If you are familiar with any of our advertising you know that these words are at the end of each and every one of our ads. But these eight words are more than just a slogan at CARE Heating and Cooling. They are our motto and the basis of our business philosophy, and the way we want to be remembered by you at the end of the day. From the beginning I wanted CARE be a different kind of company. After spending many years working for other heating and cooling companies, I became alarmed by the trends I was seeing in the residential heating and cooling industry. “Increase sales”, “raise your prices” and “make every employee a sales person” became the operating statements of many companies, leading to the biggest fraud of all: paying service technicians to sell replacement furnaces and air conditioners. In the 1980s a major manufacturer began to promote to its dealers a unique sales technique – have service technicians sell replacements. The rationale was that a service technician had the inherent trust of the consumer. If a repair was needed a service technician had ability to take advantage of that trust and offer to install a replacement system. This provided an immediate solution to an immediate problem that would lock out any competition, result in a much higher than normal selling price and much higher profits. Because companies make more money, a lot more in fact, selling you a new system rather than fixing the one you own this approach was widely adopted over the next couple of decades. To generate even more sales and profits many companies today apply a lot of pressure to service technicians to sell even more. Several local companies’ guidelines state specifically that a consumer is to be advised to replace their furnace if a repair, even a minor one, is needed whenever a furnace or air conditioner is over 10 years old. They set goals for their service technicians to turn at least 1 in 10 service calls into sales leads and pay them a commission when a unit is sold. Service technicians can also get caught up in the quest for more money, with some diagnosing problems that may not actually exist just to earn a commission. This is how “cat toys in furnaces” and “chipmunks with attitudes and power drills” became major problems. So what makes CARE Heating and Cooling different? It is my philosophy that we are in business not only to get new customers, but more importantly to keep them. Never will anyone in the service department profit by recommending to a consumer to replace their furnace or air conditioner. Not only do we offer free second opinions for a diagnosis of a bad compressor or heat exchanger, we will often second opinion ourselves when condemning equipment to be sure we have not made a mistake. If a mistake is made, it will be an honest one and we will stand behind everything we do. Lastly, you can trust us to offer you the lowest possible price on all services and installations we do. Christie arrived at our agreed upon time to survey the job to replace our heating and cooling system. She answered all of our many questions, completed her survey and wrote up a quote. The quote was very straightforward and easy to understand. The rebates and credits offered were noted but were not part the bottom line price, as they were with the other companies we got quotes from and the price was lower than that of the others. We accepted the proposal and established an installation date. In addition, Christie also arranged to have our hot water heater replaced. Christie made this a great customer experience. On installation day, Ed, Angelo and Todd arrived at the agreed upon time, put on shoe booties, and put down a heavy covering over our floors from the door to the basement. They went about their work removing the old equipment, and then bringing in the new, all with care. We are very particular and feel their installation methods were excellent. All of the equipment, inside and out, and associated pipe, tubing and wiring was installed and dressed very professionally. They answered all our questions during installation. When they had to step off the floor covering they put down, such as to install the new thermostat, they put on shoe booties. All during the installation of the furnace, air cleaner, humidifier, air conditioner, thermostat and water heater they treated our home like it was their own. They made this a great customer experience. We really like the Lennox equipment and the Bradford White water heater installed in our home from cosmetics to operation. We are looking forward to using the new air conditioner in the summer. All this equipment should give us many years of reliable service. My wife and I are very pleased with our experience with CARE Heating and Cooling Inc. The employees we had experience with, truly live up to their company?s motto "When you need a company you can trust". We highly recommend Care Heating and Cooling.

I looked at the reviews of several HVAC service companies on Angie's List and chose CARE. I should have taken that action in the first place but the first company had installed the furnace in our house and always serviced it. It is 5 years old and we never had a problem before. We are very satisfied with whole experience, from the person handling my call to the promptness of the service tech. Brian knew what to check and did not take any short cuts.
Description of Work: Brian the Service Tech ran several diagnostic tests on our furnace and determined what the problem was and took corrective action. I called CARE after another company could not figure out what was wrong and wanted to replace our thermostat.

We had another company out for standard maintenance on our 18 year old furnace. That company told us we had cracked heat exchangers in the furnace which could leak carbon monoxide. We could replace the part for $1000 or reinvest that money into a new furnace. The technician turned off our gas line to the furnace on a day when it was 30 degrees outside. The cost estimates for replacement of the furnace and AC unit was $10 - 12,000 with that company. I called CARE to schedule a second opinion inspection of the furnace - which ended up being free. The company had a technician out to the home within 2 hours. He inspected the furnace with a video camera and found no cracks in the heat exchangers. He also ran a carbon monoxide test to make sure there was not an issue. He thought we might be able to get another 5 years out of our furnace if we kept up with standard maintenance. I will be using CARE in the future for our furnace and AC needs.

They came out and installed the whole house humidifier on the furnace. They were professional and prompt while letting us know how long they thought they were going to be at the house. It took a few hours to install. The original cost was $819 but we "upped" our service contract to the "premium" plan for this year to get the 20% discount as opposed to the 10% discount that our current plan provided. Their representative went over the controls and explained how to operate the unit and replace the filter. The final cost was $655.20. He also suggested some helpful hints to help the air circulate better throughout the house. The house feels a little more comfortable this winter. Though it still doesn't feel as humid as we thought it might, a hygrometer we have shows the humidity level is at the upper end of the "Comfort Zone." We've used CARE for our furnace/AC service contract needs for a few years now and we will continue to use them.

Needed to find new HVAC service company due to service underperformance by company that originally installed it. Chose Care Heating & Cooling after reviewing all the top rated companies on Angie's List. Service rep Andy arrived exactly on schedule and completed all work in about an hour and a half. Very thorough not only in his work, but also in clearly explaining what needed to be done and why, in layman's terms. If Andy is representative of all the technicians at Care, this company has nothing to worry about insofar as earning new customers and retaining existing ones. This is obviously a very ethical and professional business whose pricing is very fair, and once again thanks to Angie's List reviewers I have found yet another top-rated service company that I can rely on for our future needs.

The sales rep was exactly on time. Not only did she provide an estimate for all of the work that I needed done, but she also provided insight into additional factors that we should take into consideration. The info was very good to know and not something that other vendors offered up while completing their estimates. I did not end up using CARE only because we needed the work done sooner than they were able to schedule someone at the job site. I will however use them in the future as the sales rep did such a fantastic job AND was very professional.

We obtained many quotes from competing companies to get a good idea of products and pricing...and of course, service. After considering all factors, we decided to go with CARE. Kristie was our sales person and very thorough with her initial visit and then subsequent calls and questions. We felt that CARE pricing was amazing compared to other companies. The installation went well and the installers were great. They knew what they were doing and had many years of experience installing the equipment. After everything was installed, they took the time to explain all of the equipment and answer all questions...even though they had been at the house all day and it was late, we weren't rushed and felt that all of our questions and concerns were answered. We had a great experience with CARE and will definitely be using them in the future.

I obtained two quotes for replacement of my heating and air conditioning system. System was aging and requiring more repair. Rebates from federal government ($500 tax credit), AEP, Lmanufacturer, and Columbia Gas would reduce the price by roughly $1450. Along with the energy savings from increased efficiency, seemed like the right time to do it. My sister was also replacing her system (house approximately same size) and had obtained 3 or 4 quotes from area companies. Of course, we discussed the price ranges and from her list of respondees I selected for quotes CARE and the company I've used to service my existing system for the past 10 years. CARE had the best quote among all respondees. Sister had excellent service from CARE in installign her new system. My sales representative at CARE Christie Marker provided the estimate during our intitial meeting. She was very professional in providing information on alternatives and then once the sale was complete in providing the paperwork needed for all rebates and the tax credit. The installation team arrived on time on the scheduled date for installation. They (Ed and ?) were a delight. All carpeted areas in my finished basement were protected and the utility room was free of debris post installation. on the outside the AC was installed with no real environmental damage. Instructions on operating the thermostat were detailed. The replacement system is high efficiency by Lennox. Very quiet heating. Installer advised running fan continuously. We cannot hear it running. Heat seems more evenly distributed. Of course, temps have been moderate. Cannot really speak to the operating of the AC system since temps have been cooler and no reason to run it.

The service tech called ahead, was on time and worked for about 1.5 hours since we had 2 furnaces and 2 A/C units. Thorough checks of all working parts by testing the units and visual inspection. He reported that there were no problems and did not see anything that would be a problem in the immediate future. I completely trust this company and it is true that they are out to help you maintain your HVAC unit not sell you a new one!! Care is certainly a company you can recommend!

Two days and $318. later, our heater is working again. My issues are not with the friendly tech but with the company and its policies. 1- A $70 pressure switch had to be replaced and we were billed a $48.75 DELIVERY CHARGE by CARE Inc. for them to obtain the small part locally which weighs under a pound. When did you ever pay a local mechanic to get same day parts from a supplier to fix your car? 2- NO INVOICE is provided when you pay. The tech has to tediously type out your bill on the small screen of a tablet computer. Then the customer is asked to electronically sign a blank screen for who-knows-what exactly. Then you write your check for the amount you are told. Later, an invoice is emailed to you. Seems these guys should at least have a printer on the truck. 3-At this writing, nowhere on the website or on the invoice is any mention of a guarantee on the service or parts given. ( I called and was told it?s just 30 days but without having anything in writing, how much is that worth?)

We are sorry to learn that the member feels this way about our service. With some explanation though, these issues actually highlight some of the ways that CARE separates ourselves from the competition. We will address each of the members concerns: 1. At our initial appointment, our service technician diagnosed a faulty pressure switch in the member's furnace. Our service vehicles are stocked with an inventory of parts, including as many universal parts possible, so most issues can be fixed in one appointment. However, it is impossible to stock every part that could be needed to make a repair. In this case, the universal pressure switch on our technician's truck was not compatible with the member's furnace and an OEM part was required. When a non-stock part is required for a repair, a significant amount of labor is required to obtain it regardless of its size or weight. Our office staff must find a vendor with the part in stock, place an order for the part, and enter the purchase into our computer software. Then, an employee must drive to our supplier to procure the part and deliver it to our technician. Rather building these costs into our pricing for all repairs, we charge a non-stock delivery fee when this situation arises. We find this is the most fair way to do business as we charge for the actual costs incurred on each service call. 2. The member seems to imply that they were informed of the total charges incurred during our service call only after signing for our invoice. This is not the case. After diagnosing the faulty pressure switch in the member's furnace, our technician quoted the complete cost of the repair and received verbal authorization from the member to proceed. This is standard company procedure for all service calls. Prior to signing for the invoice, a summary of the charges is available for the customer to review on the technician's tablet. Once the service call is complete, CARE provides a digital invoice that is emailed to the customer. To our knowledge, CARE is one of the few companies in central Ohio that uses electronic invoicing rather than two-part paper invoices. For customers without a computer or those who prefer a paper invoice, our office staff will mail a copy of the invoice to the clients home. 3. Our standard parts and labor warranty on service work is thirty days and with a CARE Plan, the warranty is extended to one year. Information about our warranty is included along with the invoice that is emailed to the member via a link to our website in the body of the message. Should this member have any issues with the repairs made to their furnace, CARE will respond to any service request immediately.

Everything went well, Nathan called ahead as I was advised he would and arrived well within the time frame promised. The furnace checked out fine, as I expected it would, it's only two years old and was also installed by Care. Nathan took his time and answered any of my questions, he actually welcomed them! In addition, the lady who spoke with me on the phone and set up this service appointment, was helpful, friendly and easy to work with.

Care provided excellent service all around. The sales people were on time, friendly, helpful and no pressure. They gave me several options base on the size and layout of the house as well as available rebates for different levels of equipment. The 3 person installation team arrived on time and immediately got to work. They were clean and friendly and made it clear that they would not leave the house until the job was done. Despite running into a couple of issues and having a relatively difficult installation, they were still wrapped up and out of the house by about 4pm. I highly recommend Care for price and service.

We bought a service plan from CARE Heating and Cooling Inc so they don't charge for service calls, it's half price for any parts, and they come in fall to service the furnace and come in the spring to furnace the air conditioner. They had taken Freon out of the air conditioner because the pressure was too high but it appears they took too much because it froze up so they came back to put Freon in it. I think CARE Heating and Cooling Inc are pretty good. They came out on a Saturday and because we have a service plan we go to the top of the list for appointments.

We have known for some time now that we were going to be needing a new furnace and a/c unit. While we have routinely maintained the furnace and a/c we had, it was 25 years old so we knew the time was coming to replace it all. It was a lot of work but we talked to 4 of the "TOP" Furnace/a/c companies on Angie's List. We got all kinds of 'stories,' attempts-to-oversell, and prices ranging from $9,000 to $5,475. In the end CARE Heating and Cooling, Inc. was the BEST OVERALL. Not only were they the BEST price but, perhaps even more important, they provided the BEST EDUCATION! Mark Baker was Phenomenal. He was extremely knowledgeable, quick to respond to our inquiries, and patient with our many questions. (We chose this company over the company who had been maintaining our equipment for years---that's HOW GOOD they were!) Also, the Installation was fantastic! The installation date was one that was convenient for us and the installers were on-time, friendly, professional, and efficient. I was a little nervous when I heard they had to drill a new hole through my siding for venting but they assured me it would be done very professionally---it totally was. It was a lot of work and cost to research and purchase a new furnace and a/c system. However, it is time well spent. There is much information out there and you need to 'sift' through all of it to determine what works best for you and your particular needs. We are so glad we talked to CARE---they REALLY DO CARE about giving you the BEST!

They had to do some minor modification to the duct work so the new furnace would work correctly. The AC unit has been working well since it was installed. The cost was slightly lower than other estimates I got. My old AC unit died completely and needed to be replaced. The same day that I agreed to the contract with them to replace my AC unit they sent someone out to put refrigerant in our old AC unit so the house would be comfortable while we waited for installation of the new one.
