Forrest is the BEST. I am so happy that I found him. I spoke with a few inspectors and the following points sold me:1. His credentials are impeccable - he teaches home inspection, president of Ohio chapter of National Association of Home Inspectors, Board of Trustees member for NAHI, etc. These things tell me he is not just doing this in his spare time; he is a very dedicated inspector. 2. When I called him to ask if he could do a Saturday inspection, he said "I am in a customer service business. I do the inspections when they are convenient for you." Really, when have you heard that before? The other inspectors I called were all about the M-F, 9-5, which is great for those of us that are buying a house and do not have a job. Post-inspection, I am even happier with him. He took his time going top to bottom on the house. He did not just provide a report after the fact; he would point out items as we went through the house, explain what the problem is, talk about possible remediation of the problem, and answer ALL questions that we had. Trust me, we had lots of questions and he took the time to answer each one AND took the time to make sure we understood his answer. Even though our home inspection occurred during a very busy time for By-Lions, Forrest had the report to us the next evening in electronic format with digital pictures included. For the sake of brevity, I won't go into detail of each thing that makes By-Lions your best inspector option. Just know that you will be very happy with your service.

The inspection was thorough, & I would recommend By-Lions. Forrest arrived early & was in the home already checking things when I arrived. Prior to the inspection, Forrest encouraged me to be there to participate in the inspection process. The report revealed everything that that was identified during the inspection, along w/ photos accurately depicting the issues. Forrest was obliging, & more than willing to field questions.

We are not moving but live in an older home so we wanted to see what we didn't see in terms of work that needed to be done. Forrest Lines does EXCELLENT word...you won't be disappointed...

Forest was very professional and gave us some good things to have checked out with our home before buying or fixing after we purchased. He was knowledgeable and welcomed questions I had along the way. Based on the reviews I had read, I was expecting maybe a little more thoroughness in the home inspection, but all-in-all he did a very good job. The report was maybe a little lacking in detail, but the pictures he took along the way helped a lot. I would recommend Forest to others as I know he'll at least do a solid job. My main reason for giving a B is because of the value. By-Lions was a little more expensive, so my expectations were higher and I just don't believe those higher expectations were met. A solid job, just not anything above that in my opinion.

We had scheduled a home inspection, but forgot to schedule a radon detection test. We called Forest the morning of our home inspection and asked if he could come out later that day to due the test- and he could! He arrived when he set he would, set up his equipment, picked it up 3 days later and got us a report later that day. We really appreciate his responsiveness to our situation!

Forest was great to work with and very informative through this process. He was always on time, actually early, very patient, informative and provided a lot of education about the home we were purchasing. He also provided an extensive report with a lot of general education about home maintenance. He knows his business and does it very well. We will be recommending his services to all we know.

Mr. Lines was very punctual, infact he was there ahead of the time. I felt he was very thorough and knew what he was talking about. He went above what I thought a home inspection would be, showing how to work appliance and showed in detail what needed to be corrected. Very well please with the whole experience.

It went very well. We had to reschedule the home inspection a few times, but Forrest was always very accommodation and prompt in his response. He was always courteous, helpful and quick to reply to e-mails. I recommend him without reservation. His price was easily the best deal of the four estimated I got.

Being first time home buyers finding a home inspector was pretty intimidating. From the minute I talked to Forrest I felt completely comfortable having him inspect our home. He spent a good 20 plus minutes on the phone with me explaining in detail what he would be doing during the inspection. He answered all of my questions and went above and beyond to make sure I knew what was going to happen. He arrived early and greeted us by name. We were able to follow him around throughout the whole inspection, and ask as many questions as we liked. There were only minor fixes that need to be done but Forrest went over everything and made sure we understood what needed to be fixed and how we should fix them. He showed us all of the main shut off valves in the house as well. Both my husband and I learned so much about the house we purchased and Forrest made us feel confident that we were buying a good home. I would highly recommend Forrest to anyone looking for a home inspector. Everything was very professional from start to finish. Being able to review the report on line with pictures also was a bonus. If we ever move again we will definitely call Forrest again!

Forrest Lines was immediately available to answer my call requesting a pre-home purchase inspection and radon test. After a brief call during which we discussed what I needed and was looking for, he proceeded to make plans. He arranged with the sellers to place the radon detection system the very next day and then conducted a thorough inspection on the second day after our call. That took about 4 hours for the 5000+sq ft space, and I was able to join him for the final 1.5 hours, during which he walked me through the house and answered all questions to my satisfaction. The home was in very good shape, so there were only minor items found, but all were documented. I had a written report available via email/online within 24 hours of the conclusion of the inspection; same for the radon inspection report. I did have one question that occurred to me after our face-to-face meeting and walk-through at the home, and Forrest was quick with a response via email to address my question. Overall, I'm most pleased with his professional and clearly knowledgeable approach to the work, and was able to use his findings to have the sellers remedy the few items found.

The process began with Forrest visiting the home and conducting his inspection. I met him at the house after he was finished with the inspection. He reviewed all his findings, detailing everything good and bad about the house, and then took me around the house and showed me specific areas of concern. He took a lot of time, and explained all his findings, and offered suggestions on what to negotiate about and what I could just just fix myself. He was incredibly helpful and gave me useful information about the house, the mechanicals and what to be watching out for in the near future. The report he provided was detailed and included pages of pictures and notes about problems with the house. Forrest did not miss anything! From the most minor of problems to major issues, he covered them all. I have never had such a detailed and thorough home inspection. After the inspection, I offered a copy of the entire report to the sellers, so they could see the issues and be more aware of what we were asking them to repair. The sellers contacted Forrest to inquire about a few items, and Forrest took considerable time to explain to the sellers what the issues were. In fact, at the closing the sellers remarked on how helpful Forrest had been, and how they wished they had known about him earlier for the inspection of their new house! They were really appreciative of the time Forrest took to teach them things they didn't know about home maintenance. We have had possession of the house for about a month, and have yet to find a single problem with the house that Forrest didn't find first! Everything he reported is right! This is the third time we have used By-Lions Home Inspection, and we continue to be overwhelmed by the level of service the company offers. In one case, Forrest provided a written statement to the home warranty company to report on the condition of a refrigerator that later broke. The home warranty company was refusing to honor the warranty, stating that the refrigerator was broken at the time of the sale. Forrest's testimony convinced the home warranty company to pay the claim! We will use By-Lions for all future real estate purchases. The service is remarkable, and the price is very low. We have never had such a positive experience with a home inspection company. We continue to be amazed by the service! W e can recommend this company without reservation. They are wonderful!

We are purchasing the home and sought an experienced home inspector to tell us the condition of the home. Forrest was right on time and spent close to three hours inspecting the home and explaining the condition of the home to us in detail. I chose By-Lions because I wanted to have someone who could not only observe the condition and provide a report, but had the experience necessary to discuss the findings, repair options, timing (now or later) and possible repair cost for just about every potential trouble spot in the home. We had an excellent experience and would recommend By Lions to our friends and family.

Forrest and his partner Joe were wonderful! They spent several hours at the homes, and did a very thorough inspection, finding things I would never have expected. They really went beyond my expectations, and were great about answering questions and explaining the details of the report and what they found. Forrest was a great resource for us later, helping us with questions about home maintenance and ideas for some remodeling we were considering. A few months after we bought the house, the refrigerator died and Forrest was really helpful in our fight with the home warranty company to get us a new frig. I would never use any other company. They are the best! They have integrity and great knowledge. They are highly credentialed and well-known in their field.

Forrest was very knowledgeable about the Radon test. The test results were a huge concern of ours, and it did come back high. The test and findings we received helped us get the owner to pay for the radon mitigation needed. Now the radon level is way below the desired 4 rating.

Forrest and Joe were early for appointment and had already started inspection when my husband and I arrived. Immediately Joe took us around the exterior of the home to report findings. Report was thorough and he answered all questions. Then Forrest did a complete review of the interior. When I had follow-up questions to the report, my calls were answered promptly.

Both Joe and Forrest were at the house to do the inspection. The house was bank owned and after our first initial look, we needed someone to come in and give us a reality check on what type of TLC this fixer up really entailed. They were very prompt in both returning my initial call to inquire about service, and early for the house inspection. They also encouraged me to stay while they did the inspection and explained their findings and answered all my questions with the utmost professionalism. Their experience coupled with my questions turned out to be very informative and they helped me immensely in figuring out costs for some of the larger projects that the house would need.

Joe and Forrest were early and already starting when we arrived. Both were very personable and friendly and were very good about making sure that they told one of us about everything they were looking at, and when they found issues (and even when they found where the home-sellers had done a good job on home improvements). They were great about not only telling us what was an issue, but also things about the house in general. The final report was extremely thorough, and was available for me to print off the Internet the night of the inspection! It even included pictures that they took of areas that needed dealt with, to make it easier to share with those that we brought in for repairs.
