First Choice Asphalt Sealing

I had a fine experience with them. I wish that they had filled the cracks a little bit better.

Superior quality job. Driveway sealed completely including the edges and corners. Job done quickly and professionally.

Took a while for the provider to contact me and set up appointment. They were prompt and on-time. They did the job very quickly. Cleanup was not the best. They left debris on the concrete driveway apron, sidewalk and street. Overall I was pleased with the job done.

I have not heard anything from this provider. I used them last year and they were professional, and timely. It is almost a month after my purchase of this deal and i have not heard anything. I would very much like to use their services again if they are still in business?

The service went well. There were no problems. The cost was a lot more than what the quoted price was because I think my driveway was longer. I think what was gray is they post this really low price and when they got there, it was almost double because my driveway was long. I knew mine would be more because it is longer, but I just think it could not be that long. Everything went great. It was a driveway sealing thing. They called before and said they were coming and I was not home. I guess if there was so much more, they should have called me and explained the bill. I would maybe use them again.

Scheduling and communication was difficult. I don't think they were prepared for the volume of customers resulting from running the Angie's list add. However, once we were able to get a date, the service was performed. The quality of the sealant application was ok- some spills but nothing too horrible.

Purchased a Big Deal for 600 sq. ft. driveway sealing for $99. 1st Choice Asphalt has an A rating, which led me to purchase the deal. I was a bit concerned after reading some recent reviews with an F rating, based largely on timeliness. The company's owner had been hospitalized for some time, and sadly, recently passed away. A few days after purchasing the deal, we received an email explaining the situation, and apologizing for the inconvenience. Despite the slight delay in scheduling, I gave them an A for responsiveness, given their situation and the fact that they did take time to communicate an explanation. I called the phone number from the email and spoke with the owner's brother, who is now running the business. He was quite professional and courteous, and scheduled the service for three days later. Our driveway is much larger than what the $99 deal would cover, and he was able to calculate our square footage using an online tool. We thought that was really convenient, as it allowed them to give us a quote without having to schedule a separate visit. Their technician arrived early on the day of the job. He was polite, professional, and ready to work. He took great care in preparing the driveway. He spent at least 90 minutes removing leaves and other debris, and did a great job of edging. He was quite thorough in patching and filling cracks in the areas that needed it. The sealing work was excellent as well, with great attention to detail. We were quite impressed, especially since there was just one person doing all of this work on a very large driveway. Our driveway looks better than ever! We thought the price was fantastic, given the size of the driveway and all of the prep work that was done. We definitely recommend 1st Choice Asphalt, and plan to use them in the future.

Getting them to come out was a chore. Voicemail was often full and lack of communication was a problem from get go. In the end the driveway wasn't falling apart so remained patient until they came out and driveway turned out very nice.

They sealcoated our driveway at 9 PM basically in the dark. Clearly the two men were exhausted as they had been working since early . morning! They were very nice, but the job needed another coat to have it look finished. We called the company and requested another coat and they came and made it perfect..

They did a great job. We're very neat with the sealcoating. We would recommend them.

After playing phone tag, we were finally able to set a time. It unfortunately rained on my scheduled day, but the provider was good about keeping in contact with me about when they would come and do the work. They even worked on a Saturday (the very next day) to make up for the rain date.

Lots of rainy weather delayed start.

The guy who called to make the appointment was a little rude to tell me that my driveway was not 600 sqf and because I bought the 89 dollars "promotion" I should pay 110 dollar more for my 1000 square feet. I agree, but I suggest them to use more professional speaking with clients. Anyway they did not come to the appointment. They called later and say sorry for not coming. The excuse was that they had apparently a lot of work. Anyway, they would come the following week and they would call the night before to let me know. The work was finished and well done. After the third day I called again to say there was a little spot without asphalt and the owner was tremendously RUDE. I questioned his rudeness and he asked me to find somebody else if I did not like the way he handle his business. He made bad comments with somebody else while he knew I was hearing. I told him I already paid and he should fix it. He accepted and I suppose to have somebody and they cancelled again and they never came. I will not buy more deals with Angislist. This is the second time I have a bad experience. I think these companies do not have idea how to handle customers and that is why they have to offer their "deals" that at the end, there is not deal at all. i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO BUY DEALS IN Angislist, and I am not blaming Angislist. They are doing an awesome job, they cannot control theses companies, they are trying to help providers and customers.

This was a Big Deal purchase. I paid an additional twenty dollars for a larger driveway. Scheduling went smoothly. The workers arrived quite a bit later than they said they would. Otherwise the project went well. Teresa Blakely

Owner promptly called to notify me he was in the hospital and gave me the contact of who to reach in his absence. Scheduled for a convenient date. They showed up within the date range given and performed the work as advertised. Nicely done overall.

Promptly contacted me with a 3-day window, called night before service to be performed. Very professional, courteous,, efficient. Great job!

He will NOT return my calls. He has my money, but refuses to contact me. Very bad customer relations. I just want my money back!!!

After some initial delays in scheduling (the owner is in the hospital and his brother is covering for him), the appointment was promptly scheduled. The price was a little high, but did include sealing a fair number of cracks. The team arrived about 3-4 hours after they were scheduled, which caused minor inconvenience, but not a significant problem. The ream worked fast, and was very careful. No sealant splashed around, all lines crisp and straight, etc. Time will tell, but so far, I'm very satisfied and would recommend 1st Choice.

Unable to schedule work to be done. Want my money back as not worth the aggravation of having to reach the company with no availability.

I like these guys. It's a small family owned company who know how to provide great service, I scheduled over the internet. Was called the day before the service was provided. The best part of this company is that they use QUALITY product. Most asphalt sealing companies water down their sealant. 1st Choice is the only company I've found that uses top grade quality sealant at full strength...not diluted. Highly recommended!

Driveway was looking kind of rough, but after asphalt seal everything looked terrific!.....Very nicely done!

I purchased the First Choice $99 asphalt sealing special directly from Angie's List. Since my driveway was larger than the minimum size for the $99 special, First Choice gave me a quote more than $100 higher than I had ever paid in the past. However, I decided to go ahead with the driveway sealing. A company representative called me the morning of June 6 and wanted to come out in the next couple of hours to seal the driveway. I told him that we were out of town and would not be home until later that day and did not want the driveway sealed until we returned. In a very sarcastic way the representative explained to me that they are a small company and needed to combine jobs to be cost effective. Once again I explained that we were out of town and it would not be possible since there were cars in the garage that needed to be removed prior to sealing. The representative then became rude and I told him that I didn't appreciate his attitude and wished to cancel the deal. He said it was not possible with him and that I needed to contact Angie's List. A few days later I called Angie's List was able to receive a refund.
