They came around 3:30 in the afternoon and were finished by 7:30. They were very clean and proficient. The first shingles they put on didn't match and they agreed to replace them at no charge. Due to the weather, this has not happened yet. However, they were very responsive to my concern.

Arrived at my home at 3:00 to 3:30 P.M. and finished in the dark at 8:45 P.M. They immediately began by taking down all the gutters and downspouts. Meanwhile, the crew chief made the gutters, cutting them exactly right and putting in the stents, holes, ends, etc. This crew chief also had patterns he used within the gutter to make exact cuts at their ends. The other installer began putting up the gutters. Bone Dry uses nails to affix the gutters to the house. He also had to make some installation changes to the gutters and down spouts. This appears to be far better method than those long (I don't know what they are called) things I have had on all my houses throughout my life. Bone Dry Gutters (Roofing) seems to put on the gutters first and then install the downspouts in many cases. They affix the downspouts to the side of the house by metal flanges that are nailerd into the motor holding the bricks together. When the crew chief finished manaufacturing the gutters, he then helped with installation. All items were completely cleaned up during and after installation and they use a roller with a magnet as did Bone Dry Roofing on my roof to pick up any metal items (screws, nails) plus a hand held magnet to do the same from my lawn, bushes, and driveway. They also blew away any debris on my driveway and sidewalks after all their own debris was completely removed. Screens were put on my back gutters as well.
Description of Work: Took down all gutters and down spouts and replaced with 6" gutters with 4" downspouts. Made the gutters exactly on their truck with a nifty machine. All gutters and down spouts are exact and were form fitted by the crew of three who arrived and performed this work. Actually, two men did the installation while one helped remove the gutters and cleaned up. One man (the crew chief) had 13 years experience while the other installer had 10 years experience installing gutters and down spouts. The clean-up guy was on his third day. As with the roof put on also by Bone Dry Roofing, I was able to pick from a vast array of colors to match my home look.

We asked Mike Bova to check out the shingles on our roof, we had concerns that some of the shingles were loose and there was a softball size lump under the shingles. We also had a leakage on our gas insert brick fireplace roof, along wth some concerns about our flashing on our bay window roof. Mike and his assistant took pictures of what they found on the roof, it was a harness clamp under the shingles, we had a couple nail pops that Mike took care of. Mike also mentioned that the ridge caps would need to be replaced in five years or so. After looking at the roof on the fireplace, Mike suggested that we use a spray on sealant for the brick to stop the leak. The bay window was also and easy fix. We couldn't ask for any better service than what we received. Mike was professional, helpful, and didn't charge us a service call, or for taking care of the nail pops. I would recommend this company to family and friends.
Description of Work: We were concerned about a few nail pops on the roof, there was a softball size lump under the shingles, and we had a leak on the roof over our gas insert fireplace, along with loose flashing on our bay window roof.

Arrived by 8:00 A.M. Began working with a crew of seven. Mike Bova was the supervisor on the job. I get him to install mine if I need to ever do this again as he is very knowledgeable. Worked hard from 8:00 until 6:00 P.M. Got the entire job done in one day and it was 39 2/3 square. Very systematic and very workmanlike in their approach. You'd be surprised at how many people drove by and stopped to look as well as walked up to gaze at the work that was completed and being completed. I believe they will get new customers simply from those who viewed the work personally by Bone Dry and the fact that my house's roof looks by far the best in the neighborhood and I have a sign in my yard.
Description of Work: Removed old shingles. Installed 15 pound felt. Installed CertainTeed Asphalt Shingles (Landmark Plus - the kind listed as the best by Consumer's Reports), Used Valet with Ice/Water Shields, Closed Valleys, Pipe Flashings (3), Roof Vents (3), Ridge Vents (6 Box, 1 Power), Fixed Double Skylight, Painted any exposed piping. Thoroughly cleaned up all debris and any other mess they created completely.

In late June the Cincinnati area experienced a rain and wind storm. During this event, a large limb broke off of a tree in my backyard (it must have flown 50', spinning through the air) and landed on my roof. The limb broke several pieces of decking and tore up a large area of shingles. I was able to tarp the area myself while I waited for the insurance inspection. After receiving the insurance documentation, I began soliciting quotes from 10 roofing companies. I found Bone Dry through Angie's list and was impressed by their reputation. While several quotes were similar in price (though several were $7,000 higher), I was most impressed with Bone Dry and decided to give them my business. Jim?s estimate was close, but not an exact match to my insurance company. Jim worked directly with my insurance to retrieve the additional funds. Work began a few weeks later and was completed in two days ? very surprising to me considering the scale of the job. Everybody was helpful, answering my question as they arose. And the crew thoroughly cleaned up at the end of each day. When all was finished, we did a ?walk through? with the crew leader. I would encourage you to really take your time in this process and actually get up on the roof, if possible. My husband and I rushed through, deciding everything was fine and sent the company away. Upon closer inspection, we noticed a few issues, which were corrected the very next day. The roof looks great and does exactly what it is supposed to do ? keep my house bone dry!!!

They were really good. I have heard nightmare stories about other roofers in our area so I would definitely recommend them. They were here when they said they would be and the work took less time then what they estimated it would take. They also brought enough people to do the work. We were satisfied with the price and their professionalism.

I wasn't really that happy with them, although they had great reviews. He told me verbally when giving the estimate that he would do the work and actually replace the shingles. He told me that the proper way to do it was to replace the shingles as well as the flashing. When they came back to do the work they did not replace any shingles. In the quote he put replace shingles as need, but he verbally told me the right way to do it was to replace all of the shingles. Legally I couldn't tell them to replace them because the estimate said as needed. He quoted me $630.00 and I asked him how much labor time that included, and how much for the materials. He told me it would be about 4 hours worth of work, when really it took them about an hour and a half. He basically lied to get me to accept the bid. He wrote down whatever he needed to, so that he could get by with doing the bare minimum.

Came out quickly and made it easy to see what needed to get fixed, by taking digital pictures and seeing for ourselves. They gave us the estimate right away to review. The estimate had two parts so that when we were ready, we could just return the original, by fax or mail, and keep the copy behind it for our records. After faxing it to them over the weekend, they called to schedule on Monday. They were extremely quick and flexible to schedule, came on time and got right to work. It was an efficient process and they cleaned up so you couldn't even tell they'd been there. Glad to hire them again.

The work was completed efficiently. Christian, the general manager, completed the work and did a great job of cleaning up after he finished. What I appreciated most was that he gave me a number of options at different price points to complete the work I needed, which gave me the option of selecting something that fit my budget.

Excellent. I don't have a really large roof, but was surprised that they could complete the work in about 41/2 hours! They had a large crew and worked quickly and efficiently. I left before the work was completed and when I returned, they had cleaned up so well that I wouldn't have known they were there if it wasn't for my brand new roof. I was also surprised that I didn't have to put a deposit down before the work was done. And, I appreciated the Angie's List discount!

Because siding is subcontracted by Bone Dry I was given a start date about 1 week after the quote. This date was missed and I was actually called 2 weeks later by the subs when they were at my house. As I had no idea when they were coming I was unable to leave work to meet them. They said the work would be about 3 hours and shouldn't be difficult. Upon arriving home nothing appeared different, which to me was a good thing. However, upon getting on the roof to check the work I realized nothing had been done. It wasn't that a section was missed; nothing at all had been completed. The guy called me, knew I wouldn't be at the house, then did nothing but still invoiced me. I called Bone Dry immediately about the issue and left a message with the office manager. I was told someone would come out to review the 'work', then call me with the results. Lo and behold, I never got a call. However, one day while family was in town some guys showed up and said "we're here to work on your siding". Good thing someone was home since I had no communication from Bone Dry. The work was finally completed about 1 month after the initial bid. To add insult to injury, I received another invoice from Bone Dry stating 'Second Notice. Please Pay'. This was about 1 week after the work had actually been completed. Go figure. Lesson Learned: Always check the work after completion!!!!
Description of Work: An area over our living room did not have appropriate flashing/ice guard installed when the siding was originally done. Subsequently, during a strong thunderstorm some water got under the siding and dripped through part of the ceiling. I called Bone Dry to come out and evaluate what I thought was a rolled roofing issue. The guys were great about checking the roof, checking the flashing and anywhere else that might be my source. They left a quote and because of prior dealings I went ahead and scheduled the work.

Response from Bone Dry Roofing & Masonry - Cincinnati
As evidenced by the vast majority of our Angie's List responses, Bone Dry strives to provide the highest level of customer service. We failed in this instance. While no one likes to read such information about their company, all feedback is important. Several miscommunications led to this particular result, and Bone Dry has taken appropriate corrective measures regarding our procedures and this crew to ensure this scenario does not reoccur.

Excellent experience. Bone dry sent out a rep to do an inspection and give us a written estimate. He was punctual and very professional. The scheduling was done by the main office, the crew showed up on time on the morning of the install. They were finished by nightfall. They covered plants and had a clean up crew working on the ground as the roof crew was working the tear off and install. The yard was cleaner when they left than when they got here. The crew forman stayed for the entire install, and was providing updates, and asking if I had any questions..... Very professional.

I needed roof repair after a tree top fell on my house and made holes through the roof shingles and boards. Upon inspection by the insurance company, it was determined that the entire roof needed to be replaced. Bone Dry was the first of four roofing companies that responded to my request for an estimate. They remained in first place throughout the roof replacement: first to return my call, first to schedule an appointment, first to provide a timely estimate. Jade Marsh is the Roofing Specialist who visited my house and provided a clear, written, categorized, and detailed estimate. He concluded the visit by describing Bone Dry's process, value statement and referral listing. Jade also encouraged me to do some research on the web to learn more about the roofing products they used and the company itself. I took his advice and everything he said was true. After receiving two additional bids (one company never even returned my phone call), I determined that Bone Dry submitted a higher quality offer at a lower cost. I scheduled the appointment to have the work completed. On the day I scheduled to have the work completed, I received a phone call from the gentleman who would act as the foreman for the job, Brandon. He was professional and courteous and brought a team of about 10 Bone Dry roofers with him. Brandon provided frequent updates and intermittent phone calls to ask my permission when they deemed that work was necessary beyond the initial estimate (i.e. wood replacement). We anticipated that some of the damaged boards would have to be replaced, but there was no way to know how much wood that would be until the old shinges were stripped off. At the end of the day, my house and garage roof were both replaced. The yard was completely clean. The only evidence that the Bone Dry team had been there was our beautiful new roof.

I had a number of companies come in for the roofing work. Their price and the way they did the estimate made me choose Bone Dry Roofing. They met with me to do the estimate and made sure we looked at everything together. They also found a problem in another part of the roof. They did this in addition to the claim, which actually did need to be done. They also offered me the best price. They were better than anyone else. I recommend them highly to others and I also would use them again in the future.

The man who came out to appraise the job and to answer any questions seemed very knowledgeable. He had a lot of good printed material that we could read at leisure so that we were a little bit surer about the work. We called the local place but wound up talking to somebody in Indianapolis, but we were okay with that. I think that they sent workers down here from Indianapolis. They were very efficient, prompt and well-organized, and the way they communicated with us was very good. They did what they said they would do and had it done in a little over half a day. There were a lot of people working on the project and they seemed to be well-trained. The supervisor was very prompt and he answered all our questions and explained differences very well. We had an estimate from another company that was higher than theirs.

I asked them to inspect our roof and tell us if it was repairable or if it needed to be replaced. He went up and came out promptly and told me it was repairable. They came out within a few days and repaired the shingles. It?s been fine since then. They did a good job. There was no litter around. I was pleased with them. He could have told me that I needed to replace the roof but he was honest with me and that?s what I liked about them. The price was excellent.

I can't say enough good things about Bone Dry! Just super service from start to finish. They came out within a few days after I called to give me an estimate. Other roofing places took almost 5 weeks just to come out and give an estimate. Louis who gave us the estimate was very knowledgable and took his time to inspect the house. He then took the time to prepare an estimate before he left and sat down with me to review the estimate and ask if I had any questions. The estimate was very thorough and I was even quoted a price per sheet of plywood should any of my plywood need replaced. The other places I received estimates from did not quote me any prices on plywood replacement and their quotes took at least a week or two to arrive. Bone Dry provided me with copies of their Insurance and Bond along with references from customers. They even provided a listing of several addresses along with the color of the roof shingles so my wife and I could drive by and see how certain colors of shingles looked in person on a roof. We set up a date for the roof tear off and install and were told they should be able to get it all done in one day. The crew arrived, quite a few guys, about 8am and went to work immediately. I spoke with the guy in charge and left the house to work at a relatives house in the neighborhood. About 10am I got a call from the project supervisor. He explained that they had torn the roof off and the whole front of my house did not have plywood sheets. It had boards that were only a few inches wide with gaps in between them. It looked like the house originally had shaker shingles which require wood strips with big gaps in between them. Then when the shaker shingles were removed the person just put in more wood strips in the gaps but the wood did not fill the gap completely. There were gaps from probably 1/2 inch to over an inch between wood strips. They advised me that the proper way to handle this would be to cover these wooden strips with the plywood sheets. Otherwise when they were putting the shingles on many of the nails would not go into any wood and would eventually pop back up and would become an issue. I agreed and told them to put plywood over all of these wood planks. Since I would need about 34 sheets of plywood they actually gave me a cheaper price on it than the estimate which saved me several hundred dollars. The project supervisor told me to stop by if I would like to see the issue. So I drove over and sure enough it was just as he had described. I spoke with him for a few minutes and then left. I told him to call me if there were anymore issues. They finished up about 7pm and I arrived home shortly after that to see my new roof! They did a great job cleaning up after themselves and actually left it cleaner than when they left! I had quite a few old leaves in my driveway and they swept all those up and took them away for me! I would highly recommend Bone Dry for any roofing needs!
