Description of Work: Very disappointed in his lack of follow through. He came to our home,spent ~2 hours discussing the job and left. He led us to believe he could and would do the job. After several weeks, I called to ask when he would start the process, he told me he had other jobs in the meantime and would not be able to do my job until 2 more months. I told him to forget it.

Description of Work: Derek built a custom TV mount above our fireplace. We needed it to match the existing woodwork and mantle which he did perfectly. We were very impressed with Derek's professionalism and skill as well as his customer service. We will definitely use his services again in the future.

Description of Work: Mr. Brainard did a great job of repairing a rotting jam on the front door. He had to cut out a good deal of the jam and replace with new wood. It was very precise work, he was able to maintain the doors security and its ability to withstand the weather. Other repair people were recommending a complete door system replacement which would have cost over $2000.

Description of Work: Had Derrick make us a beautiful Cedar storage box to sit next to our fireplace and a Cherry mantel shelf/trim for hearth. He was helpful and kind. Finished work was well built and very attractive. We would use Derrick again in the future.

+ 0 moreBeautiful gates. It looks like it came with the home in 1939 when my home was built. The work was outstanding. Absolutely gorgeous. These gates were for a formal living room. Derek was such a nice person. He was here for 5 hours installing them. I use them again. Highly recommend him for his craftsmanship.

He internalized this and asked questions as he progressed through the work. He provided suggestions and was flexible with making adjustments.
Description of Work: Derek installed window sills for seven windows and created a built-in wine cabinet. He primed all woodwork.

AT THE TIME HE ARRIVED, WE ADDED SOME WORK TO THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL AND HE STILL GOT IT DONE IN OUR TIME FRAME. HE IS EASY TO WORK WITH, AND WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM AND WILL USE HIM AGAIN.
Description of Work: DEREK INSTALLED SOME PRE-ASSEMBLED RACKING INTO ONE OF OUR ROOMS. I WOULD DESCRIBE THE WORK AS A SMALL PROJECT, BUT SOMEWHAT COMPLICATED SINCE THE RACKING HAD TO BE VERY SECURE AND COMPLETELY LEVEL ON A FLOOR THAT WASN'T LEVEL.

IN FACT, I WONDER IF OUR PAYMENTS TO HIM COVERED MUCH MORE THAN HIS MATERIAL COSTS.
