The HVAC installer was on time & performed the job in a neat & orderly manner. Explained use of our new equipment after the install & showed us how to use it, change the filters, turn on the humidifier, & went over new programmable thermostat. Reasonably priced. Honest salesman.

The installers, arrived on time. Took off their shoes which I told them was not necessary. They put down a drop cloth, there was some issue which apparently was handled.

Answered all of my questions (all day long) and made sure everything worked correctly and that I knew how to operate the new computerized thermostat. I highly recommend CARE and their employees.

My heat pump stopped producing cold air July 29th 2011. I called Care Heating & Cooling Inc and the person taking my called made sure I got service quickly. The service man, a very nice polite young man, came as scheduled. After a few minutes the problem was diagnosed. A few minutes more and the problem solved. A new capacitor was needed. I chose Care after I researched angies list thoroughly. I especially liked the fixed diagnostic fee. I am glad I used their service and would recommend them. to friends and family.

They removed the old and installed the new units. They also cleaned up after they were done. Everything was done in a day and they finished the job in 7 hours. They answered all my questions. I am very happy.

It went very well - they were on time, and finished according to when they estimated. They left the house clean and worked efficiently.

Our air conditioner quit working on Saturday. We called that day and scheduled an appointment for Monday. We were the first appointment, arrival time was between 8 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Larry called at 8:30 a.m. to tell me he was running 10 - 15 minutes behind. He arrived when he said he would. I told him the problem, he checked the unit, figured out which part we needed and replaced it, all within 30 minutes. Our air conditioner was up and running!

The company responded promptly with a quote, followed up periodically with updates on the installation date, and then arrived promptly on the day of installation. The installers were very friendly and explained any options we had regarding the air conditioner placement outside very clearly. They cleaned up the basement and outside area when they were finished. We have used Care twice now for major replacements and would not use anyone else for our heating/air conditioning needs!

They give a six-month contract so if they come out it is cheaper. I will continue to use them.

Care was originally called to Inspect our air conditioner for a leak. The technician made the assessment that a pan had rusted through. He left to find a replacement part. That same day, we received a call from a sales person who advised us that a replacement part was not available for our 24 year old air conditioner. The sales person came out and gave us an estimate for a comparable replacement air conditioner. They did not try to push a new furnace on us, nor a high-end replacement air conditioner. Instead, the sales person advised us of the approximate additional cost of doing the air conditioner and furnace separately. The difference was not significant, so we decided to wait on the furnace replacement for another time. About a week later, after the July 4 holiday, technicians arrived to replace the air conditioner and coil, They arrived on-time and got the job done in a little over four hours. They did a good job with the replacement and were neat and courteous. This is our second experience with the company. In the first experience, the technician was able to secure a replacement part for our furnace and had the entire job done within a couple hours, including leaving to secure the replacement part.

Sales rep was very helpful and informative. Answered all my questions and concerns. Installers were also very professional. My only regret was that they were supposed to arrive at noon and I did not hear from them until 2PM when they called to say they would be here around 3. They arrived at 3:20PM. But that was probably worth the wait as I had received other bids that were much higher and they were insisting on doing things that I did not feel were necessary. Overall, the price was right and I felt I could trust them more than the other companies I had contacted.

I called at 8:30 and they were out in an hour. Everything was finished that same day!

When the a/c stopped working, I talked to the service tech (we had a Care service contract) who checked it out. He replaced a part and got it running again. They also came out a year or two ago and got it running by replacing a couple of parts, so I knew we were approaching the point at which it's not worth repairing. The tech did not initiate any talk about replacement, but gave me his honest opinion when asked, saying that it might be OK for a while, but the in the long-term view, the costs of repair may not be justified. At my request, they sent out a salesman to talk about new units, and it was clear he knew what he was talking about. He answered every question, and explained the pros and cons and the cost savings of replacing both the a/c and the furnace (which was working fine) at the same time. He pointed out the cost savings we would realize with the new high-efficiency furnace compared to the old one. There was no pressure - just a presentation of the facts. So I decided to replace both the furnace and the a/c. The installers came a week later, and did a superb job of removing the old units and installing the new ones. They also provided, at no additional charge, a new programmable thermostat, and explained how everything worked. Floors were covered from the front door to the basement door, so despite the rain all morning, they left the house as clean as when they arrived. I'm very pleased with Care and would recommend them to others.

Two technicians showed up on Saturday morning at the scheduled time (one first and the other a few minutes later). I showed them where the furnace was, where the A/C lines came into the house, the breaker box, and the compressor outside. The tech explained that they would begin recovering the old freon from the broken A/C and while that was happening they would begin on replacing the coil in the furnace and running the lines. He said the installation would take about four hours. They put down cloth's on the floor to protect the tile and carpet and started the job. Normally I would be "hovering" but I had another contractor there to estimate another job. When the other contractor left I went to the basement for an update. Everything seemed to be going fine. I moved to the couch which meant they passed me on their way back and forth from the basement to the patio where the outside unit is located. They worked quietly and efficiently and gave regular progress updates on their way to and from. Within 20 minutes of the estimated completion time they announced they were done. The A/C was fired up and running. They explained what they had done, what I needed to do to make sure everything was running properly. Gave me the warranty paperwork, made sure I understood I needed to register it at the Lennox website to double my warranty and asked if I had any questions. All in all a very good experience.

I contacted Care Heating & Cooling for a service call because the insulation inside my furnace was destroyed by a plugged condensation pipe. I was informed by Mike Wiens that they are not interested in helping me unless I wanted to purchase a new system & have it installed. I explained that I just needed the insulation replaced because we already unplugged the condensation pipe & we do not need a new system, but we were willing to pay for a full annual service since it has been a long time since we had the Heating & Cooling system serviced. Mr. Wiens told me to throw away the insulation & if we were insistent on Care Heating & Cooling doing a service call they would not charge us the normal service fee, but a much higher rate. Mr. Wiens said Care Heating & Cooling would charge us the going rate for removing & installing a new heating & cooling system starting at no less than $500.00 although our job is a very small one (the job will only take about 5 minutes to complete). I asked if he would be willing to sell us the supplies needed, but he said they don't stock it. I then requested a list of suppliers who might sell me the insulation I needed since the home supply stores are not permitted to order or stock this product. Mr. Wiens informed me that I should utilize the google search engine. Since Care Heating & Cooling were unwilling to help with a simple small service I will not contact them in the future for any other services or when we need to replace our current system.

We enlisted the services of Care Heating and Cooling to replace our old gas furnace and heat pump with a new gas furnace and electric air conditioner. They arrived when specified and, although they encountered several problems they hadn't anticipated because of our quirky house, both units were installed in the time they specified. The air conditioning unit needed special wiring that the old heat pump didn't have so we contacted an electrician to do so. Since both were originally installed in March and we didn't need the air conditioner until summer, we took our time finding an electrician. When the new air conditioning unit was finally online, about 6 weeks after it had been originally installed,, the electrician said he thought it sounded funny. We contacted Care and they sent a technician out the next day - we discovered the odd sound at about 5 pm on a Friday and the Care technician, Mike Weems himself, came out to inspect the unit on Saturday. After listening to the unit, he ordered one of his workers to check out the unit the following Monday and it was discovered that the unit needed to be replaced, which Care accomplished the next day. We are extremely satisfied with both the products and service provided by Care Heating and Cooling and would recommend them to anyone. Bob Horr
