It went very well. Keary came to the house, gave us an estimate, took the furniture (I helped to load the truck), gave us a promise date and delivered on time. The work looks great and the price was terrific. We are going to request further work from him. A great guy!!
Description of Work: Refinished two night stands, a desk (including refabricating some trim), and a bureau (and repaired a drawer). Repaired the back of a diningroom chair.

Our front door was peeling and needed completely refinished on the outside. Kerry did a good job matching to the color of the original stain and put multiple coats of marine finish sealant on it to protect from the elements. However, it took longer than he said it would, which was bad because we have no storm door, and had plywood covering the front door area of our house for about a month. My husband took the door to him and we picked it up. When I d called to discuss the stain colors, he d made a comment almost jokingly about the door getting banged up. As he hadn t made it sound serious, I assumed 1) that it was minor and 2) he would repair whatever the problem was. When we arrived to pick it up, it was covered up. When we got it back home, and proceeded to re-install it, we noticed the interior part had really been damaged. There were several scrapes and scratches, but of note was a big, deep gouge approximately 1.5 inches wide by an inch high. Of course my husband was careful with it when he delivered it there and I was with him when we brought it home, so I know it did not get damaged on the return trip. I called Kerry the next day and of course he denied damaging it. He also said he never looked at the inside of the door while it was there, which I find curious in retrospect to his comment several weeks prior about it getting banged up and also with the length of time he had it in his shop and since the front as well as the edges had to be refinished. Even if it did get damaged en route to his shop, the right thing to do would've been to be more clear as to what exactly was 'banged up' and to go ahead and fix it during the time it was there or at least ask me if he should fix it. After all, repair and refinish is what he does! He made no offer to come out and repair it and I certainly couldn t go through having my front door being boarded up any longer to take it somewhere for repair. Plus, just a few months later, some areas (in the edges of the panels) the newly applied finish is flaking a bit. It is important to note that this was not the first time we'd used Country Carpenter - my husband previously had him do some repair/refinishing of his office furniture and had a better experience. For that project, the quality of the finished job was better, so I would be willing to try using his services again.
Description of Work: Refinished the exterior and side edges of solid wood front door.

He was quick in the repair. He did seem like he had a lot of work and he told me "he did not really need the work". He came all the way to my house and pick it up, repair it, and brought it back.

Went very well. It was done less than two weeks. He worked on it and was about to deliver it to me in 6 days. After he got it outside in daylight, he realized it wasn't good enough for him and then called saying he planned to redo the piece. Keary seems to take pleasure in a job well done and likes to do quality work. I'm glad he took the time to do it right. I can't tell anything ever happened to it. I plan to use his services again. It's nice to see a person care about quality!
Description of Work: Keary refinished the top of my dresser which was damaged by a 4 year old who placed a leaking glow stick on top of it. It ate the clear coat and the stain but didn't harm the wood.

Keiry did a beautiful job repairing the legs; the repairs are almost undetectable! He also suggested I regularly treat the stand with lemon oil to replenish the wood. The repairs were made within a week of my bringing the stand to the shop.
Description of Work: Keiry repaired two broken legs on a small antique stand/table. The legs had snapped off when too much weight was put on the stand.

KEARY KNEREM WAS VERY PROMPT IN RETURNING PHONE CALLS AND PICKING UP AND DROPPING OFF THE TABLES. THE FINISH ON ALL THREE IS BEAUTIFUL. HE EXPLAINED THAT ALL THE WORK IS DONE BY HAND SANDING. NO CHEMICAL STRIPPERS ARE USED. THE 25+ YEAR OLD TABLES LOOK LIKE NEW AND WE COULDN'T BE MORE SATISFIED.
