 + 1 moreAfter taking in 2 of my Uncle’s dogs after his unexpected passing, we were in need some sort of fencing solution since our new additions were coming from sunny AZ where they had access to the outdoors majority of the day. After asking a community group on fb for recommendations, Dog Guard came strongly recommended. I was sold after one conversation with Heather. She knows her product. They were understanding and patient with our needs and got the ball rolling in no time. Chelsea was fantastic to train with and knew how to work with dogs coming from abuse in their past. So far the dogs are loving their new found freedom and just in time for the warm weather where they can sun-bathe to their heart’s content.

The business owner, Heather, was very accommodating and spent valuable time explaining everything to us. From the time we made our initial inquiry, she had us scheduled for an at home consultation, and installation within 4 days.  + 0 moreWe had a wonderful experience from start to finish! Heather, Chelsea and Sarah worked together to train our puppy and us, to make sure we all understood how to best use this equipment. Our 4 month old puppy figured it out quickly, and two weeks later can run around the back and front yard freely. They provided us with all kinds of effective tricks to make the training process quickly and easily. There was no waiting period - they installed and trained one week after the sales visit. They came back within two days to provide a little extra front yard training, and demonstrated how to use the indoor system to keep him from going up dangerous steps. We highly recommend this company!

 + -1 moreWires from power source inside garage come out of siding from pvc pipe. When noticed by me, the owner, all they did was put caulk in pvc pipe opening. Furthermore, when dredging wire towards sidewalk at garage, they cut sprinkler line, and when brought to their attention, they argued the water line was not placed low enough and was not their fault. Upon further discussion around water line, they said they would pay half and asked who the irrigation company was to work out the pricing on the fix. I had work done to fix it and they have not paid anything to fix the water line they damaged. Perimeter fence is working but experience was not worth recommending or going back to get work done again.

I was amazed at the amount of yard the fencing covered for the price. I did my homework and Dog Guard had the best customer feedback and the best price. I'm amazed how quickly the dogs learned and so very pleased with the exercise they are now getting because of this purchase. Wish I had done this years ago!

Installation was delayed due to snow, but as soon as she was able she installed the fence and showed us how to train our dog. She came back out and worked with us until we and our dog were comfortable with the fence. I would highly recommend Dog Guard Ohio to anyone who really cares about quality and customer service.
Description of Work: We moved to a house with a very difficult to fence yard. Our younger dog is a 'runner' and escape artist, but we wanted to try an 'invisible' fence. After looking at the options, we selected Dog Guard.

 + 0 moreIn addition to the above description of the service, we have been very happy that we went ahead with the Dog Guard fencing and training. We have a very large yard that sits well back from the road in an undeveloped area, but our partially grown puppy had reached the "teenage" era of his life and decided it was OK to wander and not necessary to come back for long periods of time. Some of that wandering was taking him increasingly closer to the road and nearest houses, not to mention other dangers of the area such as coyotes. Since the fencing was installed, he has only gone through two times, both in the first two weeks (chasing squirrels), including one time he tried to stop by the driveway and slid through on ice. With lots of wildlife around, he has gone chasing and barking around the inside perimeter of the fence many times but stays respectfully within. One time recently, he even stayed inside the fence while he had an animated "conversation" with a fox outside the fence! We have taken off the receiver collar a couple times and tried to bribe him through the fence at our driveway entrance to take him for a hike in the adjacent drive and fields and he solidly refuses to pass through even to get a large dog biscuit. We can leave him outside with confidence now and trust he'll stay within the confines of the yard.
Description of Work: The mother-daughter team of Dog Guard came to our house promptly after the initial contact to view the property and talk about options and pricing. They were friendly and professional, both with us and our dog. After the service was agreed upon, a job date was set for the near future to accommodate weather conditions and upcoming holidays. The work was completely efficiently by the team, including installing the electronic equipment indoors and the perimeter underground fencing. After the underground fencing was put in and marked with flags, the team worked with training both the humans and delinquent dog. They provided instructions to follow through with training. After several days the Dog Guard team returned for the next stage of training, working again jointly to train both our dog and us. We were assured we could call if there were any problems and they would return, and that we would be provided with replacement batteries and a complimentary dog tag. We were next contacted mid February to say the batteries and tag were to be mailed soon. In exchanging voicemails, we noted the fence worked so well that our dog couldn't even be enticed through without the receiver collar to go for walks. Dog Guard responded quickly to return my call with suggestions as to how to train the dog that it was safe to pass through the fence in a specific location in specific conditions to go for a walk.

After the installation (on the same day), she proceeded with training my dogs with audible training only and gave me instructions on the training and on the equipment. She then came out in a week and worked again my dogs to make sure they would be okay with changing the transmitter with a correction shock in addition to the audible sound. She spent over an hour working with me and my dogs and answered any questions I had. I feel confident that if I need her assistance and advice in the future, she would be prompt with her communication. I felt the price was very fair and it would be well worth the cost.

 + 2 moreHeather provides outstanding customer service -- not just in making that original sale -- but after that big purchase. She makes herself readily available by cell phone and responds to text messages quickly. Within 2 days of our initial contact Heather visited our home and supplied an estimate. She was back the next day to install the system -- which all went perfectly. She successfully trained our dog -- and since then he has not challenged the borders of the property. Our puppy outgrew the original small collar we had used so we texted Heather -- and she sent us the next size up at no charge -- we got it 2 days later! When we moved the transmitter to the new collar we must have not tightened one of the posts well enough. When we discovered that a post was missing we texted Heather and she again sent the replacement part - free of charge - no questions asked. Our experience with Dog Guard has been unequivocally positive. We would highly recommend their services. It is rare to find a company that is as responsive to small requests that make little profit as they are to that initial inquiry where they make a living.
Description of Work: Heather came and installed invisible fencing around our 4 acre property and trained our dog and our family in it's use. Since the original installation in fall of 2015 we have communicated with Heather to get a replacement collar and other accessories.

 + 1 moreHeather and Stacy were Amazing. One dog was a runner and would chase anything that moved. The other liked to charge the neighbors dogs when they were out. I think each dog broke the fence barrier once in the first month or so after it was installed, but that was it. It's been in place for about 4 months now and we no longer even think twice about leaving both dogs outside alone. I've seen them tested many times with neighbors walking dogs in front of our house and they now just sit at a safe distance and let them be. Unfortunately they still bark a lot, but that's nothing new :)
Description of Work: Installed underground fencing on a portion of our 2 acre lot, trained our 2 small dogs (age 10 and 6), trained us on how to work with dogs. RE-installed part of the system (no charge, no questions asked!) after I had second thoughts about the boundaries we set.
