Bone Dry Roofing & Masonry - Cincinnati

I got 3 estimates for the project. Bone Dry was the most expensive by far, however they proposed doing the most work and went into the most detail about what needed to be done, so it's hard to say they were too expensive. They did excellent work in a reasonable amount of time. My only complaint concerns the fact that removing old brick and mortar is very dirty work and a lot of dust got on my screened porch. When I brought this to their attention , they put up a tarp to protect the porch. They also offered to blow off the dust on the porch. I declined this offer as I felt the porch needed a more thorough cleaning.

The finished project is excellent! It was completed just two days ago, but has not rained yet so I have not seen the results in action yet. The gutter estimate and and preinstallation contacts were all handled by the same people who managed the roof replacement. The emphasis was always on the roof, which cost about 4-5 times as much, but I had to bring the topic back to gutters several times to be sure I knew what I was getting. The roofing supervisor explained how the gutter crew would operate, the scheduling, and invoicing. The gutter crew arrived the night before installation to review the materials needed and said they would begin around 9:00 the next morning. They showed up almost an hour early and I think they were hoping the rain would be ending soon. They waited out the rain for about two hours and I appreciate their persistence to get the job completed. Once they started they worked efficiently and finished before 1:00. The new gutter system looks excellent and much more stable than the original. I asked for a second color for the downspout running across roofing shingles over a garage apron and it is even better than I had hoped. Differing from my experience with the roof replacement, there was no dialogue or additional supervision by company officials. Several times from the beginning estimate through to the completed project I was told I would be selecting the colors being used, but that never happened. However, the choice of colors seems to be fairly limited and since I was only trying to match existing colors of my house my goals were met in more than satisfactory results.

I was very pleased overall with the process and if I need another roof in the next 50 years, (highly unlikely) I would definitely go back to Bone Dry. They have a very thorough approach beginning with reviewing the current roof from underneath using the attic and then creating a digital video showing the details of the initial inspection. The salesman, John, came back to review it all with me a second time at my request. The project was scheduled and proceeded on time from start to finish. I was sent pictures of the work when the old shingles had been removed and the original plywood was exposed, then as the underlayment was applied, and as the shingles were completed. Cody, the crew supervisor along with Scott and Steve representing the management also reviewed the job during the day in person and as parties to the text message updates. There was a follow up review the next morning. Every contact I had with the company was pleasant and they always let me know what to expect next and even suggested I contact my homeowner's insurance to find out if I could get a discount for the new warranty. Overall I was very pleased with the experience and found the company to be well developed to provide excellent service to their customers. This is a very busy season and I had a couple of glitches in communications, other than that I would highly recommend them.

From start to finish, the project went smoothly. I did have some wood that need to be replaced but this was not unexpected. 10-12 people showed up and finished in one day. They cleaned everything up. We only found a few nails. They took off Ray St. Clair installed Gutter Helmets and put them back on. This was basically free. Ray St. Clair wanted $1800 for this service (which is ridiculous). In the end, most of the gutter helmets worked but the front of the house. Ray St. Clair did have to come out to replace these at a cost of $500 (which is way less then $1800). They took photos of everything along the way. I did have other estimates that were a bit lower and Ray St. Clair was a lot higher.

Price was cheaper than competition and did more work. Showed up on time as scheduled. I didn't even need to be there. Nice job!

Went well. Now we wait for a driving rain to see if the leak is fixed.

Like a dream. Every person I had contact with, in person or by phone, was professional, polite, and knowledgeable. I'll hire them again when it's time to do the house roof.

Very well. The work was done on time, effectively, and at a very reasonable price. The quote was far less than another we sought because they told us that the other contractor indicated unnecessary work needed to be done -- even though we specifically asked and they could have "bid up" the job.

The job went wonderfully. The person estimating the job was very knowledgable about the the cause of the problem...offered ways it could be corrected...the crew were on time every day...they worked about 5 days to rebrick the wall..every day the area was cleaned up before they left...they went to great lengths to exactly match the existing brick to keep cost down...the estimate was not only fair but a little less than expected...the job supervisor was not happy with how 6 bricks had been installed and sent the crew back to redo just those few,,the company is very dedicated to high quality work,,,thanks angies list and bone dry

It didn't go. After visiting my home and assessing the two chimneys, promising to get back with me with a quote for the work, there was no response. I sent a polite follow-up email to the gentlemen who came to my house asking for some response - a quotation or acknowledgement that they won't bid for the work - I received no response. After a week, I sent another polite email asking for some response. It has been about 6 weeks now and nothing. I would ask that BoneDry seek to be more professional and at least provide a response. Ignoring correspondence is now assuring that I won't use their services and I will pro-actively make my friends and neighbors aware to seek other companies. Wish it had worked out differently.

I have used Bone Dry in the past and they installed the roof on our rental home and have done repairs at our primary residence. We were in the process of selling our rental home and needed to make some minor repairs to the gutters. The closing was contingent on having an estimate on the repairs and having them scheduled. A sales representative named John Stroble came out to our house and promised an estimate for the work. He understood our timeline, which simply required an estimate in writing within two weeks. He never sent an estimate. In fact, I left numerous phone messages and e-mails. They all explained that we just needed an estimate in writing and could schedule the work at their convenience. My messages were all courteous and all explained that our closing date was fast approaching. He never even afforded me the professional courtesy of a response. The closing ended up getting postponed and the lack of an estimate for this work was one of the reasons for the postponement. I would estimate that if cost us over 500$ out of pocket. Our primary residence is now in need of a roof, but I will not use Bone Dry again despite the quality work that they did when they installed the roof on our rental home.

My in-laws had a roof put on by them and they were quite pleased with them too. The guy told us we had about 3 years left on our roof and he was right.

They were good. We were pleased. They came and did the work they said they would do. They are very fair priced. It was an inexpensive fix. My husband has been pretty pleased with their over all work and price. They have been to our house before and we have always been pleased with their work. They are real good. They come when they say they will. Once my husband finds a provider that he likes, he tends to stay with them.

Supplies dropped night before; called prior to arrival by (1) hr. Roof put on pictures taken by company as progressed, all debris picked up and removed.

I had quotes from four roofing companies, BoneDry not the lowest or the highest quote. I chose them because the sales person explained all details for me and answered my questions in a professional manner. The chimney work was done first, on time and to my satisfaction. The shingles were delivered day before work scheduled. The roofing crew arrived early next dand kept me posted on all steps with pictures taken on my roof. Roof was installed completely in one day and all debris cleaned cleaned up, including going over my yard with a magnet to find stray nails. Later I found my bathroom was making noise and Bone Dry was here next day to take care of it. I am very pleased that I chose Bone Dry for my new roof.

We had used Bone Dry several times before at our old house and were always pleased with their work and their prices. After discovering that the problem was just a leak around a vent box, the technician said he would email an estimate, but he never did. We emailed the technician directly and then called the company, and although the person who answered the phone apologized and said someone would follow up, no one ever did. I understand that it was a small job, and if that's why they didn't want to do it, that's fine--just tell us! We wasted several weeks waiting for an estimate that never came. We did find a great company who took care of the problem promptly. We will need a new roof in a few years and I assumed we'd go with Bone Dry, but after this experience, I will hire another company.

From quote to repair, Bone Dry was very responsive and professional in their work. The expectations provided at quote stage were all met. They provided updates and photos on the work as it was performed. We did need to call them back because they missed one part of the work order. They promptly responded to the call and apologized for not completing the work order on the first visit.

They did an excellent job. They were very professional. I would highly recommend them.
