Mackin & Sons Plumbing

I was very pleased with the responsiveness and professionalism I received from Mackin & Sons. They came out to assess the situation and were able to give an estimate before proceeding. They found the best way to handle the main pipe issue and called in another member of their team to assist. The gas leaks were tested and handled immediately. Their clean up after was done well and they were prompt and polite throughout the repair. They worked with our deadline of getting the repairs done and provided appropriate documentation of the repair being completed for the inspector. Of the 3 contractors we worked with (electrical and others), I felt completely comfortable that the repairs were completed fully without cutting corners. We also were able to use the coupon from Angies list which was a bonus!

Mackin did not show up for the appointment. After waiting almost 2 hours, I called the company and no one answered the phone. I left a voice mail message. I have never received a call back.

Mike Mackin is punctual and professional. His prices are reasonable. He is very trustworthy. In the future, if we would have a plumbing issue, we would certainly call Mike Mackin to come to do the service.

We have had Mackin & Sons Plumbing here on several different issues over the years. We are very satisfied with the service as of last year. Their prices are quite reasonable. We have not had them out this year.

Excellent! Guys were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, punctual and I could not be happier. Mike called me to let me know when the guys would be arriving and even stopped in when the guys were here. I also got a call the day after the job was done to make sure all was well and I was completely satisfied. I'm very impressed with the way the company operates. You only have to read other reviews to know other customers feel the same way too, it's refreshing to deal with a company that puts the customer first.

Communication with the owner who answered the phone was excellent. They were even able to move up my appointment due to a cancellation and called early in the morning so that I had time to rearrange my chores to be available. The service technician showed up on time and was very courteous and professional. The job was completed in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Jacob arrived on time, explained clearly what he was going to do, and now we have a beautiful kitchen sink that's not dripping/leaking. He had some tough going under there, but got it DONE! We will use them, again!

I called and Mike himself picked up. Nice to get the boss himself on the phone. He was very friendly and professional. I was extremely pleased that he offered that a technician would come over the same morning, on a Saturday morning! Our kitchen sink was defective and that was a big problem for us not being able to shut off the faucet properly. The technician Jacob was at our house within an hour! He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. The repairs were done very quickly and Jacob also explained the issues to me, which I appreciated. initial visit for quote I had to call they skipped over me and went to another job first. A few days after the job was finished, and my $424.00 check was cashed, I noticed the handle leaked water. I called and set up another appointment for them to come out. The day of the appointment they called to say they had an emergency and it would be late morning; I called at noon and they didn't answer the phone, I left a message and I was not called back; I sent an e-mail and weeks later I still have not been contacted.

Everything in regards to service & replacement was excellant. Jason even uncovered a secondary issue which required the services of an electrician. Main went above and beyond to help resolve the problem.

Mike Grand arrived promptly at the scheduled time and immediately went to work. He was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. Repair and cleanup was completed in about an hour. Would definitely recommend Mackin & Sons Plumbing!

Update to report of 09/26/2016. Received call from owner apologizing for failure to follow through with task as described. He sent an apprentice to make the simple adjustment. The rating should be adjusted upward from D to B.

Contracted this firm to install on 6/29/16 an EnergyStar brand name 50 gallon gas fired water heater with WIFI monitor plus a separate but connected automatic sensing and shutoff valve. Work appeared to meet standard throughout the installation. Tradesman left for 45 minutes to get a common part that wasn't on his truck. Upon completion of the job, tradesman presented a bill slightly higher than what was contracted (Owner preferred to work for flat rate rater than by-the-hour). Tradesman said he had scant instructions for the job from the owner who came to the site originally and quoted the job. There was no conflict; we parted amicably. Later that day or the next, I inspected the work more closely. All fittings and solder joints appeared in order. However, the overflow tube that travels from the top of the tank to the bottom, terminated not in the drip pan on which the tank sat (necessary to collect overflow or leaks that will then be sensed by the WIFI monitor and shutoff valve) but right onto the floor by-passing the entire auto shutoff system. I was dumbfounded that an experienced tradesman would fail to catch such a glaring mistake. I took a picture of the tube directing water to the floor and sent an email to the owner. He replied that it was a simple fix. I followed by stating I just needed to be able to unscrew that tube in the future without being forced to solder joints again. Since then I've phoned and/or emailed the firm three times with no response. My last email mentioned the request I received from the consumers' guide outfit I used to find a plumber (Angie's List); they were asking me to rate the contractor. I told Mackin I'd hold off nearly a week because I didn't think he'd want me to rate an incomplete job. I remain puzzled by the behavior of this firm and concerned about its stated "craftsmanship warranty" that is supposed to last for five years. What good 's a warranty if the provide won't even return calls? For these reasons, the firm gets a grade below average for this job; "D".

Received appointment reminder, and plumber showed up on time. damaged drywall cut away from ceiling to determine source of the water leak. It was determined water leak was not from bathroom directly above, the source was master bedroom shower. A Moen Cartridge was found to be the cause of the leak and was replaced / resealed. It's been a couple weeks with no issues with water leak. requested bathroom sink faucet to be replaced as well as stationary sink in laundry room. Work was completed with no issues. Received follow up email and phone call to ensure no issues with repair. Excellent customer service - i recommend Mackin & Sons and will use them for any future plumbing needs.

He was polite and efficient. His morning ran late from a previous client and I would have appreciated a call so I didn't wait the first two hours. A little on the high side for the service.

There are many options for Plumbing Services. After spending time reviewing customer feedback and details of work completed, i decided to try Mackin & Sons. My issue was a water leak resulting in drywall water damage/Mold. I received an email reminder regarding my appointment and arrival window - and plumber arrived as scheduled. I appreciate that work is charged by the job, not by how long it takes to complete. The Plumber was very thorough in tracking down the source of the water leak - which was caused from the master bathroom shower. a Moen Cartridge was replaced and the issue was resolved (after 2 weeks, no sign of water leak on ceiling) In addition to resolving my water leak issue, requested multiple faucets to be replaced. work was completed promptly. I highly recommend Mackin & Sons - Pricing was fair and work was completed as promised.

Extremely Well! Mike called to let me know he was coming and showed up as scheduled. He had a great suggestion on how to install the box flush against the house without needing to open the ceiling in the finished basement. Installed professionally using the proper tapcon screws for brick in under 45 minutes.
