Provided a very specific quote as to what they would do for my trees, much more detailed than other companies I had talked to. They were timely in communicating with me, and did a great job with the work.

We have used Charter Oaks to remove 5 trees (and grind stumps) over the last 2 years. They also recently fertilized 7 trees for us. I have been extremely happy with their quality work, prices and responsiveness. On one occasion they had to come back out and do a little more work grinding a stump down so that I could level-up my yard and they did so with no problem. They will be my go-to for any type of tree services.

The trimming and thinning of the six trees was accomplished expeditiously and professionally without further input from me. The trimming debris was removed without damage to numerous plantings. Will use the service again.

Great work. Arrived at 10:20 am and they were gone by 11:30 am. Removed all debris from the downed tree. They were efficient and clean. Came back to grind the stump one week later. Great crew, great job! We will use them again!

Charter Oaks was professional at every step. They were very responsive in providing and updating a quote, they scheduled a date to perform services and then showed up and performed the services as promised. After they left, I called because I was concerned a small tree hadn’t been trimmed enough and they came back out within 3 days. Overall I am pretty demanding customer and I feel they surpassed my expectations. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

Phil is an arborist and does a great job explaining what do with all the various trees. Work was performed exactly as described. The trees look great and are hopefully healthier for the long haul.

Charter Oaks did an excellent job on all parameters. The birch tree was very large and hung over our roof and bay windows. The job was done on time for a very reasonable price. We were worried about possible damage to property, but work was done carefully. Company was very responsive to questions via email with Jessica, a secretary I presume, responding usually within a few hours. Excellent clean up. Company goes the extra mile to provide satisfaction. Would definitely hire them again.

We have a large mulberry tree that desperately needed to be trimmed. Charter Oaks did a fantastic job, showed up on-time and were complete professionals.

They arrived at the time agreed and went to work. I had forgotten one bush that needed to be trimmed and they kindly agreed to add it to the work at a small extra cost. They missed a couple of branches that were going into our neighbors property but sent the crew back as soon as that was brought to their attention. The following day we found some branches on a cherry tree infested with some type of worm nests or webs, which they missed as well, but we just went ahead and trimmed them ourselves. Other than that they were thorough.

They did a great job. It was a big job and they were prompt and efficient.

I recently had Charter oaks thin and trim my trees. They did a very good job. The day they came out, they arrived on time and reviewed all the work they would be doing. They worked in a timely manner and cleaned up everything. The workers were polite and pleasant. Charter Oaks prices were comparable and reasonable. I have had work done by Charter Oaks before and will again in the future. I have been very happy with their work.

I was very impressed with how responsive and professional Charter Oaks was. They were out to give me an estimate a day after I requested it and finished the work 2 days after I gave them the go-ahead to do the job. The website made it very easy and convenient to upload photos of the trees I needed work on and the entire process couldn't have been simpler. They were extremely communicative to make sure everything was in order and the job was done well. I will definitely use them again.

This is the 2nd time that we have used Charter Oaks. We've been pleased both times with their service. They were polite, did a good job, and cleaned up well. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

They were very competent, polite, and did an excellent job trimming our trees. They are really, really big. Clean up was great. It took them all morning but I was glad that they didn't just rush through it. It looks so much better and I don't have to worry any more about dead branches falling! I would definitely use them again. Price was also very fair.

They were half the cost of Davey tree to remove a dead elm in my back yard. They showed up on time and were very professional. Fantastic job on the cleanup afterwards as well.

It went fine. They did a good job, but I would have liked a notice the day before that they were coming instead of notice they were just coming over.

I recently called Charter Oaks to request an estimate to have DEAD trees removed and stumps ground out in my BACK yard. I was not home when they came out to do the estimate. I received a hand-written document describing the work and the cost, to which I gave a verbal go-ahead. A utility-locating service then came out and marked utility lines in the BACK yard with red flags. A few days later, I looked out the window to discover Charter Oaks was in my SIDE yard (a neighborhood tree lawn, one with no red flags) cutting down four of my LIVE, beautiful, healthy, 20-year-old maple trees in an area nowhere near the dead trees we had discussed. These trees were flanking the entrance to an entire neighborhood in New Albany and as any reputable tree service in this area knows, are not to be altered. No one ever came to my door to let me know they were at my home (at 8 a.m.) to cut down the trees, nor did I have any advance notice they were coming so I had no opportunity to meet anyone before the actual work began. When I called Charter Oaks to let them know what happened, I was told they were very sorry and would do everything they could to make things right. Following that, I spent 10 days calling, emailing, and texting them to determine next steps. I received one email from them that said they would not charge me for the work on the original contract and that they would come back and do it as planned. After that, they would not return my calls, emails, or texts, nor would they meet with me in spite of repeated requests to determine a mutually agreeable solution. When I finally did speak with them, I was told that I would need to pay for them to come out and do the work that they had previously offered to do for free. They denied having made such an offer, even though I had it in writing, and refused to repair the damage they caused. As another reviewer has said, they lacked any commitment to follow through and customer service, and behaved in a pathological manner, refusing to speak with me or take any responsibility for the situation whatsoever. Under no circumstance would I ever allow them near my property for any type of tree service again.
