A 1 Appliance Repair

Great! I will recommend to all my friends and neighbors. Gave me all the advantages/disadvantages to repair/replace. Went above and beyond to make sure it was working properly and didn't burn my house down! A truly great company.

They were really nice and came when they said they would.

We have a 10 year old washer/dryer pair. The dryer has been squealing for some time. Over the phone he said it was likely a faulty rear main bearing. He came over, took a look, and since it was during the holidays, he had to wait for the parts distributor to open after new years. He returned a couple of days later and completed the repair in under an hour. He thoroughly cleaned the dryer vent path while he was in there. And he's a good guy to boot.

Refrigerator was making a clicking noise. Two days before Christmas it continued to click and did not turn on. Was hosting a large get-together that night and absolutely had to have the appliance working immediately. Called at approx. 11am and they informed me someone could be there between 2pm and 5pm. Called ahead before arriving. Upon arrival assessed the problem, replaced the board as well as cleaned the vent and adjusted door. Gave helpful information on temp settings and cleaning schedules. Polite and friendly, was in and out in 45 minutes. Provided receipt and warranty-of-work document.

Suffice it to say, Brooke will be the person I call the next time we have an appliance problem. If he is busy, I will wait my turn rather than go somewhere else. I called late on a Saturday afternoon not expecting any return call until Monday. I got a return call in about 30 minutes. Brooke had just finished a job in my area as was willing to come over right away to fix the washer. He is very professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Whatever awards Angie's list has, he more than deserves them. I can fully give him my highest recommendation with no reservations.

I was happy with everything that the company did. They came out and took care of the problem with no trouble. I would use this company again it was painless experience and have used them before.

I had an appoint with another company to fix the seal on my Whirlpool Washer-I waited at home all day and at 2:00 they called and canceled and would not reschedule me for 2 days. With four kids I couldn't be out a washer for two more days I found A-1 Appliance Repair through Angie's List-I called him and he squeezed me in that day-he did a great job and the price was a lot less than the other company's.

The tech came out and unable to recreate problem. Suggested that we were overfilling washer(I am guilty)and putting in too much soap. I was unaware how efficient the newer washers are. I found this company to be honest and trustworthy.

A-1 repaired my dryer and were excellent. They even cleaned out my dryer vent at not extra cost. They were prompt and professional and responded to my phone call with in the hour. I trusted their repair recommendations and did not feel taken advantage of. A great experience!

On the Saturday afternoon before Labor Day we ran our dryer and saw that it was only producing cold air. I called Brooke and he took the call while out on another call. I expected that the soonest we might get seen would be Tuesday but Brooke asked a few questions, consulted his planner and committed to be at our house before the end of the day. He arrived, diagnosed the problem and estimated the cost to fix it. Within a half hour we had a working dryer and a few tips for extending the life of the heating element.

Great service, Brooke was able to make a service call the day after I called him. He was prompt, called prior to coming and set right to work. He found the nature of the vibration problem even though the noise was not occurring while he was here. He provided me with education regarding the problem, how to further investigate it in the future (should it reoccur),and he advised me in some preventive maintenance for the refrigerator. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely call him in the future with any problems with large or small appliances in my home.

I called A1 Appliance Repair about my dryer. He diagnosed the problem over the phone and was honest enough to tell me he could make the repair, but it would be cheaper in the long run to buy a new dryer, as the problem would just come back in about 6 months. He recommended another brand of dryer. It is not often you find a service person with this kind of honesty and integrity. Thanks. I will definitely recommend him and use him in the future.

I called A-1 and was able to schedule an appointment at a convenient time. Brooke called before arriving to let me know that he was on his way. He took apart the refrigerator and determined that the fan was not working properly. He called his parts supplier and found out that the required parts were in stock. Brooke left to pick up the parts and was back within thirty minutes. He replaced the fan and completed the work in a very timely manner. Brooke was prompt and very polite. He was also very knowledgeable about appliances and conscientious about his work. Brooke provided a warranty for both the part that was replaced and the labor.

Brooke was prompt, professional, neat and kept me informed every step of the process. I recommend his company highly!

Our refrigerator and washer both went out the same week. The fridge seemed to be losing temperature, and stopped making ice for several days. This same fridge (8 yrs old) did the same thing about 4 yrs ago. They were prompt and tested several components, even though we both suspected that it was the control board, as it had done the same thing before. Brook is always very courteous and helpful in understanding what had happened. We are repeat customers of A-1. I not only would recommend them to others, but I call them anytime I have an issue. Brook is very knowledgeable, and his father was the serviceman for our family's appliances.

First, this company is no longer being run by Brooke. According to the man that came out, Brooke is working for another company and the service calls are being made by someone else. The stove is in one of my rental units. The service man was rude to my tenant, chiding him for taking too long to get up the stairs when my tenant is disabled. After looking at the stove for a few minutes, the service man stated the problem was this the house wiring. I then had a licensed electrician come out and he found that the problem was NOT with the house wiring. The cook top was installed improperly. It took him about 30 seconds to fix the problem. I then called A-1 Appliance and told them what the electrician had found and asked for a refund. They refused, again stating the problem was with the house wiring. I would NOT use this company again.

When I called and they said they would be out in about an hour, DeWitt & Sons & Daughters Appliance Repair & Services arrived at my home to do the repair. I asked them if they were with A-1 and they said they were taking over their business. They did not honor the Senior Discount that is listed with A-1. They charged $50 to come out, and they replaced a valve in my basement that runs water to my freeze. The total bill came to $96.

I came home after 7pm and realized my refrigerator had not been working all day. I called around to a lot of service providers, and Brooke was the only one who agreed to come to fix it that night. He arrived when he said he would -- shortly after 9pm. He was professional and kind and fixed my refrigerator promptly. If I had to wait until the next day, I may have lost all of the food inside and would have had to find a way to leave work and meet someone at my home. Brooke really made my life easier. He was a lifesaver.

They were very professional, on time, and got the job done. They charged me a fair price and cleaned up when they were finished.

They were prompt, courteous and professional. Brooke showed me the problem and explained everything he was doing to fix it. They were neat and worked steadily to complete the installation. I was very pleased with their work and would definitely call them again.

They were honest and told me the investment in the repair was not worth it. They said it would be better to use the machine as long as I could and buy a new unit in the future.

Brooke responded very timely to my call as I was having company for the weekend and my dishwasher door would not shut, it actually would just fall totally open. He was so accommodating in his schedule to fit me in. He is definitely a trouble-shooter, and can figure anything out. After fixing the dishwasher door, it popped open again within the next 24 hours and Brooke came back immediately at no charge and readjusted a few things and it is working perfectly. He seems to love a challenge. He then gave me advice on how to keep this problem from happening again. Brooke is very professional and I highly recommend him. I will definitely use A-1 Appliance in the future.

Brooke was courteous, on time and more than fair with his work estimate. I was impressed that he carried spare parts in his truck for our fan type because he recognized a growing tendency for them to fail. He returned my initial call promptly, called before arrival and cleaned up after himself. Furthermore, my refrigerator is back to normal and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again for any other appliance repair.

Brooke is always prompt, polite, and professional. His prices are very good for the amount of work he does. I am especially impressed with how quickly the turnaround time.

Sunday morning I noticed that my refrigerator had no power to it. So I went down to the basement and notice that the circuit breaker switch had flipped to off. I flipped the switch back to on and I heard the refrigerator come back on. After about an hour I noticed that the fan was blowing warm air! Mr. Preston was the only person that called me back after I left several messages to other companies. I later learned from him that typically appliance repair companies will not return your call on the weekends. He came out diagnosed the problem and explained to me in non technical terms what was causing the refrigerator to blow out warm air. Mr. Preston was very honest and professional. I will recommend him to anyone that needs appliance repair work.
