I know that we were going to have them do it because it was cheaper than what we could do ourselves. We just didn't have the money for it.

Overall the experience was great

In the spring of 2010, shortly after buying this house, a skylight in the sunroom began to leak. My brother-in-law recommended this company as I did not know anyone. Jim came to my house that week and assessed the problem -which was that the sunroom roof had not been replaced when the house roof was and the tar paper was totally missing. The next week, Jim and workers stripped the roof to the beams, replaced the wood, tar paper, 4 skylights, shingles and installed a ridge vent. It took two days to finish. They were polite and cleaned up very well before leaving.

One day and roof was off and done. Two minor things got damaged during the roof tear-off and they repaired and replaced both things quickly without complaining. Also they came back and fixed some damage to our chimney from the high winds in the fall free of charge as a good will gesture towards us since many people had been having problems with leaks from the winds damage who never had leaks before or after the storm. These guys come highly recommended and I can't stress enough how pain free and awesome our experiences were.

The information shared had value.

I just learned that the black liner is cracked, allowing water to leak in. So the "repair" did not last two years! I am currently looking for a roofer to get proposals for new roof, jilek will be off my list.

The estimate was for $6000. The experience with them was not very good. I called the guy to get the estimate, he did not even need me to be there at this other property that I have to do the estimate, which did not really fit well with me. Finally, we worked out a time when I was supposed to be there, but I ran into a problem at the job, so I called the guy to cancel. Apparently, he did not answer to calls and did not response to messages at all during the day because he just ended up showing me there and went ahead, measure the roof and left the estimate. He did not return my phone call and has not called me since. To me, he does not care whether I take his service he is providing or not, it seemed like. I just was not happy with him at all. I was shocked from the ratings that he got previously. I would not consider using him.

Disrespectful, uncommunicative, and unprofessional. I first started noticing some evidence of water intrusion on my garage ceiling during the winter of 2009-2010. I called Jilek, but got no response. The next winter, I had MAJOR water intrusion to my garage walls and ceiling. Jim finally came out, but just said it was ice dams (even though I had never had that problem in the 20 years I have owned this house and it would also happen during heavy rains) and said I should put a heating cable up there, which I did not want to do. He finally sent someone out to install more ice guard last year... hopefully this will fix the problem (you couldn't tell with the mild winter we had). Then began the process of trying to get the damage to my garage fixed. It took several months of trying to get them to respond. When I finally reached Jim and when I calmly asked him about bringing in someone to check for mold before ripping out drywall and insulation that had been wet for years, he began SCREAMING at me over the phone.... just horribly unprofessional. Tom said it would be fine - he would replace the drywall and insulation and paint the garage and guaranteed we would be satisfied. Well, he did a nice job with the drywall. The painting was another story... the painters missed large sections (e.g., there is no paint on one section of the new drywall that was installed!) and because they didn't prime, paint started chipping off. Instead of stopping when they realized there was a problem, they continued to roll, spreading these chips along the wall. No one even knocked on my door to tell me there was a problem; they just took off, and I could not reach Tom until the next day. It took me a month to finally get Tom to come out to see it, and he tells me Jim won't do anything to repair it. Now I have to hire a painter to scrape and re-paint my garage. Overall, a very disappointing experience. My daughter had used them several years ago and had a good experience, but the integrity just isn't there. She had recommended them to several people, but she won't be doing so anymore. Update: 10/11/12 Just read the Provider Response and all I can say is 'Wow'... yes, after filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau, Jim Jilek did the right thing and sent a check for $300 to finish the painting of my garage. Extortion? For expecting him to finish the job as promised, or to pay someone else to? That's just insulting. I wasn't asking him to do anything his insurance wouldn't do; they would have painted the entire garage after drywall repair to restore it to uniform appearance. He finally did do the right thing, but it was a long road to get there.

Tom showed up, was very professional and courteous and honest. Gave us the best quote and the shortest time-frame to start. They came and did the work when they said they would, at the price quoted and at the stime stated. We were very happy with work - roof looks great. we would use again.

I had my roof replaced 4 years ago with a "lifetime" roof and my kitchen ceiling was leaking. I called several "experts" to try to ascertain what the problems were and no one could help me. Jilek roofing came out and they were able to identify all the problems in that area of the roof. I believe it was Jim Jilek who did the initial assessment and he was extremely knowledgable and professional. The original roofer had shingled over rotten wood, did not vent the roof properly, and a whole other assortment of issues. Jim sent out a crew and they took care of all the issues and assured me that they were going to "make it right," and I believe that they did. They were responsive, the took the time to explain what they were doing, and they seemed to understand how upset I was in regards to the original work that was done to the roof. The two roofers, Jim and Jason worked very hard and were helpful, kind and respectful. Everything was done timely and professionally. I believe this company was honest and fair and that is all consumers really want in exchange for their investment. I would feel confident about recommending this company to anyone needing work done.

They are an excellent company. They are very professional. I highly recommend them.

.We interviewed several other companies and this one was priced right in the middle. We chose him because of a good rating on Angie's List. We got an Amish crew and they were done in a day and did an excellent job. It was impressive on how quickly they got our roof done because we have seen our neighbors' get their roofs replaced and it's taken over a week. They did an excellent job overall.

We had active leaks in various areas of our house, garage, and porch - to say the least, our current roof was failing overall. Winter was fast approaching and we were trying to beat the winter snows (which haven't been as bad as expected, but we didn't know that then). We chose Jilek because not only was this roofer the best quote, but they were also quick to respond to provide a quote, and patiently tolerated the many, many, many questions we had before (and during) the roofing process. Jilek was very easy to work with and helped us to understand and wisely chose our roofing products. The products were delivered a few days before construction began. On construction day (within 3 weeks of our quote), the crew showed up, swarmed our roof (at least 10 crew members), and worked very quickly and efficiently. Several hours later, the roof was completed and clean-up was underway!! The roof looks beautiful, no more leaks, and we couldn't be happier. Plus, we know that if we do have any trouble down the line, the warranty provided by Jilek is in place. All said and done, this was a very positive experience, and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality roofer.

So far, the roof seems to be holding up. Their responsiveness was okay because they didn't always communicate effectively as to when they'll be on the job.

I called for an estimate and recieved a one within 24 hours. The price was very reasonable. Excellent job overall and my roof was not an easy one to work on. Very steep, it had additional layers of shingles (4 layers in some areas), and it also rained a lot that week. I think it took them about 4-5 days to totally complete the work and the new roof looked great. The crew was professional and courteous.

We had a terrible windstorm in April that ripped off 1/3 of our shingles. Jilek put on an entirely new roof. The men who did the work were extremely courteous and hardworking. I have young children and they made sure to put down tarps when tearing off the old roof so no sharp materials got stuck in the grass. They also went around with magnets to make sure that no nails were accidentally left behind. Each night, they left the house clean and picked up which i really appreciated. The finished work is outstanding and I could not recommend them more highly.

They came and removed ice dams during the winter. Then in the summer they came to correct the problem. Very satisfied with results.

Jim Jilek is a true professional. He is prompt, knowledgeable and does very good work. Jim is a pleasure to work with and is truly one of the "good guys" in the business. All of his crew were professionals as well, everyone showed up promptly did their work quickly and cleaned the work site completely. I am very happy with Jilek Roofing and do recommend them often to friends, family and neighbors.

I haven’t had any more leaks, which is what I would base my experience with them on. They did not have matching roof shingles, which was a little concern, and I had to just settle for a darker color than what I had on the roof. I cannot say I was too thrilled or was not thrilled; they were okay. I don’t have a whole lot to base my opinion on their price because I did not do a lot of comparing with other companies at all because I just needed the work done. Their price was probably okay, and the quality seems to be okay too. I would quite possibly use them again in the future; however, it would depend on the work that I need to get done.

Quick to respond for quotation. Once I signed them to do the job they failed update me as to what date the job was going to be started. I had to call myself to get updates. Overall They were good to do business with. They did the work they said they would do at the price quoted. I will call them again.

They came out and told me what work was going to be done. When they came and did the work the guys who came didn’t do everything they said. So far they haven’t come back to finish the job. I don’t know if that would be quality. What they did was good but they didn’t do it to the extent that they had originally promised and was part of the estimate. I don’t believe he is going to come back. They were pretty slow in their responsiveness. They came out and didn’t even tell me they were coming out. They came out a few days that I was at home. If they come out and fix what they are supposed to then I would probably use them in the future. I don’t think they are coming and chances are I won’t use them. I would probably find somebody else. He said he was coming and I don’t see him coming. Though his price was good I would go with someone more expensive to have everything done right.

He did an outstanding job. He straightened my roof out so it was level.

When they came to do the roofing, they piled all the shingles on one spot and that caused a huge crack in our living room ceiling, which was not good. They were there when that happened. They did patch it up; but they didn't do a good job patching it up. We are going to have to redo it. The initial estimate was under $7000; but they told us it would depend on how much wood they had to replace. They had to replace quite a bit of wood. They were always on time. We would schedule to have them meet at the house. The clean up was pretty good after the work. They cleaned up really well. They did a good job on the roof.

They were good. All the samples were given in a packet to look over. They did not come to my home to do give the actual estimate.
