A 1 Appliance Repair

HE Scheduled a time, called ahead to confirm, showed up on time and was there and gone in 1.5 hours. He saved my day and was very affordable. Thank god for someone who doesn't demand a FOUR HOUR WINDOW and then show up a week later. LOL

We were very pleased, and they did a good job. We shouldn't say one person that was fair. Philip Preston is the owner. We will give them all A's across the board.

Brock was very responsive to both our calls and emails. He was able to fit us in on a Saturday morning, not a scheduled work day for him, with no extra charge. It was nice to be able to communicate with a service provider by email as well as phone call. He helped us diagnose our problem before he came out to fix it. That saved us time and money since he knew to get the replacement fan and other parts before seeing our refrigerator. Brock was professional in all aspects. We will use A-1 again.

Great. He was able to come a day earlier than scheduled. He diagnosed the problem quickly and had the parts to fix it in his truck. He also offered numerous tips on drying that I was not doing which may have led to the dryer's not heating.

Called Brooke at A-1 in the morning and he did a preliminary analysis and estimate based on what I told him. He was able to make a service call THE SAME DAY in the afternoon. After detemining the problem (broken defrost heaters) he made a phone call to the parts store and went right out to get the repair parts. Installation was completed quickly on his return. Exceptional, timely and friendly service - unfortunately a rarity these days. Highly recommended.

Brooke arrived same day as called. Went right to work to determine the problem. Checked over each possible part that might cause the squeal. Very thorough. You can tell he knew what he was looking for. Part needed to be ordered, since my machine is old, and an an old brand. He left to get part and returned within the hour to complete repair. Brooke vacuumed out the inside of the dryer while all the insides were out of it. Made a point to tell me most techs would not bother spending the time to be complete. (I agree). All while the time he was working he informed me of tips to running the appliance correctly. Great honest man, fair on price, and very dependable!

He responded quickly to my voice mail. He was flexible in arranging an appointment, showed up on time, and explained clearly what the problem was (bad thermostat). He left to get the part and returned that afternoon to complete the repair. He also adjusted the sticky refrigerator door. Absolutely outstanding service! I will definitely use him again for any appliance repair, and recommend him highly.

I called A-1 after 3:00pm on 5/25/2011 to repair my refrigerator, which was not cooling. I had called two other providers from the list, but they were either completely scheduled until the next week or the next day or so. Since I had a house full of company coming for the Memorial Day weekend, I was hoping to have the refrigerator fixed ASAP. Brooke told me he could come out that same afternoon after he completed another job. He arrived at my house within 1.5-2 hours, diagnosed the problem ( a faulty defrost thermostat) and did the repair. When he was putting the refrigerator back together, he noticed that the freezer drawer was binding on the refrigerator door, so he made some adjustments and fixed that also. Brooke was professional, extremely efficient and has pride in a job well done. His price was very fair. I will use his company again and recommend him to others.

I called A-1 on 4/21/11 to repair my broken dryer that was not heating and left a message. Brooke called me early 4/22/11 and was able to schedule a same-day appointment. First off, Brooke was cheerful and pleasant on the phone, which is important to me, and he asked a few questions and agreed to come out. About 30 minutes before he arrived, Brooke called me to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived around 130 pm, he immediately put on booties and then followed me to my dryer. He was able to diagnose the problem within minutes, the heating element was bad. He said my dryer was old and that he had to pick up a part to fix it, because he didn't carry the part on his truck. He left and returned within 20 minutes. While he was fixing the dryer, he noticed that the cord was going bad and that the door latch was missing, he said he wanted to "do the job right" and even though the cord wasn't completely bad, he couldn't leave without fixing it as he knew it was on its last legs. The whole job was complete within an hour. Brooke was, fast efficient, professional and very detail oriented. When he finished the repair, he went over a list of helpful hints, such as scrub the lint filter annually and don't open the dryer door before the cycle is complete--as fast cooling the interior will upset the thermostat. I was really happy to learn these tricks to keep my dryer running. Doing good, honest work is obviously important to him. The service was excellent and the price was fantastic. I am extremely pleased with A-1 and will definitely use them again. I always buy used laundry equipment and I am absolutely thrilled that I have a great appliance repairman to call now. Its such a relief. Brooke, my washer's transmission is going out--I'll be calling you again in a couple of weeks!

Prompt return call, came out same night because it was over the holidays and I needed our stove. Made 2 separate trips out to our house. Friendly,honest and very reasonably priced!

Returned my phone call and provided very good advice about repairing a microwave vs purchasing a new one. Also provided contact information for another service provider.

Responded to my email inqury with a phone message. Scheduled me for the next day after I returned his call; Had the part with him so he clearly knew the options based on my description of the problem. Arrived in the scheduled time frame, Was efficient in completing the work and pointing out the vent issue, a safety and efficiency factor in the operation of the dryer. I will use him again.

Brooke called back within 30 minutes , stopped in within 2 hours of initial call , discovered the problem quickly , left, picked up a part , returned , replaced the part and the refrigerator began cooling. Very professorial , explained every thing that was going on with the repair and cautioned about the age and life of the appliance. Very satisfied.

I spent about $155 on that service. The job went very well and not the dryer is working. I would tell others that they came in and knew what the problem was. The diagnosed it, they had the part and cleaned everything out of there because I was probably in danger of having a fire in my dryer. I thought that they were very fair and honest in telling me what I needed and did not need. They were very thorough in making sure they cleaned everything out.

He is very good. He is very honest and will tell you if something is not worth fixing. He answers the phone himself which is good. He always shows up when he says he's going to. I've been very pleased with him. There were two things in this ice maker and he said one is bad and the other is going to go within a year so he said I can replace it now or you can call someone back here in a year. So I thought that made sense, he could have waited for it to break and charged me another service charge. He's a good looking guy too.

It is so difficult to find professional, reliable service providers, but Brooke at A-1 Appliance gets an A++. This was an excellent customer service experience. Brooke returned my initial phone call within a few hours and was out to look at my range the following day. He accurately diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and followed-up with me as soon as the part came in, and he got it installed in no time. I was very happy with his professionalism, follow-up and courteousness. I will be calling him again if I have any problems in the future, and will be recommending him to my family and friends.

Very pleased. called at 8:10 AM and left message. had a call back before 9:00, and Brooke was here by 11:00. Quickly determined that the problem was indeed the heating element, and had parts with him his truck. Additionally shop vacuumed all lint out from inside of dryer, which was nice. Dryer is now working fine once again, and one big potential headache was quickly solved. And now it's just to catch up with the laundry.

My fridge was freezing. I called Brooke and he was able to come out the same morning that I called. I had been carefully paying attention to the temperature in the fridge and freezer. When I explained that the freezer was fine but the fridge kept freezing, he knew right away that it was a bad damper. Brooke ordered the part and was able to obtain it and fix it that same day! He also was able to get my water dispenser to work free of charge -- I just had to thaw out the filter in the back of the fridge. Brooke was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again should I need to. While the price was fair and I was even given a discount, I gave a "B" because I believe the cost was "good" not "excellent". I checked and the part was only $120-$145 online. Given that leaves about $100 for pay, insurance, fuel for travel etc, I do think it's fair and hope it doesn't discourage anybody from considering this company. It was highly rated on both Angie's List and the BBB.

Our range stopped in the middle of a self-clean cycle and output a cryptic error. A reset of the breaker and leaving the range off overnight did not fix the problem. The range door was locked in a closed position and the range would do nothing except spit out an error code. Of course, this happened just before we had house guests in for a week... Brooke responded to our call extremely fast and came out to service the range. He reset a high-temperature breaker and gave us suggestions and tips on how to avoid this error in the future. He explained that we could wait to see if there were other problems resulting from this breaker tripping before just replacing it, and he tested that it was working within tolerance electrically. He then went on to help allign a bent warming drawer's guide rails so that it opened and closed easier!

Our washing machine died on Friday evening Nov. 26, 2010. We contacted several appliance repair companies but none could come out sooner than Monday, the 29th up to Friday Dec. 3. We contacted Brooke of A-1 Appliance Repair, who had just finished his day. He said he would come immediately. Brooke determined the problem right away and repaired it. After he had repaired the washer, he put it through all of the cycles to make sure everthing was working properly. During the repair, Brooke was very personable and enjoyable to talk to. We had never used Brooke before but he is now our go-to guy for appliance repair.

He was courteous, friendly and informative. He also used a part on hand instead of ordering a new expensive one. I appreciated the fact that he came the next day after I called him.

Our Frigidaire oven stopped working which is only around 8 - 10 years old. I called Brooke and he answered the phone himself. He said he could come out later in the same day which was great but I could not meet him so he came out two days later. The motherboard was shot and unfortunately it was going to cost us around $300 to replace. We decided it would be better in the long run to just buy a new oven. Brooke took a closer look at the motherboard and noticed a small, burned out connection. He thought he could re-solder the connection and and it worked! We were thrilled. So this oven we were about to throw away only cost us $85 to fix. Brooke is so nice and very professional. He could have made more money off of us (if we chose to replace the motherboard). He could have also charged us more to solder but did not. I love this guy and will use him for all my future appliance repair needs and recommend him to our neighbors and friends.

I am very embarrassed that I have not provided a report before now. I have used his services several times, but I have not filed a report. Brooke is really fantastic and I highly recommend his services. Over the last couple of years, I have had him repair my refrigerator, stove, washing machine and dryer. I trust him completely. He is thorough, efficient, and honest. I only have wonderful things to say about him. Although I do not remember the date that I first called Brooke, I remember clearly that I had called several other appliance repair shops first. They were scheduling 5-7 days out. When I called Brooke, he said, ?Well, I can?t be at your house until this afternoon.? Wow! I was so impressed! Indeed he arrived that very afternoon and diagnosed the problem. We needed a new part which had to be ordered, but within two days my refrigerator worked great. We called him again when we had problems with our stove and washer, and he promptly fixed those problems. Our last service call was for our dryer. After a thorough inspection, Brooke informed us that the dryer should be replaced and it wasn?t worth saving. He went so far as to tell us that the dryer was a danger and could potentially cause a fire. I was very impressed with his honesty. I believe that most people would have fixed the dryer and charged us a fortune, but that?s just not the way Brooke does business. He?s awesome. I think that Brooke is a one-man company, and I appreciate the fact that he answers the phone himself. He is always VERY pleasant and VERY professional. I have never found his prices to be exorbitant either. I can?t remember (sorry!) how much we paid for any service call, but I know that the service call cost was less than the competitors? quotes that I received when I first called about my refrigerator a couple of years ago. Brooke has also been willing to reduce the cost of service calls because I am a repeat customer. He takes care of his customers!
