Pillar To Post Professional Home Inspection

Excellent. Our home inspector was very upfront and forward with everything he found both good and bad. He also shared some of his knowledge regarding particular issues our house had. The thermal scan we got actually found a minor leak that would have gone unnoticed until notable damage and repair was needed. My wife and I are more than pleased with the service we received and will use them again.

This was my first home inspection, so I can't compare my experience with Pillar to Post with any other company. I can say that I felt respected and in good hands with Pillar to Post. Our inspector took his time to make observations with an emphasis on safety. He took photographs and explained all of his observations in terms I understood and made recommendations as necessary. I appreciated that he was aware of his scope of knowledge and if something was out of his purview, he was honest about it and provided resources. His tone was realistic, without instilling fear regarding the problem areas he discovered. Pillar to Post was thorough, helpful, professional, and courteous.

The representative was prompt, courteous and right on time. He spent a great deal of time checking everything in the home. We were given a complete copy of the report.

Piller to Post very thoroughly inspected absolutely everything at the home we are purchasing. After completing the outside inspection he brought my husband an me outside and pointed out everything he looked at and explained everything very well. Inside he did the same, After he inspected plumbing, walls, windows, doors, appliances he took us room to room and again explained what he was looking for. Suggestions were made about proper maintenance we should follow in the future. He showed us how to light the gas fireplace, Our inspector was very thorough. We let him do his inspection and then we received the results and explanations . I would very definitely use this company again. When job was completed we received a binder with all his findings including pictures he took. If we have any questions in the future our inspector is available to answer any questions we may have

Things were not that great with them. They were not very thorough. I noticed that the inspector commented that the hot water tank would need replacement. We later found out that the hot water tank had just been replaced and it was actually new. I wouldn't recommend them and they were extremely overpriced. They did the report on sight but they weren't right and it wasn't accurate.

While the inspection seemed thorough and complete at the time, we later learned about several things that had been missed, including roofing and major plumbing issues. The most major of the problems - plumbing - involved major past damage to structural beams for a shower that were not detected because they deemed a crawl space and quot;too small to fit intoand quot; so they didn't enter it - all plumbing for 2 main baths is housed in this space, so they actually never even looked at the plumbing for that entire side of the house. Meanwhile, my husband who is 6' tall AND our plumber who is nearly 6' can both fit into the crawl space just fine (and our plumber and his assistant have, unfortunately, had to go into that space multiple times over the past couple years). The shower substructure was so damaged the entire thing had to be gutted. The other main bath also had more minor plumbing issues that were not uncovered in the inspection. The roof, which they deemed and quot;old - more than 20 years oldand quot; but did not make any comments on its condition, was seriously damaged by a hail storm from a year or 2 earlier and could have been fully replaced by the previous owner's insurance policy, as that hail storm was still being covered for folks who were affected by it. However, because they did not see or note that damage, within 3 months of moving in we had to replace the roof due to major leaks around the chimney and the overall prexisting damage - which they did not pick up (but three separate roofers all did note it when we were getting estimates, and gave us their sympathies as they said and quot;this could have been fully replaced by the last owner at no cost to anyone...and quot;). After these discoveries, which have cost us approx. $20,000, communications w/ the owners were unpleasant and they were very unprofessional - no customer service skills at all. Their artbitration clause makes it impossible for the client/customer to combat any wrongdoings without spending between $1,000-2,000 in mediation/legal fees. I would never use this Pillar to Post team again (or any Pillar to Post franchise), and would certainly not recommend them.

The testing was a result of findings from a home inspector recommendation. Upon seeing the area of concern he described what he would be testing and how. He also took time to point out that from what he could see there should not have been a need for special mold inspection. The testing verified his initial analysis.

I was very pleased with them. They took their time to answer all my questions for me. They were very courteous when they were there. They showed up on time to do the work.

THE INSPECTION WAS FAR BELOW EXPECTATION. THEY WERE UNPROFESSIONAL AND GAVE MIS-INFORMATION.

THE TWO YOUNG MEN WERE VERY COURTEOUS. I CANT REMEMBER THEIR NAMES. WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEIR PROFESSIONALISM.
