My furnace couldn't handle the latest arctic blast and shut off when it was most needed. Glad I called Care Heating & Cooling and very glad they sent Tim. With a high of only 18 degrees on that Saturday and extreme cold projected into the beginning of the next week, we needed a working furnace ASAP. Tim did not have a motor for my 20-year old furnace on his truck but made sure to locate one before businesses shut down for the day (weekend hours for parts vendors) and came back to install it the same afternoon. I really appreciated that extra degree of care?and also, that he explained everything so well! Trust is critical on repairs of this nature, and Tim provided all the relevant information so that I could make a good, timely decision. We had heat again by 4PM, and I've marked my calendar to schedule service with Care (will ask for Tim!) in both the spring and fall. We got off pretty easy this time with a quick and reasonably priced repair (saved a little with an Angie's List diagnostic service coupon). Nobody wants to spend money on a furnace repair, but I felt fortunate it wasn't more expensive and that our heat was restored so quickly.

They did inspect thoroughly than I thought. The fact that it was a no cost was actually a plus. They're pretty ethical. I was dealing with them for about four years total.

Great salesman (Wade). He also showed up to monitor, install. Three person install crew worked efficiently. Furnace a bit nosier than expected.

Excellent. The furnace was not putting out any heat, and come to find out it was just a burned out wire, so I got off pretty lucky financially. That was all that needed done. Scheduling was no problem what-so-ever. The man was very clean, all of his work clothes were just spotless. He came in and put booties on. He called when he was about ten minutes away to let me know that he was going to be here, he was on time. He was here a very short time, he did the job and everything went well. I have no complaints. I hope I don't need them again, but if I do, I'll call them.

It turned out fine. The tech came on time and put booties on. He ended up offering a preventative cleaning of the heating system, and he did that for an additional amount. He was at the home for 45 minutes to an hour. He also suggested replacing a part, which we haven't done it yet. Our system is working fine now.

It went really good. They didn't leave a mess.

It went well, they did a good job. The $250 price tag for a $50 part is never easy to swallow. But I would recommend them for their professionalism.

We're pleased with them. I think it's $180 for a year. They come out twice a year to service and then if we do have a problem, we go to the top of the list for repairs and we get 20% off of any parts that have to be purchased. It's definitely worth it. They're honest. When they serviced our air conditioner, there was a little kink in the hose and they said it would be about $1000 worth of repair but because of the age of the unit, they figured that just a couple more years, we probably would have to replace it so they didn't recommend spending $1000. They said as long as it's working, they don't recommend making a repair. They found little things that could be fixed on our furnace but because of the age of it, they just let it go because eventually we're going to have to replace the whole thing and they didn't recommend expensive repairs. They're very, very honest people. Even when we used them to put a new system in our old house, their prices are definitely good.

I had 3 different companies out for the estimate and I believe the other company is called CARE Heating & Cooling. They came out, I had told them that I was looking for an estimate for a new air conditioner, they told me that it didn't need to be replaced and it only needed to be repaired. They told me that the maintenance plan was all I needed. I had an appointment and then the maintenance guy came out and then he told me that I had to replace the unit. I had a little bit of a run around there.

I would recommend them. They are pretty good. They have different packages. They have $180 for the highest and $99 for the lowest. They know what they are talking about, they are honest, they come when they say they are going to come, and they are always on time. We don't have to call them, they call us. Relative to other people's cost, they are a good value. They are very responsive.

I ended up not using the coupon and signing up for the maintenance package that includes a spring tune up for my A/C.

They replaced the air conditioner. They also came out for my heating as well. They do all my servicing and the office staff is great. My air conditioning is working beautifully.

In general my experience was good. The salesperson was thorough and responsive to my questions. Care's price was not the lowest quoted, but it was competitive for equipment that was better quality than the other providers. The furnace and AC installation was done well and the installers cleaned up very well before they left. My installation was complicated because I was converting from an all electric house that used a heat pump to a gas furnace with an air conditioner. All the problems I encountered revolved around the new gas line that Care installed in my home. The first problem was minor, the installer from Care failed to install a shut off valve on one of the stubs specified on the line. As a result, the gas company refused to install a gas meter. Care did respond quickly and rectified this problem the same day. I still had to reschedule the the meter installation, which was an inconvenience for me. A larger problem encountered was when the city inspector came to approve the installation. There were three problems with the inspection. The biggest problem was that Care failed to get a permit from the city of Columbus for the gas line installation. I understand that the city has recently made some changes with their permitting process, but my neighbor, who had converted to a gas furnace a year previous, told me that his installation required a permit for the furnace and one for the gas line. It is a mystery me to me how Care was unaware of this requirement. It is their responsibility to know exactly what the permitting and approval requirements are. The second problem was that the inspection required an onsite pressure test of the gas line before it could be approved. Apparently, Care was unaware of this requirement, also. Care did respond quickly and fast track a permit and hired an outside plumbing company to conduct the pressure test. Finally, Care failed to weatherize the portion of the gas line that was on the outside of the house. This is a small job consisting of painting the exposed pipe. I had asked Care about this a couple of times and Care told me that this would be done after the gas line had passed inspection. The inspector, however, told me that he would fail the installation again, if the pipe was not weatherized. Fortunately, the plumber that Care had hired to do the pressure test, had the paint with him and completed this job. In Care's defense, they were responsive to these failures and all these problems were eventually resolved to my satisfaction. It did cost me time away from work to be home for the various inspections. One of the main reasons I chose Care was their reputation as a high quality service provider. The problems with the permitting and approval of the gas line installation revealed a certain lack of competence which has made me less confident of their ability to be a good service provider.

Started out great. Called on a Sunday and expected to get voicemail. Got an answering service (real person). Very good. Left a message with the service and got a call back from Care about an hour later (on Sunday). Impressive. Scheduled a service call for the next day. Excellent responsiveness. Tech came on time. My wife was there and put me on the phone with the tech. Tech said the system came up and was running just fine. I explained the history. He said he would do a thorough inspection of the furnace. He later called and said the heat exchanger was bad (cracks), which means the furnace needed to be replaced. Said the heater would run but we needed to replace it ASAP so we didn't run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Only charged me $69 for the visit. I was quite impressed. I got home that night and the furnace was dead. No lights. No startup attempt. Dead. For 18 years, the system always at least attempted to start up. Something had changed. I assumed the tech either disabled it intentionally for safety reasons, or shorted something out on the control board on accident. The Care sales person came out the Thursday after the initial tech visit. She looked at the system and had three new options for us the next day, ranging in price from about $8-$10.5k. I asked to talk to the tech that worked on our unit. I have since asked twice more. I have yet to get a call from him. The temps were close to 0 with the wind chill yesterday and we have no furnace. I'm not happy about this. Second issue - I called another company to get a second opinion. The tech from the other company arrived and I told him Care said the heat exchanger was bad. He said "it's under warranty." I said it can't be. The furnace is 18 years old. He said any furnace worth having has at least a 20 year warranty on the heat exchanger. I am surprised Care never asked about that. I called Care in the first place because of the way they position themselves via their advertising -- "our techs are paid to fix furnaces, not sell new ones." The other company contacted the manufacturer of my furnace and ordered the heat exchanger. They will be replacing it at a cost of less than 10% of what a new furnace would have cost.

They were here when they said they'd be, they did a very thorough job, and the price was fair.

The first guy they sent was horrible. He was young and he couldn't stand to work in our house because of the liter boxes from the cats. The owner took care of it and he was really good at suggesting things to put on the furnace to help. Their prices were very competitive.
