I contacted BBB on March 30, 2012 to inquire about heat treatement services. My parents have been experiencing a problem with bugs and my father is on oxygen which makes it difficult to use chemical treatment. The technician came out the next day to conduct an inspection and to give a price. We schedueld treatment for April 4, 2012. During the inspection we were given the price, informed of the guarantee, and told that the techinicians would remove and replace items such as large TVs. The team arrived as expected on the 4th and removed the items from the house. At the end of the day, the technician (1 technician left early) informed my father that he could not return the items to the house. My father was upset, but my mother and I agreed to carry the large televisions back into the house. On April 6, my parents informed me that they saw 2 live bugs in the house that day. On April 7, I contacted BBB to inform them of the findings. I was told they would send a technician out the following week Tuesday or Wednesday. I was also requested to ask my parents to catch any other live ones. Over the next few days, my parents caught two live bugs and placed them in a pill bottle. BBB never came back out. I contact BBB again on April 17th and was again told someone would be out. No one ever came. I contacted BBB again and scheduled yet another appointment, a week and a half out, for today May 23 at 5:00. By 5:45 no one had arrived. I contacted BBB and was told that somehow he thought the appointment had been cancelled and that he was "on a job" and could not come out that evening. He stated he could "fit us in" on May 24th, but could not tell us a time. I explained the previous missed appointments and the fact that we could not just sit around the house and wait for him to come. He stated that his next available appointment was May 30 and that was the best he could do. I explained that waiting another week was unacceptable since we had been waiting for over a month. I requested a refund. Graham stated that I was not going to get a refund. Next option - Court. I would not hire these guys again.

I called to authorize the treatment and the company worked with the tenant. I did not need to get involved which was very important for me.

Once we discovered that we had bed bugs we tried to eliminate them ourselves. We removed everything from the second floor of our two story home except for the largest furniture into the garage. We then had the carpets steam cleaned. I personally steamed the furniture with a professional grade steamer. But, no matter what length we went, we still would find a bed bug or a bed bug egg or bed bug shedding indicating that we had not gotten them all. Since they reproduce quickly, we knew that it was a losing battle. After, deciding that heat was the best way to make sure that all bed bugs and their eggs were killed, I got quotes from various reputable exterminating companies - all from Angies List. I found the rates to be outrageous - from $3500.00 (Rose) to $4500.00 (Scherzingers). My feeling was that here in Cincinnati, families are experiencing a crisis with bed bugs and the major companies are willing to gouge them with fees that are extremely difficult for most families to handle. Then I called the Bed Bug Boys. Maurice said he would get rid of the bed bugs on both floors plus the garage for 1500.00. Scherzinger said that they could not heat our garage the desired temperature and so the $4500.00 would not include the garage. At this point, all of our second floor belongings were in the garage and so Scherzinger was not an option regardless of their high price . Maurice and his partner from the Bed Bug Boys showed up at the appointed time and brought in two 204,000 BTU heaters and routed the very wide ducting to our various rooms plus the garage. Five hours later they were done and all I can tell you is the entire house and garage were hot! In fact, the garage reached 160 degrees. It's been about a month and no bed bugs so far. We do regular inspections ourselves since we have gotten quite proficient at spotting bed bugs. Maurice guarantees his work for sixty days. Some of the other companies that I called only has a 30 day warranty. We are totally and completely satisfied with the Bed Bug Boys. Maurice got rid of the bed bugs for $3000.00 less than the other guys and the other guys could not even include the garage! I highly recommend the Bed Bug Boys.
