULDN'T GET THE STONES REMOVED BY THEN. HE COULD MAKE IT IN TWO DAYS. SO THE NEXT DAY, I PAID TWO NEIGHBORS $80 TO HELP ME REMOVE THE STONE. THEY DID COME THE NEXT DAY (AND THE NEXT) AND DID A BEAUTIFUL JOB. WITHIN TWO WEEKS A FEW SMALL PATCHES HAD DIED. I CALLED AND NO ONE RETURNED MY CALL, BUT THE REPAIR WAS MADE. AFTER ABOUT SIX WEEKS, TWO MORE AREAS HAD GONE DEAD. I HAD CALLED WITH NO REPLY. THEN I EMAILED MY DISPLEASURE AND PHIL FOLLOWED UP PROMPTLY AND COURTEOUSLY. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE SOD TO MY SATISFACTION.

THE ESTIMATE PROCESS WAS FINE. CHARTER OAKS RESPONDED PROMPTLY, LEFT THE ESTIMATE IN MY DOOR SINCE I WAS NOT HOME, AND WAS EASY TO REACH TO DISCUSS THE ESTIMATE. THEY EVEN GAVE US THE OPTION OF A PAYMENT PLAN. GRETCHEN WAS FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, AND INFORMATIVE. HOWEVER, WE GOT THREE ESTIMATES FOR THIS JOB AND CHARTER OAKS WAS THREE TIMES THE OTHER TWO BIDS. SO WE ENDED UP GOING WITH ANOTHER COMPANY.
