Description of Work: When I called to schedule this appointment, the gentleman who answered the phone let me know that there were many people responding to the ad and he would do his best to get my driveway done in a timely manner. When I let him know that I was putting my house on the market, he made a concerted effort to get to make my driveway a priority. The first day they came out it was cold and wet out. They still sealed my driveway, but there was white sand left in the street and the driveway looked brown. I called the company and discussed it with the owner. He apologized for the sand, and said if the driveway doesn't turn black by the EOB the next day, then please call and let him know. This is what happened, and he promised to come out and fix the driveway. He came out the next day and made it so the driveway looked the way it should.

I called the number he gave me. We talked and I told him that I had a real problem with the last company we had, who came and blacktopped6

Description of Work: Seal Driveway. OK service - driveway looks as expected. They did have an additional charge posted to my door due to the size of the driveway which I wasn't expecting - other than that nothing negative to say. I would use them again.

Description of Work: Took advantage of a sealing special...but had a hard time getting the job accomplished. And once it was, it was less than one might expect. Given the price, I'm trying not to be too h****** them. But crack seal was clearly needed and nobody made that known. The sealing they did was coming off within two months.

Description of Work: Signed up for this deal. Vendor was fine. Took a couple days to hear from him but he did call. Work done on a Sunday; he called before arrival so we could remove cars.

Description of Work: Bought an Angie's List coupon but 1st Choice didn't respond promptly, took awhile to provide estimates, which were well beyond coupon value, and when they did get back to us they said job couldn't be done. I can't criticize their work because they didn't perform any for us, but I sure do wish they'd have responded more quickly; I was moving and needed the job done.

Description of Work: i'm not sre i saw all they did but here's what i saw: edged the grass around the drive, scaped it with a wire brush where it needed, blew off everything from the drive, squirted sme sealer from a long hose attached to the truck onto the drive, slowly(carefully) and methodically squeegeed the sealer to cover the drive with a good layer. it filled the smaller cracks like itwas supposed to and gave some protection to the larger cracks(i waited too long to have this done). all in all it was a good experiance and they did a great job.they would converse with me in a friendly manner and bicker with each other. that was entertaining. you won't be sorry if you hire these guys.

Description of Work: this is the second year I have used this company for driveway sealing. Because of their quality last year I once again called them to do our driveways. As with last year the work was quality and we are very happy and will call them again next year.

Description of Work: Purchased Asphalt Sealing as part of Angie's List Big Deal. 1st Choice Asphalt Sealing did a nice job sealing driveway and patching cracks. They were very busy after offering the deal so it took a few emails and phone calls to set up the appointment. I was in no rush and the company was polite when I spoke with them. They called the day before they came (they try to schedule all jobs in the same area on the same day, which makes sense to me) . I am happy with the deal that I got and the service received.

Description of Work: We purchased a 1st Choice "Big Deal" coupon for asphalt seal coating for $86 -- good price! BUT, we first received a phone message that they would be out on a particular day, that they were in the neighborhood and "grouped" the jobs - No problem - except that this was purchased for a rental property at a different address than ours. We had to leave the message that the address for the service was wrong. Then several messages were left trying to set up the job and finally, on the date of coupon expiration, they were able to do the driveway. We knew the driveway was in bad shape and would require crack filling prior to sealing, but we thought that, since the "fine print" states that "larger cracks can be filled for an additional cost if needed [estimate required]", we would be contacted about the additional work required and provided with an estimate. The condition of the driveway was in no way hidden during the conversations. We were fully expecting a call (he had at least 2 different cell contact numbers as well as home numbers) to get authorization for the repairs needed. Instead, the sealer was just put over what was there -- and they even stopped the seal short of the end of the driveway where the old asphalt had broken down. The only feedback we got from the company was a note left that since the driveway was larger than usual (?), we owe them additional money. While the driveway is nice and black now, it is not repaired --- the reason we hired them in the first place! We have always had excellent service using Angie's List companies, did our homework on checking out the company reviews before hiring, this work fell far short of expectations.

Description of Work: I am on the board of a neighborhood with a private drive that was in bad need of repairs. We had a limited budget and needed to address the biggest problem areas while getting the best life out of the road. First choice was extremely responsive with a quote. They understood our needs and made recommendations without trying to sell us more than necessary. When awarded the contract they got the job done quickly. They scheduled the repairs for the weekend so the road would have minimal traffic from delivery trucks. We didn't even have to close the road. They got he job done in the time allotted and were courteous and kind. I would recommend them to anyone!
