Excellent! I knew that the roof badly needed to be replaced when I purchased the building a month ago. It was 'spongy' and soft in several places. Bone Dry Roofing only charged me the cost of the plywood and 2 by 4s needed to repair the structure. They called me and gave me the price of the extra repair work as soon as they had the roof off -extremely reasonable and very communicative. All the shingles were hand nailed, the crew was very courteous and professional, and the work was done in a little over a day. Very pleased!
Description of Work: Replaced the roof on a commercial building, replaced 11 sheets of rotted plywood and rebuilt the roof of an overhang to an entrance which was rotten.

This is the best company I've worked with all the time we've owned a home. They were on-time, friendly and willing to accommodate our needs and timeframes. As an insurance claim was involved, willingly worked with the adjuster and helped get a better final settlement. They were great! Especially Jim Keffer. But everyone involved were very professional from sales, to actually performing the work and follow-up.

I got proposals from three contractors that I found through Angie's List. Two were impressive, one of which was Bone Dry. I was confident in both contractors, but when the proposals were compared including appropriate options to get an equivalent scope of work, Bone Dry cost about 5-10% more for similar work and quality of materials. I would absolutely consider them again in the future.

We were able to schedule an estimate appt within a few days. The estimate made sense and seemed fair. They said they would call and schedule the work in the next few weeks. They ended up showing up within a week and repaired the roof in about 3 hours. We were happy with the job thy did -- but won't know if it worked until it rains. They guarantee their work.
Description of Work: We had mild water damage in an upstairs bedroom and needed to get the roof inspected to find out where it was leaking . They did a full inspection and told us that areas around our vents and some caps needed to be repaired and sealed .

The initial estimate was provided to me immediately. This was helpful as I had waited over a week to get one from another highly ranked company on Angie's list. The price was also very competitive. I agreed to have Bone-Dry do the work and was told I would be contacted to set up a date. Communication following that first interaction, however, was a little sporadic - and no one actually called to schedule, they just said "hey, we think we can do it today". That sounds bad, but it was actually fine. When the crew got to the house, they realized that it could not be done in a day and that the roof was so bad that it would need complete redecking. This delayed the job a day or two, somewhat increased the cost, but - again - that was not a problem. Although there were some minor communication/scheduling issues, the Bone Dry crew did a fabulous job. The increase in total cost due to the deck could not have been predicted until some of the roof was pulled off - and they made sure to check with me during the process to see if I wanted to proceed (which I did). Plus I paid a much more reasonable price (per sheet) than others had quoted. All in all, I got a good deal. My final comments are about the guys doing the actual roofing. They worked all day in 95 degree temperatures, pulling horribly dusty and dirty material off - and then continued into the night. The next day they cleaned up so well you could not tell they had been there - except for the bright white new roof. These guys were tough and good. I would certainly use Bone Dry again.

They replaced an entire new roof for us. From what I learned from this company, if you have one layer of shingles down, they can install a 2nd layer of shingles on top of that existing shingle roof. You cannot install more than 2 though, because of the weight. When we contacted Bone Dry Roofing, Inc. -Cincinnati they were able to come out and they had to remove both layers of shingles on our older home. They also had to take care of some of the wood that had been damaged throughout the years. They replaced the roof with a layer of new shingles and their pricing was fair compared to others in the area. They came on time, did excellent work and even finished the job in 2 days. I also want to comment that they were able to do this on my very steep old roof too. I also want to add that they were very timely both days, efficient, courteous and cleaned up all the debris.

I can't say enough good things about this company. The first time they came out to do a repair, they were going to be later than they thought because earlier jobs ran long. They called me three times from the field to keep me updated on their new arrival time. When they got there late in the day the shingles that were sent weren't the perfect hue for Manny. He waited an extra hour on the job site for someone to bring him more appropriately colored shingles. The job looked amazing! The second repair I have had them do was because a tree limb fell and struck my roof puncturing it in three places. They came out, assessed the job and even offered to do the gutter. The bids were extremely reasonable. After discovering further damage to the interior of the home I decided to get home owners insurance involved. Due to the lag time before the adjuster could get there, Bone Dry responded quickly. Manny once again saved the day by coming out late in the day and putting up temporary roof tarp. I love this company. I wish they did more than roofs. I will use them every time for any and all roof issues.
Description of Work: Second time I have used this company. First time was a repair job on the front roof. Second time a tree limb came down, punctured the roof and ripped the gutter off. Bone-Dry offered to fix the gutter in addition to the roof. They then came out to do temporary patch on the roof until the insurance adjuster could respond. Full repair after insurance adjuster assessment.

An old "flat" roof on part of my 120-yr-old house was not draining properly. Previous owners had a rubber membrane placed over the old metal roof. (I would have replaced the metal roof had I owned the house at that time.) The rubber was not installed correctly and water was pouring over the side when it rained. Bone Dry responded very quickly to my initial call to come to the home to assess the work. Not knowing what was under the rubber, we were hoping box gutters were there. A couple weeks later, when the workers came out early in the morning, they removed the rubber and found rusted metal and rotted wood. There was a raised lip along the perimeter of the roof rather than box gutters. The advice was to remove the metal and rotted wood, strengthen the rafter tails, replace facia board and install new gutters and downspout with new wood and rubber on the roof. The workers worked from early morning to sundown and returned to complete the job the following day. It rained the next day and I was happy to see all of the water coming from the end of the downspout and nothing was coming from over the side of the roof. Now I can replace the siding that was damaged by the water pouring on it every time it rained.
Description of Work: Removed an old metal roof that was under a rubber membrane. Removed old roof decking and replaced it. Repaired rotted rafter tails and removed and replaced the facia board. Installed seamless aluminum gutters and installed a new downspout.

The estimate was smooth and easy. Then he brought two guys to do the work a week later. I think they stuck my job in between a couple of others and did it very quick. At first when I saw them working, I thought they could just work quickly because of their experience. But after the area had dried, I saw there were cracks in some areas, some joints were flat out skipped, and a couple sections that weren't filled out with enough mortar. They took one hour to do the job. I sent pictures to John, one of the managers I think, and he said he agreed with me, that wasn't Bone Dry quality, apologized, and said he'd send the guys back to fix their work. The second time around, they fixed a few spots, missed a couple spots that were in the pictures I sent, were sloppy in some areas and did not make the joints look smooth. My tenant said, "No offense, but that looks like a DIY job." I sent John pictures again and expressed my grief of choosing Bone Dry over the other quote I had for the sole reason of Bone Dry being dedicated to this type of work, whereas the other quote was from a handyman who did masonry among other trades. Next time I'll go with the handyman who has done other work for me with excellent results. After the second set of pictures, John said he'd send the guys back to fix the joints that they missed and the areas that are still cracked or have wholes in them, although it hasn't happened yet. Did Bone Dry fix the wall so the bricks wouldn't fall out in the areas where the mortar was that far gone? Yes. Did they make it look professional? No. Although I do have to point out that John was easy to work with and sent the guys back immediately once I showed him the first pictures.

We signed a proposal for the chimney repair on April 25th because their other company Bone Dry Roofing was going to replace our roof. The proposal said Bone Dry Masonry would be out in 3-4 weeks to complete the job. I didn't hear anything from them for three weeks so I called to find out why we hadn't been placed on the schedule. They said they would be out on May 30, which was over the 3-4 week time frame I initially received. They came out on May 30th and work on the chimney. They came down and said they would be back in two weeks to finish the job by adding another coat of sealant. I received an invoice and a certificate of completion dated May 31, which could not have been correct because they had not finished the job. I didn't not hear from them for over two weeks and found no evidence that they had completed the job. Exasperated I called the company on June 19th to find out what was going on. The young lady I spoke to said that someone would call me back regarding when they were going to come out an finish the repair. I explained that I would not pay the invoice until I had proof of job completion. She agreed that I should not pay it until the job was finished. I finally received a phone call from the company on or about the 15th of July asking me to pay the outstanding invoice. I replied that the job had not been completed. The young man on the phone consulted with someone and said I should have received a note or door tag saying they had been out again. I explained that I had no such communication and someone needed to verify its completion. The young man said he'd be out that Friday to check the repairs. The company came out and offered proof of completion. I was away but I told them I would call them on Monday regarding payment. I opened my mail and found a letter from a law firm representing the company, dated July 17, that said I had ignored "reminders and requests" for payment from Bone Dry Masonry and would be subject to immediate litigation unless I remit payment. To say that I am furious would be grossly understating my anger at this company. They utterly failed to communicate with me about the job, were less that punctual and forthcoming and threatened me via their attorneys with a lawsuit because of their incompetence. I paid the bill, but I would never hire them again or recommend them to another person. They need to get their act together!

They were prompt and efficient throughout the whole process. I was a bit confused about why the gutters were not done the same day, but they were replaced within a couple of days of the roof. We did find a few nails in the driveway afterwards but they did a really good job with the clean up. There were some language barriers, but the foreman spoke English. I was very pleased with the work and recommend them to anyone who needs a roof repair or replacement. Finally, they also were by far the least expensive proposal I received out of the 8 companies I contacted. So it's a great value or the work.
Description of Work: Tear off of three layers of shingles and replace with 25-year dimensional shingles. Remove an replace old gutters and downspouts with 6-inch seamless gutters.
