AK Irrigation

Other contractors removed and replaced the tree and shrubbery in the two garden beds at the front of our home. In the process of removing the old shrubs, the soaker hose irrigation system in that "zone" was destroyed. Called AK Irrigation for recommendations for replacement and estimate. They responded promptly and provided recommendations - replace the soaker hose system as before or install sprinklers. They described the pros and cons. I chose the new sprinklers. They installed new tubing to connect to my existing irrigation system (10 new sprinklers) carefully avoiding disturbing new plantings. They tested the new installation thoroughly to ensure that it worked with my existing system and controller as well as adequately covering the entire bed and new plantings. They cleaned up completely.

Everything went fine. They knocked, let me know they were here, and did what they needed to do. I just provided the form I was sent by the city, and they handled the filing of all the paperwork. It really couldn't have been much easier. When I've used them for the irrigation system itself, they've informed me of any recommendations, and answered my questions about the correct settings. This is a no-frills business but they've always done exactly what they've said, and I've never had any problems. I'm comfortable using them for the foreseeable future for these same services.

Ak Irrigation came out to open the irrigation system and discovered broken heads and that we had a leak. They returned within a day or so to fix the broken items and to add a sprinkler head to the system. Everything went smoothly.

It went well. The service was excellent and they called me to schedule an appointment. They gave me some recommendations, but I did not do them at this point in time. I've been using them for the past two or three years.

We had purchased a house with a irrigation system that we didn't know how to use and weren't sure it would work. AK irrigation came and turned the system on as well as replaced 2 of the sprinkler heads that were cracked. They were able to replace the sprinklers that day and showed me how to operate the system before they left. Very helpful and very informative. Will definitely use them again.

I purchased the irrigation tune up deal through Angie's List for $66. Steve contacted me quickly and set up the appointment. Chad arrived on time and tested the system. He did spend a good deal of time showing me how to operate the system and gave me some information on the cost of replacing the back-flow preventer that had gone bad and of moving some of the sprinkler heads. One sprinkler head replacement was included, which Chad did. Chad also found that one of the valve solenoids had gone bad and replaced that. He broke two heads in the process of trying to adjust them. I was charged for the replacement of the two heads he broke. Additional cost of the visit (after paying the $66) was approx. $176. I replaced the back flow preventer and began using the irrigation system. After a week I noticed that the sump pump in the house was running constantly. I looked at the water meter and saw that the meter was running even when the system was turned off. I contacted AK to tell them that I believed I had a main line leak that they did not find during the tune up. Steve was quick to respond and got someone out to the house quickly. The second tech (I can't remember his name) found the leak quickly. The main line was leaking in a valve box that Chad did not locate for me on the first visit. He quoted approx. $200 for the repair. I wanted to think about that as it is late in the season. I was surprised when the tech wrote up a bill for $59. I believe that the leak could have been found during the previous visit. I was able to get the bill reduced to $25. While the company was responsive, I was not pleased with the experience overall. The deal ended up costing me much more than the $66 dollars. I was charged for replacing heads that the tech broke and was charged an additional fee for a second visit to locate a problem that should have been caught the first time. Additionally I will be paying for the water that leaked from the main line. Approx. 8,000 gallons according to the meter.

They did a good job. They also turn our system on in the spring for us, and off again in the fall.

They messed up the first time (forgot to turn it on), had to come back, and messed up the second time (the timer was set wrong). Since they've come back the third time, however, there was one spot that seemed to be dry; it started raining often, so I haven't called them back out yet to show them the missed area.

AK did an excellent job. I would recommend.

I received quotes from multiple vendors with each varying in cost as well as the work they would perform. AK provided a competitive price and was at the top of the list in regards to the amount of sprinkler heads they would install. The team arrived early morning on the install date and completed all work in a single day. Post install there were was an additional requirement from my city which neither I or AK was aware of (extra shutoff valve on the water line in my basement) nor was it listed in the original quote. AK was willing to come back out to my home and perform the work, and with a smile on their face I might add, for no additional charge. Overall my experience was excellent and I've already recommended them to multiple neighbors. I'll be using AK for all the maintenance moving forward.

I was able to work with the owner from the first call to final installation. Aaron was extremely accommodating with my work schedule throughout the whole process. The system was installed in 1 day, and the lines were barely noticeable after the installation. I appreciated the warranty period and attention to every detail. Aaron even added irrigation in my window boxes and made it possible top expand the system in the future. I would recommend this company to anyone without reservation. I only have to set the program and enjoy the benefits.

It went very smoothly. AK wasn't the cheapest quote we got for our work, but they used high quality components (Rain Bird) and were very professional. His team completed the work in a little under one day and were flexible to get it out in before we Weston vacation...they even responded within a day when one zone was raving part of the yard too wet (shade) and the rest not getting enough water (full sun)...getting out the evening before we went on vacation.
