It was good. I was here the entire day. I checked on them occasionally. They ground up everything and removed it. All of the trees were cut at the ground level. The tree trimmed out from was done OK. I would have done more. The bushes were done satisfactorily. My one complaint was that they did not bring all of the tools they needed to do the higher bushes. I went with them because of the price. I got three or four estimates. They would do the most work for the amount of money. The owner was the one who gave the estimate.

I have used them in the past and they did an excellent job.

Phil Mallory from Charter Oak come out on 4/12 to check on our River Birch which we have been having problems with since we moved into our house almost four years ago. It had no noticeable leaf buds this spring and I wanted to know if it was salvageable or not. Based on its history and the fact that all the other River Birches in our neighborhood had catkins and emerging leaves, he felt that the tree was dead or near dead. My husband and I decided to have it removed. Phil was very friendly. He suggested that since we were not planning on replanting a tree, we should just have a flush cut because that would be less expensive. He made recommendations based on our situation and was never pushy.He said that we would be contacted in a few days. We were called the following day notifying us that they would be out on Wednesday to cut down the tree. We were told that they would be out in the afternoon. On Wednesday, Walt, Scott and Dave arrived before noon and were done in about a half-hour. The tree was very close to the house, so they did their best to keep the branches from damaging the house. The gentleman in charge of cutting the tree left a really nice flush cut. In fact, it is quite decorative and accents the tulips and juniper bush next to it. After they were done, they did a really good job of cleaning up the branches and twigs. The three gentlemen were very friendly and professional.

Our experience with Charter Oaks was excellent. They came out in Feb. to give us an estimate on the removal of our 50-year-old 80-foot tall silver maple tree. Yesterday I called to have them schedule us for the service. The young woman there told us we would be put into the scheduling system and sometime in the next 2-3 weeks they would be out. She also told us we would receive a call the day before to let us know. Last night I received a message on my voice mail that they would be out this morning. They had a 3-man crew, arrived with a lot of large equipment, and got started about 830. By 1130 the tree was down and they were working on cutting the very large pieces into smaller, more manageable pieces. Our only complaint is a small miscommunication. We had requested to keep any wood that could be used for firewood. We were unaware when the workers confirmed that we wanted anything that wouldn't fit through the chipper that their chipper can handle very, very large pieces of wood. We lost almost a cord's worth of wood before we found this out. Once it was cleared up, they were very happy to accommodate us and kept the remainder of the wood out of the chipper. They cleaned up very well once they were done. All of this on a very large tree that was less than 10 feet from our house. They did a good job in a very delicate space.

They did what we wanted to do and did it right.

Charter Oaks had performed tree pruning and landscaping services for us in the past and we were delighted with the work that they did. When it came time to do additional yard upgrades, we chose them to prune selected trees, remove dead and dying trees, remove wild brush growth areas, repair a flagstone-lined creek bed running through the property, cut in new mulch beds, and plant grass in several areas. Their crews did an outstanding job in a variety of tasks. They were hardworking and courteous.

The Charter Oaks phone person was polite and informative. The estimate was cheaper than others we had recieved. They came out one day and did the smaller trees and then came back later to do the three larger ones. I was not there to witness the work but according to my neighbors they did a very professional job. Everything looks great now that it is done. The big trees were super huge. According to one of the tree workers it weighed over three and a half tons. Charter Oaks took down these trees safely. I will definately use them again in the future. They did initially forget to dump my woodchips, but this was rectified immediately. I was very pleased with them as a company and think they did wonderful work.

They came out and I learnt a lesson in that. They came out and gave an estimate. I called back and said ?could you add this? and they said ?oh sure? and then they did not do it when they came out. Then it was one of the ?who told you that? and that kind of thing. Then I did not pay my bill because I wanted them to come out and do that, and they said they would do it. I really wanted that done, my husband has allergies etc. so it just took a while and I had to call. There is one person at their office that is very friendly and she is wonderful. Then I think I either talked to one of the owners or someone that actually does the work and that just wasn't a very pleasant experience. They were agitated and just didn't like that that got added and who did I talk to, that kind of thing. I understand, I've just kind of learnt a lesson that the day I called, will you send me a new work estimate so that we have all that documented but I did hold out, I made sure they did it and when they did it I paid my bill. I think I paid $390 or something close to that. They did do what I wanted them to do but they dropped some things on some of my plants and that really made me mad too. I had just planted some annuals and there were like pieces of tree on the annuals and that bothered me too, I thought they should have been more careful. I feel bad for the lady in the front office but I would give them C on professionalism. It took a while to work that out so I would give them a B for responsiveness. I would not use them again, I will look around.

They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. Used the neighbor's driveway to access one of the trees without any problems. Did the work promptly and when scheduled.

They did an excellent job. They cleaned up the mess that they made and carried it away. I had other estimates done for this project and their estimate was $75.00 lower than others. They were very professional and nice people.

I almost went with him, but chose another company. He gave me a good estimate.

I had a great experience with them. They did a really good job doing everything I expected them to do. They came out for a free estimate the next day after I had called. They came about 3-4 days later and removed a tree for $100. They trimmed another tree for $90. Their price was the most reasonable

It went great. They had 2 separate crews on 2 separate days perform the work. One crew to chop down and remove trees. Another to grind the the stumps. Everything went very smoothly and I was truly amazed by how quickly and efficiently they worked. They cleaned up absolutely everything.

I have been very happy with there work. They did the work in a pretty timely fashion.

The job took the entire day. They cleaned up after themselves. They removed the gigantic trees with a professional crew. When the big crane was backing out, despite their best efforts (using pads to get the truck into the yard), they ruptured my irrigation system valve. I had warned them about this in advance. The crew agreed it was their fault. It was a little upsetting, but the office called that day and assured me they would have their contractor fix it the next day. I was a little skeptical as I have my own irrigation guys I use. However, right on schedule, they sent a professional irrigation company, who neatly and quickly fixed the problem. It was a snafu, for sure, but the company's professional response to the problem and the quick fix spoke to their integrity. I got no pushback, no trying to avoid responsibility- they admitted fault, they fixed the problem right away, AND they cut down my trees. I'd use them again and I'd recommend them, too.

Excellently. This is the fourth time I have used Charter Oaks. They have yet to disappoint. I will continue to use their services.

Called for an estimate in March and Charter Oaks came out the next day. Charter Oaks was the least expensive (by over $100) of the three companies we called. I did not schedule the work until August, but they honored the original estimate - I thought for sure that I would need a new one! I was told that the work would be done sometime within the next week. The crew came to our home the very next day and completed everything but the stump grinding. That was completed on the following day. We were not home when the work was done, but were amazed at how great everything looked. The trees were trimmed and thinned and the yard was spotless. It was difficult to tell that they had even been in the yard. Very little sawdust was left and absolutely no mess! After the stump was ground, the chips were put back into the hole and there was no mess from that either. We would not hesitate to call Charter Oaks again for any kind of tree work.

Everything went very well. The only complication was that their bucket truck broke down on the original day they were supose to come but they came in about 3 days to do the job.

I thought price and work done was great, but it took quite a few phone calls to get the stumps ground after the trees were cut, and that was frustrating. Was billed before work was actually completed. Never got anyone on the first call. Always had to leave a message and wait for someone to call me back. Because of the number of phone calls and follow up to get the job complete, I would probably get a quote from someone else before trying them again, although they did ultimately do a great job.

Came quickly to give an estimate and were able to come and do the job within the next week or so. Everything was done quickly except waited a few day to come back for clean up of stump grindings. The clean up wasn't exactly how we wanted it but they were the lowest estimate (about $1000 lower than our highest) so we didn't mind when we had to finish a little of it up ourselves. The only problem now is trying to get rid of the leftover yard waste. Overall, I would use them again.

prompt, came as scheduled, cleaned up nicely. trees neatly trimmed. I have a bit of professional trimming experience, and they seemed to know exactly what they were doing.
