Called them out, got a written estimate and was given assurance that the job would be equal to the amount provided by my insurance. They made it out a few days later than promised but it was due to weather delays. They got the job done in two days. I have a multiple angle surface roof and it is somewhat steeper than average. They cleaned up the outside very well. I had two plants get damaged and they replaced them with new ones. Workmanship and final appearance was very good. Had two other issues when the job was done. The staples used were too long and when they stapled the shingles on, it created a big mess in my attic storage area, wood splinters and old shingle grit fell all over my attic stored items. It took me several hours to clean up the mess. I did not find this problem until several weeks later. I did not call them to complain, just cleaned it up. One other issue was handled. There was one area on my back roof that had a depression after the job was completed. I called one of the Mitchells and he sent the lead crew chief out. They removed bad deck and replaced with new and made it appear flat as it should have been. They did not charge any extra. When the billing was sent out to me, it was for more than the insurance coverage estimate. I called them up and they adjusted it lower just like they had originally promised. Overall I was pleased with the job and would use them again, but with shorter staples that would match my roof decking thickness. They were honest and kept their promises and were responsive. It is now a year and a half later, and no leaks!
Description of Work: Removed old shingles and replaced with new due to hail damage. Replace approx two bad roof deck sheets. Replaced bottom felt. They used long staples and staple gun. Had 30 year asphalt shingles put on.

I had a roof leaking into the dining room area. I found him on craigslist and he said he will do the repair for $175.00 I said that's fine as long as its fixed ASAP vs. waiting couple weeks to be on a schedule and water damages the ceiling etc. He collected his money. Almost a week later when it rained again, the ceiling leaked again! I had a chance to get on the roof and look and all they did was throw some white caulk in between the shingles around the vent stack that is up there. When I paid him, he gave me a written invoice signed and has a 24 months guarantee. It says "Work performed is guaranteed for 24 months not to leak. Can and will return is problem persists". Well when i called him, he's trying to have me pay $4400+ to replace the entire roof. I told him I dont have the money and all I need him to do is come out and guarantee his work and fix the problem for this winter. Almost an hour later on the phone, with him weaseling his way out, he said he'll come out with his great famous dad and fix the problem themselves. He will need to check his schedule and let me know. This conversation or "argument" took place on Tuesday August 30th 2011. And after 8 calls since then he always redirects me to voice mail. Big Crook, not worth my time or money, his work is not worth anything nor is his dad's business worth anything. When people call you to "fix" a leak, you fix it. If the leak is not fixed, that usually means come back out and fix it or refund the entire amount since you dont know what you're doing. It's really old plain english, and if you dont speak english, you really shouldn't own a business in this country. Needless to say, he lost my business and the new roof I told him I am planning on installing NEXT YEAR when I have the money for. I already had another REPUTABLE roofer come out today and told me how much it will cost to really fix the problem and that the work they performed is useless.... some of the caulk already deteriorated and washed away in the rain after ONLY TWO WEEKS. Wow. Anyway, my neighbor is a very good lawyer, and I can take this company to small claims court, but I think him trying to built his business on Angieslist and beggining me to leave him feedback, will ding him more than the measly 175 he stole. Oh and by the way, I know how to hurt you on craigslist too, so i can stop you from scamming others. Did I forget to mention that he begged me to leave him good feedback on Angieslist and he will even reimburse my $3-$4. Well Dan, here's your good feedback, and you can find a special place to shove your $3 or $4. Do not hire these guys. They charge more than others. They're not answering my calls anymore. They did a bad job and they refuse to fix it even with the signed 24 months guarantee they gave me.They list themselves under several names but here's the ones i know of and phone number: -Roofing and General Contracting -Mitchell's General Contracting -Dan Mitchell is the co-owners name. His number is (330) 203-5520
